The owner is unbelievably nice! Food was good. If you're at the beach, it's a great deal

This bright blue food truck has always caught my eye and I finally made it in for lunch. Being a food truck, the vibes are super casual and laid back. You place your order, then grab a seat at one of their picnic benches and soak up the sunshine. The staff were incredibly nice, and the sweet little touches like the handwritten note on the to go bag were just too cute. We love those kinds of vibes! Here's what I got: Single Smash Burger: A solid and delicious smash burger! The bun was pillowy soft, the patty had a nice crust, and I'm always a sucker for cheese, thin sliced lettuce, and a thousand island style sauce on a burger. No frills, just super satisfying and done right. Cosmo Fries: Honestly my favorite bite of the day! Loaded fries topped with cheese, onions, burger patty, and their pink sauce...absolutely insane. SO good. I loved the skinny fries they use, and since everything was made fresh to order, the fries stayed extra crispy even with all the toppings. My biggest regret is passing by this food truck for so long without stopping. That was genuinely a stellar smash burger and fries combo, with the added bonus of such friendly and welcoming staff. Next time you're walking around Downtown Ventura and want a casual outdoor bite, definitely make a stop at Cosmos Smash Burgers. (Located at the Channel Islands Juice Co. parking lot just fyi).

I think the burger lasted all of 4 minutes before it all ended up tucked away in my belly. The cosmos burger is the sleeper hit of the century. It's truly out of this world! Jalapeños and grilled onions are the way. Don't miss it while it's still earthbound!

If you're sticking to asada or chicken, that's fine... more lengua and tripa for the rest of us. The lengua is tender and full of flavor, and the tripa is done right. Crispy, satisfying, and not chewy or weird. My tacos came pre-garnished with chopped onion and cilantro, which they confirm when you order. Appreciate the respect. And let's talk about the champurrado. So good, especially on a cooler evening. Comfort in a cup and the perfect post-taco sip. They also have other menu options like burritos, tortas, mulitas, and quesadillas if tacos aren't your thing (but honestly, get the tacos). They usually add sliced cucumbers and limes on the side, and you'll get one salsa by default, so if you like it saucy, just ask for more. The cashier was friendly, and they call out your number pretty quickly. This is a takeout, stand-on-the-sidewalk kind of spot and that's exactly how it should be. There are a couple tables and chairs if you want to eat on the fly. Street parking only. If you're craving legit street tacos and aren't afraid to order off the "non-basic" menu, this one's for you.

So I drove down the Ave and saw this food truck with a line and people sitting at the folding tables. I got a Lengua burrito and I ordered it to-go because honestly I was too tired and cold to sit outside. The burrito was fire! It had great flavor, the meat was soft with a slight chew and it was a hefty burrito. I tried the green chili sauce and I liked it too. It wasn't spicy. I also got a Diet Coke which my total came out to $16. Not bad. They also prepared my burrito pretty quickly. I think I had to wait maybe 7-8 minutes with a few people ordering before me. Pretty quick!

Glad we gave Mother's Tacos a shot because we were pleasantly surprised. The food and drinks were both really good. The chicken mole was excellent, and the torta was a total hit. Even our 5-year-old loved it, which always says a lot. What stood out most though was our server, Cesar. He was fantastic from start to finish. Every recommendation he gave us was on point(including his surprise tequila recommendation), and he treated us with the kind of confidence and professionalism you'd expect from someone with years of hospitality experience. Dudes got old school server vibes that's rarely seen anymore! Super welcoming, attentive, and genuinely made the whole experience better. The decor is great, the vibe is cool, and because of Cesar we'll definitely be back.

I'm not sure it my visit took a turn because it was the anniversary or what but we got there around 2:30pm, the waiter told us the happy hour was from 3-6pm if we wanted wait. We left and came back at 3:15pm. I asked for the happy hour menu and the waitress told me that it didn't start till 6pm and the waiter who told me had gone home, long story short she honored the happy hour prices. Due to it being the anniversary the elote wasn't being served. I asked for more horchata which they said they were out of till later. When we got the food, most of it was over salted. The chicharróns and dirt papas were too salty to finish. Even adding the salsas didn't temper down the salt or added flavor or spice to the food. The asada taco was the best thing we had. We also got 2 churros. I feel like they were to thick an not done all of the way through. Also heard they had an Oreo churros for later that day too. I'll give it another try because I really wanted the all the Mother's smoke and am hoping what I experienced was a one time situation. We will have to see...

They serve food in the Guanajuato style with lemon wedges, sweet griddled yellow onions, fresh cucumber on the side, and a nice homemade vinegary red hot sauce. Everything is really fresh and I've never had stomach issues here. They accept both credit cards and cash. They're pretty fast at getting your order out too. Usually within 10 to 15 minutes if it's not busy. I have only had tacos here and I keep coming back when I get cravings. The cabeza (cow head meat) is my favorite - very rich and meltingly tender. If the idea of eating head meat puts you off, just go for it - it's so delicious! The tripas (breaded & fried intestines) tacos are glorious, rich and flavorful. My last visit was my first and only time eating them so I don't have anything to compare them to. I have to be in the mood for something that rich and heavy, though. The other meats are all pretty good but sometimes the meat is a little salty (asada & barbacoa). I find asada to be a bit tough in most places and I probably say the same here. They also sell giant quesadillas, burritos and churros. I bought some churros today and they were a little tough but still tasty.
