First really good restaurant that I tried in Bermuda. The ambiance is nice and the bar area is also a good scene. The waiter was a tad bit aggressive with his service in the beginning then got pretty quiet just dropping things onto the table and then disappeared when we wanted our bill. Don't know if he was annoyed I didn't order a drink with dinner or that I didn't order more food, but I looked past that since I was excited to finally get a good meal. I ordered the Bermuda fish chowder which I have been wanting to try since in Bermuda. It wasn't what I was expecting as far as presentation - I pictured while pieces of seafood in my mind, but instead it was grounded together kinda like a meat sauce made from fish. I added lemon which made it more flavorful. It was good. (Forgot to take a photo) My friend ordered the salmon which she said was good. It looked good from what I saw. This restaurant discriminates. My wife and I went in to have a drink and then asked to order edamame. The bartender told us that we could not order because the chef was not there and the kitchen was closed for another hour. Fifteen minutes later another table was served edamame and other patron was served sushi. When we asked the bartender why we could not order but others can, he said it was from another restaurant. Sorry, since we saw it brought from the kitchen that cannot be the case. Port O Call discriminates. read more

Great ambiance, amazing food and exceptional service! Not many reviews on this gem. I took my wife there for her Birthday and we both were very happy with the choice! A disappointing evening. Service either absent or annoying started with Friday night dry martini ordered - it came dirty (which would have been ok)!but came with a lemon twist. By the time I could flag down the bar server, we'd moved on to dinner. I pointed out but $18 charge remained. Acoustics of the place make for disruptive dining room. We arrived slightly early for our reservation, and the server at the host station informed us that the dining room was not yet open, and we can wait at the bar. So we ordered drinks and waited. Before I knew it, we were several minutes past our reservation time. I went up to host station and there was another woman there. I asked her and clearly no one informed her that we were here waiting already. Anyways, so we bring our drinks and got seated in the dining room. Our server came and dropped off the wine list and cocktail menu (no food menu) even though we clearly have drinks in hand already. Now before we came into the restaurant we noticed a shiny raised black Jeep with Raiders decal and a Trump / MAGA flag in the back parked ostentatiously in front of the restaurant, like 2-3 feet away from the curb with some traffic cones nearby. My wife suspected it must be someone in the restaurant. We asked our server as he dropped off the menu if he knew who owned the Jeep, and he gleefully informed us that it was a part owner of the restaurant who was in fact sitting at the bar. Took my wife here for dinner during our bermuda trip. Restaurant is near all of the nightlife and the inside is split between the restaurant and a bar area. My wife had the rack of lamb and i had the filet. We both thought that the portions were a bit small but food was good (not amazing). The cheesecake is def worth trying (highlight for me). They were pretty fast getting us onto the ship and having the luggage there without any damage. all port employees we dealt with were polite and kept us flowing through the lines. Easy place to get to and get dropped off then picked up at the end of the cruise (as long as your lyft knows where it is ha ha) Clean and orderly. Efficient port. We would use again. Only thing I did not like was the face recognition. Not a fan of China and their world Mao domination plan. But that seems to be our future and another topic. read more

Great meal. Everything was excellent- food, drinks, service... not inexpensive but you get what you pay for. We were taken care of by Lala who was an excellent server but no less than 4 others checked on us and helped us. We shared the fish chowder and two more apps (twice baked goat cheese and escargot and mushrooms) and each of us had an entree (catch of the day - rock fish prepared the way the sea bass came and the short ribs) Too much food for sure but everything was delicious. We liked it all but we could have left off one app and shared one entree. Our server was helpful throughout the meal and was super personable. We took all of his recommendations and he didn't lead us astray. We finished with coffee and the cheesecake, of course. Great vibe. Great drinks and food but the service is the reason to go back. If I could give zero stars I would. Walked in,asked for a table of 2,was pointed to a table outside,not even escorted. Sat down,waited 5 mins and then finally received a menu,but a drink menu ONLY. Proceeded to wait for a server or maybe even the food menu for about another 15mins. Never got anything. No one asked or even tried to fix their unhappy customers No hospitality and no manners. Terrible customer service, manager had the bartender charge $50 for two cocktails because we added a "dash" of Grand Marnier. Literally 50 cents worth. When we questioned the charge they refused to budge on lowering it. The dinner reservations we had for the next night obviously were not used. They are thieves. read more

I stopped into Port O' Call while on vacation, after a fun morning of shopping and exploring. The restaurant was surprisingly empty in the middle of the day and the host was very unfriendly which worried me. I quickly found out that I had nothing to fear. My actual server was warm, friendly and very attentive. My food and wine came out quickly and my filet mignon was exquisitely prepared. I had a nice view of the harbor and sat and people watched for about an hour. I was happy with all three courses and was very pleased with the wine recommendation. I left sated and happy. There are lots of casual dining options in Bermuda but for a more formal dining experience in the heart of downtown, Port O' Call is the perfect choice! 4.5 Stars. read more

We were 4 nights into our first Bermuda vacation and tried Portocall. So far the best meal of the trip, and probably one of the best 5 meals we've ever had. We arrived a little early for the reservation and settled in at the bar for the short wait. The bar staff and Maitre D were first class and quick to point out the Happy Hour specials ($6.00 drinks). They were friendly and made recommendations on terrific drinks (The Agave, Tequila, Ciltantro, Jalapeno cocktail was spicy and amazing). They even went upstairs to the co-owned Sushi bar and brought down a native Bermuda Rockfish sashimi that was some of the best sushi I've tasted and my wife (never tried sushi before) loved. Dinner was equally as good as we watched local fisherman bringing in the nights catch right through the bar. My wife had the Rockfish in a simple lemon-butter sauce and when I asked about the local Wahoo (which we though would be on the menu but wasn't), the Maitre D went out and secured some (didn't ask where), and it was great to have the same dish prepared the same way but with different fish. At dessert, the Maitre D again came over and recommended a 'special dessert' and brought out a huge piece of Cheescake that was as good as any we've had in NYC. As we left, we thanked them for the meal as it was our 25th anniversary, and were invited to the bar for an after dinner drink on the house (but after 3 Happy Hour drinks, we had to decline, or we'd have been staggering back to the hotel).
