When I first contracted with Pool and Deck, their payment schedule required the final payment to be made before the job was complete. Pool and Deck answered my objection, as you know where we are. Yeah, but it was a huge leap of faith for me. They held our hands throughout the entire project. With a project this big, you are going to have problems, and it's how they respond to the issues that make this company special. We used Pool and Deck Concepts for a total pool renovation- resurfacing, tile, pool deck, and screen. It was a great experience from start to finish, mostly because of Mark, our project manager. I have a job with very lengthy and odd hours, and whether I texted or called Mark early, late, or on a Sunday he was quick to respond every time. There were a few normal punchouts to be taken care of after installation, and they were addressed promptly. Price was reasonable and now our pool is beautiful!! read more

We recently completed a project (4/2022) with PDC and were very happy with the outcome. Very rarely do I go without a personal recommendation but after working with 5 other companies Trish earned our trust. Her knowledge, attention to detail and follow up was excellent especially in a world where those traits sometimes are not a priority. The project entailed a refinished pool, new skimmer, light, new water line tile new pavers and coping, new lower screens and 2 new screen doors. The project was actually finished sooner than we expected which was a nice surprise. This company continues to be very difficult to work with. I am not a complainer. I have many contractors that I recommend time and time again. I do not like writing bad reviews and hesitated to do so because this is a local, family owned company. The reason I am writing this is for you, if I had read a poor review on this company, I would not have gone with them. I want you to know this company is terrible at communication and customer service. This is not a "bargain" company, there price was more then most. The subcontractors were good, the overall job turned out well, although they were very messy even leaving their equipment leaning up against bushes on the neighbor's property. The project manager was non-existent. I was told something would be happening, come home find out no work was done at all. I would call HIM, and get an excuse. I understand working with subs, all I would have like is a call or text telling me so and so will not be showing up today. This lack of communication happened almost daily. The person I believe is the owner's sister is full of excuses and combative. The job was paid in full over a month ago, and I am still waiting for my salt system. The one they installed was faulty, it never worked and they are insisting I must go through a warranty process before it is working. It NEVER worked! Unreal in my opinion. This is just the last straw in a long line of horrible service and zero communication. If you are looking for a company that tells you someone is coming and they don't show up, time and time again, and that does not stand behind their work, and is full of excuses for poor communication and customer service, this is the one for you, otherwise I would look elsewhere. read more

So, the fact that we're writing a very positive review after experiencing some significant problems is an endorsement of Pool + Deck's professionalism and willingness to stand behind their work. So, here's our story. We hired Pool + Deck Concepts to completely renovate our lanai and pool/spa areas. About 18 months after the project was completed, we noticed a crack in the pool's pebble finish. Upon further inspection, we learned that the new finish was pulling away from the shell in multiple locations. Although both parties obtained input from different professionals, the exact cause of this failure was never fully explained. However, Pool + Deck did agree to correct the situation. Both Anthony Lofendo and Jenn Stampfi were personally involved in working through the problem identification and resolution phases. They executed the remediation plan flawlessly and in a timely manner. We are extremely happy to report that our pool once again looks beautiful! read more

Updated Proof of my past review... The week before hurricane Irma my pool and deck project was completed... After the hurriance everything was a total mess LOTS of DAMAGE pool/pavers/cage not covered by insurance. The Owner/President Anthony Lofendo and team couldn't be any more customer service orientated. They got my money for the completion of the project and could have moved on. Instead they gave me top priority fixed what needed and more also got me a new pool cage at a GREAT price. I could go on and on but truly shows the character of an organization for not just taking my money and running!!! I will say it again Pool and Deck Concepts they are totally professional and have lived up to everything they promised us and more. A total class act company and on the BBB that actually gets the job done right the first time with no surprises at fair and reasonable prices. Believe me we did our research spoke with others pretty scary... Anthony and team have been around the block and knows the business very well not to mention something we don't see now days, trustworthy and would 100% recommend him and his organization. i've had trouble with this company since the day they started installing my pool remodel. The owner of the company Anthony continues to use the phrase "within industry standards" as an excuse for shotty workmanship. In addition, they do not honor their warranty, and refuse to return phone calls or emails. I've spoken with other contractors who confirm Anthony's reputation in the Naples Florida market. Anthony, Tricia, Chassidy and Nick took over the completion of our pool during a difficult situation where another company dug out our pool, framed and shot the pool without a permit. The county threatened to make us rip it out but our heroes came together to remedy a difficult situation. My pool turned out beautiful. Just the way we wanted it. Everyone was so friendly the office staff, and the owner. The workers where courteous, friendly and cleaned up everyday after they were finished. Never left a mess. Our project was done on time. Writing today to recommend Pool & Deck Concepts. Anthony and Jen were the primary contributors to our project which was a cosmetic renovation, new automation of the pool system, new lighting & nook replacement, new salt system as well as a skimmer replacement to cure a leak which was the impetus for the project to start. All of the tile, glass block, skimmer and surface was removed expeditiously with minimal debris and what clean up was needed was done at the end of each work day. Additionally, we had an in floor valet system which worked but these systems have never been particularly functional. Anthony had a new and unique way of leveraging these pop ups by replacing with in floor returns which are quite discrete given they are also partially covered with the glass and stone surface finish. This mitigated the need for adding an additional return elsewhere which was a net benefit to the project and long term use of the pool. Bottom line, Anthony and Jen did a phenomenal job from start to finish. They were very responsive, professional, transparent and honest. The materials recommended, selected and ultimately used are beautiful and we are thrilled with the finished project. The team leading the work effort was diligent and fast while not sacrificing the craftsmanship; expertly aligning the tiles to achieve the look we desired when it all came fruition. Like with any significant project Anthony and I discussed the possibilities of delays for a variety of reasons. There are many unknowns heading into a project where you weren't the original builder and its construction was 20 years ago. We hit a couple of bumps along the way but the critical part of me mentioning is that they just kept working the problems with me until we had resolution. Love this about their effort as many times companies with wrap up and essentially wash their hand of the project an move on. Anthony and Jen remained highly involved until all our requirements were satisfied and want to commend them for the partnership. I will preface this by saying our pool is beautiful. Leo our project manager was terrific and went above what was expected. The negative is. I would never again hire a company that uses subcontractors. There were subcontractors that didn't show up , never called to say they weren't showing up and sub contractors that did subpar work. There was a subcontractor that ran over a neighbors sprinklers, ruined their sod and left garbage all over . At an additional expense we repaired that mess. The sub contractors didn't let Leo or us know they were not showing up . We are at the stage In Our build where workers are readying their work for final inspection and still sub contractors are not completing their jobs. But, Leo is still Showing up as promised and contacting us on a regular basis. He has kept us informed of all inspections and what is expected. Leo was constantly telling workers not to leave garbage ( cigarette butts, water bottles, etc) to no avail . We had written in our contract not to go on the neighbors property but the subcontractors did. Again, Leo was terrific, he did a great job dealing with neighbors though he had limited leeway in which to work. As a recommendation I would recommend Leo but not a company that uses sub contractors. It has now been two weeks since Leo noticed a section of tiles on our pool deck were sinking. He has tried to get subcontractors to fix this problem and though they said they were coming no one has showed up. Now unfortunately the area of sinking pavers is growing. It is in our contract that everything will be taken care of as written in the contract. I wonder if it is because our pool is paid in full and we are no longer a client that owes money? I did not have any issues with the time the pool was completed. Therefore I have no idea why that was addressed in the response. I did have the owners of the company put into our contract , not to go onto the zero lot line which is not our property. Anthony did observe the closeness of the homes and agreed to have that put into our contract. Therefore any subcontractors should have been advised not to trespass. In this continuing saga, pool and deck has been of no help in getting the new, never been used pool heater to work or complete any tile work that needs to be completed. Our project manager no longer works for the company . Hopefully another company will value him and will appreciate his dedication and knowledge. Once again we had to deal with this company. Due to the rain we have had the past few days our pool filled up to the rim. Any rain today would have caused the pool to overflow. Put in a call to Anthony . Got a call back from Ellie saying a technician would be out today. The technician came and informed us the overflow pipe was not installed properly. Water does not flow up. The pipe was put I the water line instead of lower where it should have been. He was able to fix it but in the process had to destroy some of our new landscaping. This is not a company I would recommend. This mistake could have been a lot worse and should have never happened. Once agAin we ran inTo problems with pool and deck concepts. We had to call to report our pool was now draining too much . We were told by the person who came to fix tHe problem that pool and deck has two teams . One inferior and one good. We werE sent the I inferior team that is why wee are having problems with our pipes. With a bit of luck our pipes are now fixed. I strongly recommend against using Pool & Deck Concepts. We used them for a massive (nearly $100K) pool and deck renovation. Their pricing was competitive, but the work quality was poor, hidden costs were everywhere, and the overall attitude towards us (the customer) was shockingly bad. Four issues: 1) At the outset, they placed a dumpster in our driveway that blocked us from getting our cars out of the garage for two days. We were home when this occurred, yet no one knocked on the door to advise us of what they were doing. I had to Uber to a business mtg in town the next day; 2) They didn't match the stucco texture they performed to the texture pattern already on the exterior of the house. It looks horrible ... amatuerish! When I asked them to fix it, they said matching stucco texture pattern isn't their responsible and I needed to get someone to fix what they did. This is irrational logic. They did the work incorrectly in the first place, yet I had to pay someone to fix it because its not their responsibility? 3) They put in all new pool equipment, but then said I needed to pay their electrician a premium because some of his work involved 240 V power which the contract didn't call for. Finally, 4) and possibly the most bizarre. Their president/owner Anthony was beyond rude and abrasive over a disagreement. He screamed over the phone at me. Yes, there are disagreements in business, but screaming at the customer is almost beyond belief. If I could have stopped the job, I would have fired them on the spot. Sadly, they already had a 50% deposit and I really couldn't fire them. Do not use them. They are clueless. There are way better contractors in town. read more

Pool and Deck Concepts designed and built our pool. Job started November 22 and we were swimming in it by February 8. I had no timeline to compare this build to since it was our first pool, but my neighbors all were impressed by how fast the pool was completed. There was hardly a day where there was not anyone working on our property. Everything went smoothly, and there were very minimal hiccups during the process. Chassidy was in constant contact with us through out the process. Anthony and Tricia both are true professionals and know their business. All of their workers, whether their own or sub-contracted were very professional and true artisans in their field. I highly recommend this company to install or refinish your pool. read more

First, I will begin by commenting on the 2 star rating below. Anyone who has hired a contractor to perform a large remodel, addition, rennovation, can testify that no matter whether the GC uses subs or not, there are scheduling issues, communication issues, people not showing up when they said they would. That's part of the process, and in particular, as the supply of labor dried up just as the demand for this type of work skyrocketed because of the pandemic you'd have to be a moron (or just an unreasonable person) not to expect the occasional issue as described. Pool and Deck Concepts advised us up front that there may be delays due to materials and labor. We were advised of this even before we signed a contract for the work. They could have easily told us what we wanted to hear to get us to commit. What more can you ask for? I thought they handled any issues with their subs smoothly and efficiently so we didn't have to. Just a text to our fantastic project manager and it was in their capable hands. As was attested to in the 2 star review, the resulting product came out fantastic! We couldn't be happier with the process and the final product. I hope this company is still in business when we build our next home or remodel another one becasue I wouldn't want to work with anyone else on a project like this. I highly recommend Pool and Deck Concepts without reserveration. Oh yeah, and by the way, their pricing was outstanding as well. I would have expected to pay more than I did.
