Best popcorn you've ever had--hands down! This is the perfect gift choice (for yourself and others). The El Paso Style is a must-have!

Great flavors, various sizes, helpful staff. My favorite is the jalapeno ranch.

It really is such a gem tucked away in the city in a very humble and simple outdoor shopping center, but certainly worth stopping by :) ! I had Googled the best souvenir shops close to my hotel and "So El Paso" popped up on my search ! I am so glad I stopped by here because they truly have some of the most thoughtful and meaningful gifts you can give anyone, whether you are a local to the area :) ! Or whether you're like me - a tourist who wants to bring back something thoughtful and meaningful to family and friends back home in CA :) ! I specifically wanted quality souvenirs that are really unique to the area or region :D ! I met the owner and also one of her employees :) ! Both of them were really friendly and warm ! The owner told me that she is originally from El Paso, but had lived in the San Francisco Bay Area for about 20 years before coming back to El Paso :) ! If I had heard correctly, I believe her employee told me that this store has been open since 2020. I purchased some Mexican candied cocoa pecans, some churro cookies, and some margarita powder mixes :D ! I purchased some Mexican spice cocoa pecans, some churro cookies, and some margarita powder mixes :D ! So far, I have only tasted the Mexican spice cocoa pecans, which are delicious :) ! I haven't tried the churro cookies and the margarita mixes yet :) ! But I plan to gift some of these to family and friends :) ! They also have nice holiday gift sets that are beautifully wrapped and ready to gift :D ! When I was shopping there yesterday, there was a customer there who seemed to be ordering in bulk for a group of people :) ! She was carefully choosing items to purchase as she was conversing with the owner :) ! So for sure, these are wonderful items you can gift to individuals or huge groups :D ! I wll definitely be back the next time I visit the west side in El Paso :) ! The owner and her employee really go the extra mile to take care of you and your needs :D !

Decided to make the most of it and stop by Weird'O Beardo Jerky and taste his meat. I've seen them at the farmer's market and never got to try them, but they just opened a cute store off Montwood, right around the corner from Ono Shaved Ice! He had a lot of flavors to try and it's the thin type of jerky that goes with the carne seca drinks. They had a lot of the vendors they work with at the Country club Farmer's market on Saturdays and the Upper Valley Farmer's market on Sundays. From the festive decor to the candied applies, popcorn, caramel, teas, freeze dried fruit and candies, and last but not least, my favorite chamoy Chamoylicious_ep, it's a fiesta in a store! Pretty much a great place showcasing the flavors of El Paso. If they sold glass mugs, pinatas, and some decor, you can actually do a one stop shop for a great happy hour party at home! In fact, all of the store seems to look like it's to celebrate your taste buds. I'm happy that the Eastside has easy access to all the goodies that the Westside gets at the farmer's markets, but kinda jealous they don't have to wait til the weekend. Come check them out and truly #supportlocal. Oh and also get the boba and shaved ice at Ono Shaved Ice while you're at it. I rewarded my kids for the drive with a large shaved ice split 2 ways. I rewarded myself with a brown sugar boba. Can't wait to have the rain go away so I can wash the smells from my damp car. She didn't greet us, which could be reasonable, but we were literally the only people there, and we were obviously tourists. I had a lot of questions about the products, but the worker was not friendly and I didn't want to interrupt her phone scrolling. There was an empty sample tray and it would have been nice to sample products since I was hoping to buy some food souvenirs to take home for friends and family, but I passed on it since I wasn't sure if they would be good. I got the jalapeno pecan brittle, green chile pecans, and the red chile pecans. The red chile pecans were smokey like a paprika and the heat builds gradually, and there's more dusting of the powder compared to the green chile. The green chile tastes like green chile. They're both fairly mild. The jalapeno pecan brittle is hot and sweet, with the flavors complementing each other. I wouldn't get it again but it was good to try it. The pecans were good quality, with whole halves in the pecan bags, but they didn't have that fresh crunchy texture of super-fresh pecans. I would go to a friendlier shop to buy your pecan products if you're not from the area.

The shop was really fun and bright, neatly organized and chock full of everything pecan, from brittle (soft and crunchy at the same time - very delicious and very unique), chocolate-covered varieties, shelled varieties, pecan coffee, etc. We picked up a couple of items for ourselves and some to take home as gifts. The ladies in the shop were super friendly, encouraging us to take lots of samples and wander around freely. I was also really fascinated by the video they had playing in the store that showed the process of harvesting pecans - there's a special machine that shakes the tree and all the pecans fall down to the ground. How cool! So not only a tasty stop but educational too. Highly recommend.
