I can deal with the crowded rooms, but my biggest problem here is controlling my desire to buy their unique items, which are not all antiques but are all delightful. A word of advice: if you see something you can't live without, grab it, ask the girls at the front desk to hold it for you, because if you hesitate and then come back to that room it may be gone, and it may be an item that they only have one of!

I've been here a few times while I was in the neighborhood. 3 factors make me hesitant to come back. 1. The political flags. Folks have the right to state or display their opinion, but I'm not big on people shoving it in your face, regardless of viewpoint. It's certainly an interesting business model to drive some folks that maybe they didn't want around anyway. 2. A reputation of existing outside the Genoa both geographically and in terms of community support and involvement. 3. I love going into antique places and its an individual thing when you're trying to decide "trash or treasure?". I've found neither category here, but rather a mushy middle that's easy to move on to something else. These are my own biased opinions, and folks are more than welcome to see and experience things for themselves.

She explained some of the damage done to her shop and her family by so called "service" dogs. I felt terrible for her... please people, stop faking the service dogs! Anyway, she and I had the most delightful time looking at brooches, and she made me a deal on 4 really nice vintage pins. I enjoyed my time there. For a small store she has lots of variety and personality. I will definitely be back again and recommend others to her store.

We're also both from Northwest Iowa and both have family in Genoa. What I don't understand is 6 (at this writing) negative reviews complaining about rudeness. If what they mean is plain spoken, occasionally blunt, and sometimes doesn't suffer fools (or unsupervised kids), I consider that a plus.

He also commented to us that it was illegal to take pictures in a gun shop, pawn shops and casinos. We knew someone that was looking for something he had and wanted to share where it was. More business, that's what we thought he would want. Not sure about all the laws but I don't know he does either. A Pawn shop is on a TV show, young people always taking selfies in casinos, and pictures of his collections are on his website.

first of all, they state that they open at 10 am; we were there at 10:15 and still nobody there…read more went to a few other stores then returned around noon, finally it was open. place is large, but really, really cluttered, kind of dark and a lot of the dealers nooks were cramped so full you were afraid to touch anything for fear of an avalanche. lady behind the counter was friendly enough. we were the ONLY 2 in the whole place the entire time we were there. bought just 1 thing and left....but felt kind of "dirty" after leaving as it is so dark and dusty inside...... a neat place if you REALLY WANT to dig for a bargain, but bring your gloves!

Me and another customer were confused, tried knocking on the door. No answer, made our way to a side door. No apology from staff, more annoyed that we were outside. I do appreciate that at least they have a return for store credit, policy on electronics (7 days ) With it being such a small space, perhaps some better pricing and discount days would help with sales and make room for more donations. Anywho, that's my 2 cents... happy thrifting.
