Unless you have excess golf balls to donate, and you want to spend more time hunting for your golf…read moreball than actually playing and presumably enjoying the game and being outdoors, this is not the place for you, particularly in spring and after any recent precipitation. My comments were based on lies that were mostly in the fairways vs. in the rough. The pictures of this course are beautiful, they did a fantastic job of spiffing the look up. The course's twilight pricing rates are incredibly enticing. The staff are friendly. The course looks spacious. What you don't find out until you hit your first ball is that you'll have a hard time finding it too much of the time, for the course, which had a mower on the course when we arrived, is not mowed short: the so-called fairways are cut very high, and balls hit there will sink a bit, making them hard to find in the fairways as well as just outside of them. That's because, in addition to high grass, the fairways are littered with - of all colors - white - flowers, which do a spectacular job of disguising golf balls of most colors: certainly white, but also yellow and pink. The only color that we tried that I had barely-passable luck with was orange,. Due to the extreme number of times when we hit a ball and could not find it due to the condition of the course, it took us 3.5 hours to play 9 holes of golf. As a result, we were too exhausted to play another 9. Perhaps that's why the staff person suggested that we try 9 holes and could "add on" if we wanted to play another 9. While golf itself can be frustrating at times, the addition of sending out the search party this often makes this a "never again" golf course for us.

Came out to play on a Saturday and I have to say it is a pretty nice course (at least the 11 holes…read morewe played). Got through front 9 in about 2.5 hours but really started to slow on last couple holes. We made the turn and it turned excruciatingly slow as it took us 45 minutes to play just 2 holes (10 & 11). Had we stayed, it likely would have been well over 3 hours to finish the back 9. There was a tournament in front of us and we saw the marshall at least 3 times but there was absolutely no impact on the pace of play. It was a complete waste of $93!!! Played Sunland the day before ($69 for 18 holes and cart) and much better experience. Not as nice of a course as Dungeness but at least pace of play was manageable and was still a pretty nice course. We had a drink and snack in the bar (I think it was called Stymies) and we enjoyed ourselves. The appetizers were very good (wings and steamers) and my only advice is get extra bread with steamers as the clam broth was very, very good. Cold beer, good drinks and good view of both UofW football game and Ryder Cup golf. Stymies would actually get a much higher rating from our group but since this is a review of Dungeness GC and Stymies, the golf experience really dragged it down. Regretted paying so much and only playing 11 holes but the pace was absolutely one of the worst I've ever experienced.

Not sure how the golf course is but the food is terrible. We had food from here at the crab…read morefestival in port Angeles and it was some of the worst food I've ever had. We had crab poutine. They used crappy fries with lukewarm sausage country gravy (yes sausage gravy) and about 1 tbsp of cold crab. Gross. Also had the crab grilled cheese. One slice of crappy cheese not even melted a little like they did not even pretend to try to grill it. I have no idea why they are serving food like this And I think it is really rude to charge people 20 dollars per item and give them this garbage. People work hard for their money and I'm down to spend it on good food but not on this. Not only will I never go back to the crab festival but I will also never go eat at the the restaurant at the golf course which I have been wanting to try. Now I know they have terrible food and won't bother!

Most recently, I came with my parents, grandma, and aunt to celebrate Mother's Day today (Sunday 14 May 2023) with a lunch out. The club has a dress code: a collared shirt for men and no shorts for women. So, as a female, I went with my black and white Under Armour shoes, black athletic sweatpants, and a dark red crew neck sweatshirt. I cut my hair myself in a 5 millimeter buzzcut style on the Tuesday (9 May 2023) before the lunch to be crisp for the occasion. I encountered no problems in the workers correctly identifying my gender, and was not turned away. The floor plan/spacing between the tables was pleasant and the chairs had wheels on the bottom, making them easy to move, which I found nice. The lunch buffet had a breakfast section, a more savory lunch section, and a dessert section. All of the items I tried, including scrambled eggs and salsa, salad, bacon, biscuits and gravy, and a cheese blintz, were tasty. My belly was content after one round of the main buffet items. For dessert I went with a carefully cut square/rectangle of yellow cake (not lemon cake) that had a good classic yellow cake flavor and a fluffy/airy cream cheese frosting. The frosting paired with the cake exquisitely and I did not share. All of the workers were friendly and the parking lot was easily accessible. The front also has an area to pull up and pick-up/drop-off people, which was perfect for grandma.

Came in for a few cold beers after work. Just sat in the sun and enjoyed the view!!!read more
