The vet was quick to arrive, all of the several times he was here including 3 times in one day, very thorough in his assessment and diagnostics and spent ALOT of time with my mare as well as alot of time reassuring me. He listened to all of my hypothesis' and addressed each one without making me feel like an overworried mom, as well as patiently viewing picture and video I sent and responding to each. I believe my mare is finally on the mend, and I have him and his colleagues to thank for it. I will recommend them every time.

Front desk staff, no matter the business, have a VERY difficult job, (one I'd NEVER want), more than people realize... despite everything they juggle and accomplish AND are able to keep a smile, their sanity, and tact in front of customers, (it's rare to find ones that really can now days) these guys DO! True customer service is a lost art. The assistants and doctors are grest as well. They take time to listen, educate, and even small talk. When we brought in a calming aid we had just purchased and administered to our pup so they were informed of any possible drug interaction prior to giving her injections (always disclose ANY medications or natural remedies to your doctors), the vet showed interest, read the ingredients, and said she would do some more research on this as it was a new product to her. Most vets/doctors just try to push foods and medications they are familiar with, their supply representatives push, or get a kickback from the drug companies on. The office overall is clean and has a warm feeling to it. They have a side room "store" full of products, food, supplies, and even toys to buy! They care about the whole animal as a "person". They are also less expensive than other places, not as greedy. I'd highly suggest you give them a try, you won't be sorry! Just be sure to call ahead in plenty of time to schedule as with any good place they book up fast. This vet clinic shipped semen in a USED disposable equitainer (labeled for one use only) to our…read moreequine repro facility- upon arrival, the contents were over 60 degrees (way too hot for cooled shipped semen) and the freezer pack enclosed was thawed; needless to say the semen was of very poor quality, it was a holiday weekend and there was not an option for another shipment in time for the mare to ovulate. Obviously the mare did not conceive. When we called them to inform them of the poor quality of the shipment, they stated that once the shipment leaves them it is out of their hands, and that they reuse disposable equitainers all the time!! Our repro facility informed us that they received a shipment the same day on the SAME truck from a similar location in a blue equitainer and the contents were in excellent condition. Very unethical, unprofessional, and CHEAP. Go elsewhere to have your semen shipped, do not waste your time or money here!!

My husband and I had a deeply traumatic experience with two staff members…read morefrom this clinic Tuesday, August 26 during the passing of our beloved 13 year old goldendoodle in our home. Staff were completely in over their heads, were unable to manage a peaceful transition and were grossly incompetent. After a 45+ minute long appointment, multiple rounds of sedation (for our sweet dog who was already in process of a natural transition when they arrived, they didn't even bother to check her vitals upon arrival) and attempting to inject two different rounds of euthanasia medicine unsuccessfully in 3 different limbs and ended up injecting her in her kidney (we think), I do not know that our dog did not suffer. Our entire experience before, during and after the appointment was unprofessional and the communication was and continues to be terrible. And to the person at the clinic who told me on the phone to "park next to the dumpster" when I went to pick up our dog yesterday to take her to the crematorium in Spokane myself: wow, that level of compassion was unbelievable to top off an already horrific experience. We will never set foot in that business again. Update Sept 3, 2025: multiple staff at VCA North Idaho Animal Hospital have called me and we have had honest conversations around our experience. My family is grateful to the clinic for the follow up. Our experience start to finish was a domino effect of problems, miscommunications and inability to manage the situation that led to the 1 star review. The clinic staff seem sincere making some changes as a result of our feedback, however we will choose to go with a different provider in the future.
