Ordered through the app for pickup and the wait was short--five minutes or less, which was a plus. However, the experience took a turn at the window. There was confusion about our order; we thought the employee said they were out of the blackened chicken tenders we ordered and offered a sandwich or wings as a substitute. We agreed to a sandwich, but halfway home, we checked the bag and found the tenders were included, along with two sandwiches, but the 4-piece mixed chicken we also ordered was missing. Either we misunderstood the employee, or they got it wrong. Either way, the mix-up left us with food we didn't fully expect. The food itself was decent but inconsistent. The chicken sandwich was crispy and flavorful, a solid hit. The blackened tenders were the highlight--juicy, nicely spicy, and packed with bold flavor. Very very bland. I ordered 2 spicy breast and they were very bland. The breast was small and unseasoned. There was no spice. The mac and cheese was basically just cheese and no pasta, the sides were also very small. The biscuits had a weird sweet taste to them for some reason. This review is strictly on service/management... While sitting in line for 20 minutes, we notice almost every vehicle ahead of us was leaving. When we finally got to the ordering que, they told us it would be 30-35 minutes before chicken would be ready. Management should've sent an employee out to let people in the drive thru know they had no chicken cooked. We are new in town and have ordered twice from this Popeye's. The first time I placed my order through the app, only to get there and find the store closed at 7pm. Ok, fine. The next time we again used the app and when we got our food it was a torally wrong order-only one chicken sandwich with no pickles on it, and a drink. My husband called to see if we could get it redelivered or what we could do to make it right. He was not rude AT ALL, and the manager ranted to him for a good minute then hung up in his face. Unfortunately I had to contact their corporate offices because that is a totally unacceptable way to treat anyone, let alone a paying customer. We will not be going back. Went around 7:45 and they were out of a few things and all sauces. So not a great start. One of the only sides they had was mashed potatoes. We get our food, the gravy was chunky and there was a dead bug in it. I went back to them to let them know and they responded. "Let me see...oh yeah that is a bug." They offered to make something new for us, but said they were about to close and were out of more. We said no we were grossed out and didn't want anything from them again. Poor customer service. We were amazed! We've tried popeyes a few times and it was horrible. Since they posted new management we decided to try it again. Not only was the young man at drive thru a nice person, but their recent health score was 100. Still scared based on reviews, but oh, what a surprise when we got home. I visited the Commerce Popeye's restaurant on three occasions. Twice they served skimpy sized chicken tenders. They could have made up for the small size by increasing the quantity of the tenders. There was no way to bring this to the attention of management since only the drive thru service was available. If this happens again I will use the Popeye's survey to alert management. read more

This location is the worst. I have been there on 5-6 different occasions over the last few months only to find they were out of chicken. On one occasion it was 11:45 am during the week and their fryers were down, the restaurant had only been open for a month or two. Last night called to make sure they had chicken, they said yes. My wife ordered through their app and paid in advance, waited at drive through nearly 30 minutes to find they had no chicken, it was frozen she said. My wife stated that I had called and the employee said that too much time had passed from when I called (20 minutes), so I guess it was my fault. Since she had prepaid she asked for a refund and the employee said they couldn't refund. We have written to Popeyes corporate previously to complain with no response. So they obviously don't care. The most poorly managed fast food restaurant on the planet. Don't waste your time, no chicken is that good. We will NEVER eat at Popeyes again, regardless of location. read more

We have tried this location 4 times. First time they had a hand written sign up that said we only have sandwiches and coleslaw available. Second time was cash only(not terrible but still) they had loud music playing from a speaker and you couldn't even hear the drive thru worker. Third time they only had spicy strips but the service was good. Then today we tried ordering a plain sandwich Lady said she was sorry they are premade we can't do that .. when did Popeyes starting doing premade sandwiches.. This place is ZERO stars! First, we waited nearly one HOUR between the drive thru to receiving our food. Second, the excuse we received is they had to cook our food fresh because they ran out. Our food was NOT fresh. It was COLD. Third, we ordered red beans and rice, and there were 4 beans in a container of rice in one, and 6 beans in the other. Yes, we counted. The chicken sandwich was NOT juicy. It was dry, overcooked, and cold. Not fresh. After we had paid, we waited THIRTY (yes, 30) minutes to receive our food. Even after complaining, they said, "We got busy and ran out of food. We had to cook more." Ummm, y'all were busy when we got there. They asked us to pull forward as they cooked our shrimp order. We got LITERALLY a handful of shrimp that would take less than 3 minutes to cook. Do not go here. I'm not saying that Popeyes is bad; I'm saying that the Commerce/Banks Crossing Popeyes is terrible! Went on 3 different occasions and everytime its a problem. 1st instance I ordered a #11 Popcorn Shrimp and the biscuit and shrimp was cold. My experience seems to be the same that others have also had. I waited for this location to open and had high hopes. It has never lived up to the other Popeyes that I have eaten at. Several times I have ordered and after sitting in line and driving home (I have yet to be able to dine in) I would open the bag only to see small pieces of chicken and half filled side dishes. Today... for the 2nd time they have run out of chicken. Not, "we need to cook some", but "we don't have any". How does a chicken restaurant not have chicken at 6pm? I sat in line 20 mins only to be told that they are out of chicken. How about having someone come out and tell everyone in the line that they were out of chicken and maybe put a sign up on one of the 10 "yard signs" they have out by the drive thru. I guess this Popeyes is what is keeping Bojangles open down the street. At this point tear the building down and make a bigger parking lot for Culver's next door.
