Just over a year after installation, the new pool coating is failing. Multiple pool companies have…read moreinspected it and identified that the surface was not properly prepared prior to application. There are numerous voids where the coating did not adhere to the pool shell. Those sections are now discolored, and calcium flakes are forming where air voids exist behind the coating. Best Florida Pool and Spas acid washed the surface earlier this year. This would have been an opportunity to identify the adhesion problem, but the issue was either not recognized or not communicated to me. Separately, Best Florida Pool and Spas installed a heater a few years ago that remains under warranty. The circuit board has failed. I have requested the purchase invoice needed to file a warranty claim, and they have not provided it. My recommendation to anyone considering this company: put a formal written contract in place before proceeding, so that you have clear documentation and legal recourse if problems arise.

The company couldn't commit to a day to come and give an estimate. Then I saw a listing for the Pool Pump Guy in Longwood so I gave him a call on New Year's Eve and he texted me right back and asked me to send him a photo of my Pump. He told me how to easily and safely remove the pump from the filter and the power supply. I was reluctant to do so but he gave easy to follow steps and within 10 minutes I successfully removed and brought to Jay's shop. Turns out my pump was badly damaged from pebbles that got into my filter and pump. Solution: Jay ordered me a brand new pump and I had it the next morning at 10. Jay set it up in the shop with new gaskets, lube, and reconnected my power supply then gave me simple, safe instructions how to reconnect. Total time to reconnect the pump was about 15 minutes. Only needed a screwdriver to connect the wires. Powered up and wow! Everything worked perfectly. No leaks, no trouble. And the suction power is phenomenal! The pool system has never worked this well before! Jay is a genius at his trade and was able to instruct me how to do this myself, safely and quickly and saving me hundreds of dollars and a lot of time. I wish every repair business was as honest and helpful as this one. I highly recommend Jay for any pool pump!

Good communication back and forth. Took a little longer than desired for them to come out and…read moreassess my pool problem. They made a plan to drain it and clean it and start Routine maintenance. So far they're doing a great job. My pool was drained and acid washed because the last service company let it turn green with algae along the edges and all through the fountain. It got out of control when I fired them because there was a gap in service for three weeks making various phone calls and waiting for Aquaworks to come out. They were not the first company I called. I had a no-show from one company and a late call back from another. It's hard to find good people. So far my fountain is getting a little green again. I spoke to my maintenance guy and he said it needs to be sprayed with bleach often. I had tried that in the past but had no idea they pool bleach and liquid bleach for laundry were different concentrations. He informed me that pool bleach was much stronger. He recommended a sprayer which I have since ordered. He also offered to fill it up with the pool bleach for me! I anticipate that this week. One of my qualms is their documentation. They sent me a receipt for draining the pool and upgrading my equipment etc but the receipt it not itemized at all. It just says here's the charge and that I paid. Kinda weird. The upgrade to the pool equipment has been a life saver. All this time I thought my pool vacuum sucked. It actually doesn't. It works great now that the pipes are the size they're supposed to be. Fantastic! Saved me from converting my pool vac to a jet powered one. They said the suction powered one is best for enclosed pools anyway. I appreciate they didn't try to up sell me on stuff I don't need. Seems like an honest company that is family owned. So far maintenance is going well.
