This is a brand new park opened on 2025-07-18. It is built on the new island called Ookwemin…read moreMinising, which means "place of the black cherry trees" in Anishinaabemowin Indigenous language. The new island serves as flood protection in the Port Lands. Biidaasige (pronounced bee-daw-sih-geh) means "sunlight shining toward us". It spans 20 hectares and will expand another 4 hectares in 2026. The park features the following: 1. A huge naturally contoured playground with larger-than-life animal sculptures representing Indigenous dodems (clans). 2. Toronto's first-ever ziplines. 3. The Badlands Scramble, a Waterpark and climbing area. 4. Picnic grounds and two dog off-leash zones. 5. A pebble beach-style landing area for launching kayaks and canoes. 6. Fishing platforms and step-diwns to the river. 7. Walking and cycling trails. 8. Wetlands and native vegetation for birdwatching. There is bridge connecting this park to the other side of the Don River. There is no free WiFi. The patk is wheelchair accessible. There are powered portable separate male/female washrooms near the Commissioners St entrance; there is one gender-neutral wheelchair accessible pot-a-potty washroom which is not powered. There is a large parking lot across the Commisioners St which is free for now. Review 2025-149

This is the new park in Downtown Toronto. It has kids playground and also good for Adults. Kids can…read moreplay at the sands poor and Adults could enjoy the zip lines. And everything here is free. As heard from other parents, more are coming next summer. The other side of the bridge is still under construction. The park actually is big and people can walk around or bike around. There is a parking lot for this park just right across the street. It's meaningful to have a free parking space in downtown area. However, it was too hot to stay long or have picnic there, even though there was a picnic area. There was no big trees or any place to be under the shade. I like to go back with my kid someday when it completes next summer.
