Visited the Popeyes in Whitestown yesterday, 2/22/26 around 5:30pm and it had been a while since I had visited the location. Kiosk was the only way to order and for me that's cool, the wife not so much so. Nonetheless we maneuvered through the options and was totally disappointed to get home and find our two red beans & rice were actually two small cups of red beans in a slurry of juice. I can't think of who would want this and I never saw it on the menu, red beans only. I mean since Popeyes came to Indy year's ago and I've been to more than one location, like 46th and Arlington, 38th and Keystone, 86th and Michigan Rd, I've never ordered red beans & rice and never had rice crowned in the center. It was a total disappointment! They didn't have any regular seasoned chicken at the time of our visit and we were told about 10-15mins on that, so I opted for the spicy. It was good, though it seemed to be in last stages of freshness. Just don't know what to think these days. You spend your hard earned money and the minimum of expectation isn't met any longer. This particular Popeyes is at the T/A truck stop and all the years I've visited it, there was great upfront counter staff and everything was always cooked fresh and really really good food. read more

Got carry out this time. Sweet tea was very good. I always love their mashed potatoes and gravy. Nicely seasoned with a little kick, but not too overpowering. Now the wings have been getting progressively more strange. They were always medium sized flats and drums. Now the sizing is inconsistent, there's A LOT of extra breading, and somehow this time I got the whole wing which I'm not a fan of. These flats were so small I could fit them on my spoon. Horrible staff. Accused me of stealing lemonade when I ordered a cup of water with two sandwiches (which they also messed up and had to redo, I told them twice no mayonnaise). I am in my mid-40s, I don't drink sugar anymore. I showed her what was in my cup. You need two hands to get water as there is a little tab above the lemonade to release it. If from 14 feet away she claims lemonade (disgusting) went in my cup, they need to do one of two things: 1) link the water to the coke dispenser. Water and coke are two completely different colors and if she is so obsessed with what goes on at the distant sofa fountain and not tending to taking orders like she's supposed to, this will help her play security and order taker all at once. Or 2) Don't offer water period and make us buy bottles. But don't make a scene and accuse me of an absurd crime in public. If my wife wasn't there all hell woulda broke loose, promise you that. I wouldn't have left until I saw a salty tear run down her face and hit the corner of her lips and wouldn't have thought twice about it. If she wants to impress Massa next time like she tried and failed miserably to do on this occasion, she should make a real boss move and bring my suggestions to her superior's attention. Might get her promoted. If you're reading this now please share this with her. She was working the register the afternoon of Sunday July 25, 2021. Times are hard these days so I don't want her to lose that job, but she's terribly unqualified and her sidekick next to her was equally as useless. I'm sure that's their ceiling in life but it's a blessing to be healthy and employed so I don't hold that against them and wish them well. It's just unfortunate these positions are too big for them. If you made it this far, I can't emphasize enough don't come here. If it's too late and you had a bad experience, tell the world. There's double digit options to hit elsewhere & be treated with an iota of respect and people deserve to know this. I really only came to get gas and this place was conveniently located next to it. They are gifted business because of this. Get your gas and drive elsewhere. Let those unqualified socially inept staff members drink all the lemonade and sugary fructose to their hearts content. The sooner they are out of the workforce because they aren't physically up to it the better. Perhaps management can get a real staff to work there and purge the miserable sheep they have currently. This place is an embarrassment. They don't deserve a penny of your earnings. Spread the word. read more

Spicy chicken sandwich was really good and the service was great. They were a little busy but we got our food quickly.

I have Been to Popeyes in Kokomo 3 times. The first was ok. I and my wife have gotten sick the last two times. Will not try again.

1st time eating there and probably won't be back. Air was not working and it was so hot in there. Girl that took our order was not friendly. She never said can I help you. She said what do you want. Then she asked my husband if he wanted fries for his side. He said what are your options? She literally pointed at the board behind her. She never said thank you and didn't give me my receipt. This review is really for those passing through. It's exactly what you'd expect of a Popeyes. No surprises in the food category - either good or bad. Just exactly what you've come to expect from this franchise. The staff was really friendly. But if you're unsure about visiting this truck stop, don't worry. It was well lit, plenty busy and felt safe. There were a lot of families around. The bathrooms were adequate. Nothing too remarkable to report other than, this is a fine choice with plenty of parking if you need a break. read more

I use to go to the one in Lebanon, IN where I could walk to the restaurant, the staff was always friendly. I'd walk in and they greeted by name. I moved out of the area and since then they were closed down. I now go to the one in Whitestown, IN. Same the staff is friendly the food is always hot. read more

Well, the chicken here wasn't too bad. I'd never been to a Popeye's before, so I was willing to give it a shot. I absolutely hate whatever KFC does, and would easily choose Popeye's over that--but Chick Fil A is quite a bit better than Popeye's. I'm not sure if I should have a fast food chicken hierarchy so easily accessible. ... ... The most exciting thing about our visit (on the way back from the Indianapolis airport) was the manager. She announced quite loudly to the entire restaurant that she was running on 45 minutes of sleep over the past two days and that MARCUS was going to DIE if he didn't figure out how the BISCUITS and FRYERS worked. I never saw Marcus but wanted to escape from the place as soon as possible, so I assume he was thinking along those same lines. I like Popeye's but our experience here was pretty terrible. My husband ordered spicy chicken and fries, I ordered mild chicken and mashed potatoes. Despite assuring my husband that the spicy chicken was with the fries (and marking the box 'spicy'), they put the mild chicken with the fries and the spicy chicken with the mashed potatoes and my husband ate all the mild chicken, assuming it just wasn't that spicy. In addition to the spiciness in the breading, which I didn't especially want but could tolerate, the spicy chicken also had a rubbery, gelatanous texture and didn't really taste like chicken. It was very unappetizing. My husband also requested ranch dressing and they didn't include any, and the food took forever to come out. The biscuit was the only good thing about the meal. read more

Stop by today for a quick to go meal after church service. I ordered a ten piece meal with specific pieces and paid for my order. I waited about fifteen minutes and after seeing many customers receive their order I went to the counter and inquired about mine. After telling the manager I'd been waiting fifteen minutes she rudely replied "it's only been twelve minutes" and "you had a special order" Special order???Hold up wait a minute ooooh ok I thought this was a chicken joint???? Silly me I ordered chicken thighs....now that's special? Well no apology for my wait or a projected time on when my order would be up. So back to waiting another fifteen minutes and still nothing. At this point I'm frustrated and not feeling good about spending my money at a place that treats customers poorly and with such unimportance. I approach the counter and asked for a refund. It's obvious the two kids at the counter were trained by the manager cause all they could do is smirk and grin like it was a big joke just like their manager, not one apology for my wait or nothing to compensate me for my loss time. The manager treated me as if she was doing me a favor by serving me. A proper response would have been "Sorry sir for your wait and my apologies spicy chicken will be up in fifteen minutes" or "Sorry for your wait I'll make things right by comping your order or next time it's free on me" Not a mumbling word! This is such a great place to stop for food on the way to or from Indy, that it's worth it to stay hungry & wait for it instead of eating beforehand. Indiana people are not as familiar with this franchise as they are with KFC, which is a pity. Then again, that means more for me!! The red beans and rice is so incredibly delicious, you'll forget it's actually healthy for you. Their shrimp po boy is what my kid always orders, it's always delicious, as are all their sides, and of course, their chicken!! Get a split box of half spicy & half mild & discover what fried chicken tastes like when it actually has flavor. It's in a truck stop, right off 65, so it's easy to get to, easy to get back on the highway.
