This is one of the - if not THE - most beautiful spots in the Verzasca Valley. The bridge dates back to medieval times (even though destroyed in the 19th Century and rebuilt in the 60s).
The river Verzasca runs under the bridge in the most insane colours - if you visit on the right day in the right season. Gotta be a bit lucky. All the shades of green and blue, it's an amazing sight.
The bridge itself is made of stone and has two arches and is quite narrow. We were lucky to visit on a day when only a handful people were around. Made some good pics and we really had time to enjoy the views, sit back on one of the benches and having a picknick while looking at the bridge. It's a beautiful spot here. You also can swim here, but be careful. After heavy rain the waters can be fast and even deadly.
Parking is just next to on the main road. On a busy day I image it can fill up easy, but on the day we went there were lots of empty spaces.
The Verzasca Valley is really a place you shouldn't miss, especially this location here. Best if you have your own wheels, since public transport is limited. read more
