This is as basic as it gets for a pool on the Strip. There is only one pool so you got the adults, kids, and party guests all in the same pool. I'm not much of a pool guy so it was no big deal for me. Room keys are required for pool access, and they don't allow you to bring your own drinks or coolers .Lockers are at the entrance if you need to store any personal items. I only noticed about a dozen cabanas, but you can rent one without a reservation. There was no DJ but the playlist of songs were fun ranging from MJ to Drake. No complaints. There is one large bar near the pool and an amenities pool shop that has pool floats, beach balls, & umbrellas available for rent. This is basically a pool for lounging around, which was fine by me. I just put my feet in the water and took in some rays . Servers are walking around taking drink and food orders . I didn't order anything but the prices looked pretty reasonable. We did a cabana this weekend for a birthday celebration. I will start with how easy they made it to book the reservation(even immediately after just reopening their doors), in comparison to other locations I had been looking into. Pros-Love that they allow a party of 10. I believe we got cabana #2 and it had full sun all day(some other spots did not). Tons of towels available, Plenty of H2O in the fridge, & Service was great the first half of the day. Fairly easy to hit the $350 min with a group of 9! Cons-Service declined as the day went on(we had to go to the bar twice and request 1 of our 2 servers to even come by. My husband had to hook the TV up himself (& the remote was absolutely filthy..& barely worked). The servers were friendly, but when they took our food order, they did not alert us that it was basically last call to order food before the kitchen closed at 3PM. We ended up having to share our food since we couldn't order again. Also, I understand it is an all ages pool, but the music could also use an improvement. Overall...not bad for the pricing, but don't expect a "wild Vegas poolside experience", that's definitely not the atmosphere you will get here by any means. Was hesitant because reviews I read were not spectacular. However, I took my 7 year old and we had a good time. Not a gigantic pool but big enough to splash around. Great tasting drinks...but if you're good with frozen ones get a large drink from inside the casino. A "Fat Tuesday" similar place right in the other side of registration. Though I didn't check to see their policy on outside food/drink. Early April gave enough sun for a sunburn in about 2 hours so the amount of sun wasn't an issue for us...other reviews said you only get about 4 hours of sun due to the buildings surrounding it. But we were there 1-3pm anyways. Not too many cabanas. But again we weren't looking for a party with a bunch of adults. All in all it's a good option for kiddie fun while adults either lounge or enjoy a cocktail or both. read more

Compared with pools nearby, the one at NY NY is quite small in a town that dreams big. It is fine for a hotel pool, just expected that it would be more glamorous looking. Pool lies below part of the roller coaster attraction. You need to access the 3rd floor pool elevator to get in. A key card is required. Interestingly there is a MGM promotion which gives you multi pool access at neighboring casino hotels. Given this, I would say to go elsewhere. Still this pool does not seem too crowded, has a pool bar and was pumping out some pleasing top 40 tunes. It's fine. Really all I wanted was to get some sun. For those who are more selective, I would go elsewhere. The Monte Carlo next door is a much better spot. read more

A very bad overall pool for Vegas. Extremely lazy staff that allows towels to pile up on chairs all day long. Drink prices at pool not horrible though. Sun is on you about half the day. It's not the biggest pool in LV by far or even the best designed but it is a nice well hidden pool that is virtually nonexistent to the visitors who are not checked into the hotel. You can access the pool from the third floor of ALL the hotel elevators in the NYNY so you don't have to walk through the hotel or lobby or casino to get to the pool which is a big plus. There is a separate elevator dedicated to the pool that you need your key to access. Very secure. You walk in and are quickly greeted with towels by the employees there. You can rent an inflatable raft for a nominal fee as well. Cool little things with a nice pillow as well. Didn't get one but saw a few people with them on the water. We grabbed our towels and headed to a couple of open chairs towards the rear side of the pool. Lots of shade for those who are not looking to bronze up. Chairs are okay but just put down a couple of towels and it is very comfortable. The bar is centrally located and there are also a couple of waitresses hustling around taking orders as well. The usual fare: beer, frozen drinks, and well. We got a Strawberry Daiquiri and Red Bull/Vodka. Strong drinks. Good and refreshing. A lady from the America restaurant also walks around taking food orders if you are jonesing for some grub. We ordered a hotdog, quesadilla, and fries. Nothing huge. It was good. Not too greasy and the fries were wedges, which I like, but were battered, which is not my favorite, but the flavor was good. Cabanas are also available for a nominal price. They were all taken by the time we got there so I'm assuming you have to reserve well ahead of time. They had televisions, wet bars, tables, chairs, misters, and lounges with nice fat cushions on them. Pretty much a room but outside. It's cool for a group of people I would think. As far as noise, it's right under the first dip of the Roller Coaster so you get the intermittent screams every 5 minutes or so. Also, the valet entrance is right outside the fence so loud cars can be heard. But they cancel most of that out because they have the speakers blasting full volume with some cool relaxing tunes. The pool itself is modestly sized and has a volleyball net cutting it in half. Shallow with a sitting ledge around the outside to chill halfway in the water. There's a couple of whirlpools in the back in the shade to relax if you're in the mood for that. I've been to a couple of pools in LV but all of them have been packed to where you can't even find a chair or walk to the bathroom. A little ridiculous for someone like me who just wants to enjoy the sun and water. Maybe for a younger crowd, elsewhere would be better. Oh and there's a masseuse that walks around giving pool side massages for a fee. Didn't see anyone getting one but I will be happy to try it out next time. Look, this is not a flashy pool by any means. It is medium-sized, as hotel pools go. It is definitely a pool for splashing and chilling. Like pools of its kind, it is surrounded by lounge chairs. At intermittent spots there are even upgraded/cushioned lounge chairs with umbrellas that you can reserve for a certain amount in food and beverage purchases (one time we went it was $95 but I can't remember if it was a weekday or weekend). Totally worth it if you are going to be hanging there all day. There are four or five cabanas for the same deal. We were recently there on a Tuesday and it was $250 in food and beverage purchases to have the cabana until the pool closed at 8pm. There is a fridge with water inside, a television with Direct tv, misters, and a comfy couch. The server will come by periodically to refresh your drink/food order. With several friends together or a family you can easily hit the mark. Weekends are more expensive, though I can't remember exactly how much right now. At both ends of the pool there is a shallow ledge with cool lounge chairs that let you chill in a little bit of water. Along the edge of the pool is a submerged bench that lets you sit and enjoy a drink. In the middle of the pool is a fountain feature that kids like to climb on. I haven't found it to be as crowded as other hotel pools (looking at you, Mandalay Bay). However, on a recent visit there was a youth hockey league staying at the hotel and those kids were everywhere - and their parents were enjoying drinking at the side of the pool. I literally had to break up a fight between two 10 year old boys. Drink service is good but food can be slow because they rely on one of the restaurants in the hotel. If you plan to eat a meal, order waaaay ahead of time or you will end up with hungry kids like we did. Other reviews mentioned that it gets shady. On Vegas summer days that's a good thing, in my opinion. I also read some complaints about the sounds from the roller coaster, but I thought it was cool. This pool was so much fun! It is on the more simple side compared to other pools like Caesar's and Monte Carlo, but is still a very good pool. By time we checked in, hauled our things to the room and got to the pool, we literally had 3 minutes of sunshine before the sun disappeared behind a building. The pool is closely surrounded by buildings, so I'm guessing this is most likely a problem most of the year. There was also only one pool. Even on a slow Tuesday, it was packed. Small. There is a volleyball net bisecting the pool, but no volleyballs. All they had was very light weight beach balls. Shallow - the deepest part was 4'. Too much shade. Because of where it is situated with the buildings, at least half of the lounge chairs and pool are in entire shade at all times. NYNY guests can use their room key to get into the Monte Carlo pool next door. I highly suggest it. They have a regular pool, a wave pool, a lazy river, and an out of water sand volleyball court. read more

Yes the pool is smaller than most but the staff is incredible. If you looking to sit at a pool all day why are you going to Vegas. NYNY pool staff is great. All the other ultra pools are so over priced for drinks that your better off putting all that wasted cash on black or red on the roulette wheel. They do free drinks giveaways all day at the pool. The shady areas are great when it's 100+ degrees! Give the pool a shot just don't have high expectations and remember you can actually afford to buy several drinks there without getting a part time job to pay for them!!! read more

Bar tenders are very prejudice. Let me just say this woman bartender had a nice long conversation with the older white gentleman in front of me and the guy bartender just casually acted busy as me and an older white woman stood in line. When I arrived at the counter she asked what I wanted with an attitude and I didn't respond fast enough for her so she asked again with the same attitude. Mind you while I was standing there patiently waiting for her to finish up her pointless conversation with that gentleman in front of me this guy bartender decided to service the older white woman behind me. It's not like im transparent and he couldn't see me, I was the only pepper flake in a line of salt. Anywho I finally ordered my drinks and this woman placed the receipts on the counter and threw the pen at me to sign.
