Poppins Payroll was founded by a husband-and-wife team, Mike Wussow and Alina Nisenzon, who experienced firsthand how complicated it was to legally pay a nanny. What should have been a simple task required navigating tax rules, forms, and employer obligations designed for small businesses, not families. Wanting to do the right thing but frustrated by the process, they built the solution they wished existed.
Launched from their own living room, Poppins was created to make household payroll simple, compliant, and accessible for families employing nannies, caregivers, and domestic workers. As demand for in-home care grew, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic, Poppins scaled nationwide—helping tens of thousands of families pay caregivers legally while supporting fair treatment and financial protections for workers.
Today, Poppins Payroll serves families in all 50 states, combining technology with real human support to bring clarity, trust, and ease to household employment.
