Large selection for a small store. The prices however, reflect the staff's perceived value of the items. I had one woman tell me the items were marked higher because it was an expensive brand. When I looked the brand up it was sold at Target. Then there is the guy behind the counter. Who can barely croak out a hello, when greeted kindly. It doesn't cost any more to be kind. And a thank you would be appreciated. I know staffing might be tough, but at least get someone who enjoys the job! read more

Here's the fishing report, lame puns over time to review. It's kinda hit and miss as far as pricing is concerned. Some things like dvds & cd's are $1 or less which is nice. Some other items , like furniture are way too high. The only discount day (Thursday) is for seniors. Even then, there's still some things that aren't discounted for seniors so ask ahead. The customer service could be improved. They do have a back patio area with more stuff. I learned the hard way, they lock the door after a certain time. Me and another customer were confused, tried knocking on the door. No answer, made our way to a side door. No apology from staff, more annoyed that we were outside. I do appreciate that at least they have a return for store credit, policy on electronics (7 days ) With it being such a small space, perhaps some better pricing and discount days would help with sales and make room for more donations. I donate here often. I daw the vintage photo albums, books, and jerkers I recently dropped off. The store was pretty organized which was nice. BUT THE PRICING IS OUTRAGEOUS! Not "thrift store" pricing. $200 for a (so-so) couch you probably couldn't sell on Facebook marketplace for more than $50 if at all. A used jelly jar for $3! Used Mason and Ball (non vintage) jars $3-$4 each! You can get them new for $1.50! It makes me think I should donate somewhere else. Thrift shop pricing should be affordable. Do better. read more

Little house packed with stuff. Clothes to the left seemed a bit dusty. Books and puzzles to the right were not. Furniture looked reasonably priced and there's a man cave in the out door space out back. Good spot to find sports equipment and tools. read more

Definitely wasn't worth the 30 min drive from Carson City - CRAZY pricing for a "THRIFT". There is assumption pricing - meaning, they assume it's old so that correlates to higher prices. This one won't make it to my favorite listing when traveling to Nevada. read more

Fish thrift store is a cute little store with a lot of knick knacks, pretty much everything you could want is here. The store was just converted over to holiday decor. They have fake trees, ornaments , nutcrackers, and lots of lights. There was a extensive selection of womens clothing, and a much smaller selection of men's. There is also furniture, kitchen appliances, utensils, cups, and sporting goods. I picked up two dads and a book. Prices were a bit high. read more

Update on my last review for this place. I had not been happy with their prices in the past, which was outrageously high. I was also not very happy with their staff which I had found not very friendly or welcoming and actually on the rude side. Well that all changed today. I decided to check them out today with my mother. We walked in and was greeted very nicely. Looking around, I noticed their prices have come down to more like a thrift store. Some items still a bit high but over all more reasonable. We spotted some stuff that were priced great so we couldn't live without it, lol. The only thing right now is even though we found a couple of clothing items we couldn't try them on because the dressing rooms are still closed. We have found that stores are a hit and miss on if they have reopened their dressing rooms. Shout out to the 2 workers, as throughout our visited were continuing to make us feel welcome especially Erica who was very nice especially to my elderly mother who has dementia and was asking her the same questions. I'll now be coming back as a repeat customer. read more

We called around to find out who took things for the homeless and was told Fish does. Very nice place, staff are friendly and they have some really nice stuff. We left with a few things. But I really wish I'd done some of my furniture shopping there, I would have saved so much money. read more

We visited the store and asked about a price on a certain item. It was used and a little rusty. I looked at the price of a new one online and it was $35.00. We asked one person and he said new they are $150.00. He obviously has not done his research on the items he's selling. He went and got someone else and I went out and showed her the product number on the item as well as the product on line with the same product number. It showed $35.00 so we asked her how much it was and she said $35.00. So, your selling used items for the same price as new items?! That's funny I'm all about helping out local businesses but this is definitely a business my family or friends will not be visiting or helping ever again. They really need to educate the people working their on marking the prices accordingly so that they actually sell items to help their organization! read more

Buyer Beware! I stopped in over the New Year's holiday and found a high end espresso machine. It was also highly priced nearly half the cost of what you could buy a new one for. I was concerned I would get it home and find that it didn't work. I was assured that every product is tested before putting it in the store. Well in this case the best they could say is that they plugged it in and the power came on. When I got it home it was missing most of the parts needed to actually make coffee. I had the choice of spending $50 to ship it back for a refund or spend $100 more on parts to get it working. If it weren't for the fact that the machine is one of the most highly rated on the market I would have sent it back. With what I ended up spending I should have just found a new one. Overpriced and messy, crowded store. I've talked to some of the employees that are kind and helpful. The manager of the store likes her power over prices and actually raises the price if you come back for something you previously tried to make a deal on. Supposed to help the community but a single parent looking for a few household items is better off going to yard sales than begging boss lady for a good deal on something. She says they won't sell broken things but there is a ton of crap in there that is broken and for sale. Totally disappointed in what I thought would be a reasonable community thrift shop. read more

Although this store has a good selection most days, I find the prices to be high. The staff can be rude. I've been on a few occasions while they were having a TAG sale and had the manager tell me the item was tagged wrong. There are still items in the store that have been there since the first time I visited in 2012. Again, the prices are too high. You might be better off paying retail price because it might be cheaper to do so. read more

Called and set up a donation pick up. I was told small Items would be picked up if they were boxed. The guys arrived way late and with a bad attitude. Then they told me no box pickup. After I got that straightened out they started opening all my closed and taped boxes to pick individual items they wanted. When I ask what they were doing they said they were finding stuff to sell. I informed them rooting through my stuff, tossing it aside, and leaving stuff everywhere was not helpful. They told me they didn't like my attitude. I also didn't like theirs. So I told them to leave. I would never do business with this establishment. read more

Nice place, with all the donations they get however prices are too high for a thrift store. All they are doing is pocketing the money themselves I'm sure. I asked about a super small VCR TV that was posted for $30 and asked if I could get it for $10. "NO" was the answer, "those go like hot cakes for parents who want it for their kids"..really a VCR? I just wanted one for the kitchen as I cooked. Not even a come back at $20. Then they sell over price an item to my friend that I was introducing their store too, that should could buy the exact same item brand new for less elsewhere?! I've only been here once and I don't think I'll be back. When I walked in I got no greeting even though someone was at the front counter. A little acknowledgement goes a long way. I had a stroller and couldn't get to a few spots because it was cramped. As employees were navigating around the store they still didn't acknowledge me or say "excuse us" as they were walking around me. The prices are very high for a thrift shop, closer if not the same as retail. The store is well organized that's about it. read more

We just completed an Estate Sale at my Grandparent's house at Topaz Lake. I had contacted FISH to come out and get what they wanted for their store. They were supposed to come on a Saturday, but called to reschedule to the following Wednesday because they had overbooked themselves. On Wednesday afternoon when I called them, because they hadn't yet shown, they first said they didn't have me on their calendar, then found me and said oh sorry the truck went to Reno today and won't be coming out. They then asked if I could meet them there on Thursday, um no I work a day job. They asked if we could leave the stuff out overnight and they would come back Thursday morning. We did. On Thursday afternoon my Dad calls to tell me EVERYTHING is still there. I call FISH again and they said, oh our drivers said everything was dirty and they couldn't take anything. I am willing to bet they never even came and just used that as an excuse. There were two dryers, numerous chairs, a couch, a headboard, a table saw, silk plants, books, various household goods, etc. (I am sure they could have found a few things to take). VERY disappointed in FISH and will not support them in the future. read more

This is the most expensive thrift store hands down in carson valley. It is clean though and has a decent selection but prices are almost the same as new. Best to know retailers priced before you go. No sales like other stores either. read more

Don't let the 3 stars fool you into thinking I believe this place is great. I don't. It's just ok, but I felt a 2 star rating was too low. This place is too pricey for a thrift store. Some of the staff are very friendly and some of them act like they are doing you a favor by letting you walk through the door. This place is clean and they have nice items. Some of the items are reasonable, but many are not. I am willing to pay more for nice things, but often the prices in here are just too steep for a thrift store. I would give a much higher rating if the prices were reasonable. read more

I was traveling through a beautiful little town visiting from Scottsdale,AZ and I came across the most awesome, relevant thrift store I have ever found. Not knowing it was a 5013c non profit and that all their sales benefit their wonderful community....I found a Donna Karen dress for 6.00 and the perfect gift for my mom on mother's day, a beautiful coach watch. My husband even found a Tommy Bahama shirt!!!! Go figure! The things were amazing and special thanks for the VIP treatment from Katrina my shopping angel! read more
