I am a mother of and a grandmother of four. When my children were young, I was looking for a no-nonsense pediatrician. When my sister introduced me to Pontchatrain pediatrics, Doctor Carlos Vides was awesome. He now takes care of three out of the four grandbaibes and is still awesome. Dr. Vides is caring and really listens to you as a parent or grandparent. He tells it like it is and explains everything so you can understand it. Had made appointment before my daughter got sick, however I called after she got sick and spoke to nurse practitioner I was told to take her to Er or keep my appointment. I showed up to appointment and my daughter was turned away for a viral infection the receptionist basically called me a liar saying that's not what the nurse told me. I have witnesses as my phone was on speaker to what she told me. If they had canceled with me I would not have drove 45 mins to go there. The ONE time my daughter actually needed a "DOCTOR" she was turned away and I was called a liar. Zero star service here. Every things good as long as your kids healthy and doesn't actually need a Doctor but when you do need one these garbage people are not here. if you're going to ponchatrain pediatrics in mandeville la & see leslie lyons brown i would suggest you change your pediatrician!!! while trying to explain what i want my daughter to be tested for , keep in mind i do not know exactly the tests that need to be ran thats why im there explaining myself to begin w, she wants to shut me down , try to make me feel ignorant while explaining myself almost arrogantly & then tells me 'listen im really swamped the "baby" looks fine ' & then proceeds to leave the room ! first of all her name is nyah ! my baby has been running 103 fever since monday & now breaking out in hives & just threw up all over the doctors office right before she comes in to say 'the baby is fine' !!! i will continue to broadcast how unprofessional & rude 98% of your office is ! i will bring my baby somewhere where she will be treated properly & with love ! if you cant take the time for each & every baby equally & just as diligent then get a new job leslie brown!! completely rude ! idc if it takes me all day to explain myself about my baby thats what u are being paid to do !!! listen & help!!!! horrible place i do not recommend anyone to go to ponchatrain pediatrics ! today as i sit @ children's hospital, my daughter is still not doing well ! i'm having to explain to them why im here & not @ my pediatrician's office.... such a shame . still haven't been reached out to by ponchatrain pediatrics about how outrageously rude LESLIE LYONS BROWN is & how unprofessional & indecent she was toward my daughter & i !!!! i have been told by multiple people that leslie lyons brown is the reason they have left ponchatrain pediatrics.! mandeville is a small city ! i hope & pray parents take head to this review ! i will continue spreading the word!!! UPDATE!!!!!!!! i brought my daughter to children's yesterday to finally figure out what's going on & they diagnosed her w adenovirus! there is no cure for this virus & takes about 10 days to run it's course. it is highly contagious for other babies so it's important that she be quarantined until it has finished running it's course ! i just want to say Leslie Lyons Brown you don't deserve to be a pediatrician ! you told me ur swamped , im basically not a priority , & my baby looks fine , but she wasn't fine , ACTUALLY she has a very contagious virus that could get other babies sick , but because you're lazy , not diligent , & simply just do not care you put a lot of other babies @ risk as well.! you should not be trusted w our precious angels bc although it is just a job to you & just a schedule booked up w names ... THEY ARE OUR WORLDS !!! & you will not get away with how you treated my daughter !!!! good job of taking care of the babies of this community.... My son has been seeing Dr. Vides since he was born and we love him! He always takes the time to answer any and all questions we have. His nurses are also great at calling you back in a timely manner and are very helpful, especially Brandy. I would highly recommend this practice, in general, but definitely Dr. Vides and his nurses. When we can't see him, we usually see Dr. Templet who is also wonderful! read more

Would recommend Dr. Greene! I drive an extra 20 minutes just to go to Ponchatrain Pediatrics bc I trust her so much

I was really hopeful at my first visit because honestly, the nurses and staff were all very well trained and amazing. What completely ruined it for me is their billing department and office manager. Absolutely the WORST service and manners I have ever experienced. I'd say we have fantastic insurance, we have never been billed for a sick visit from a pediatrician ever in all my years living here. When I called to try and iron things out between them and my insurance company (BCBS), the billing department manager was SO RUDE and basically couldn't care less about how to try to fix or alleviate the issue. I asked to talk to the office manager, and she NEVER called me back. So I played back and forth between them and my insurance company for WEEKS and it's been an absolute nightmare. I had a friend who does medical billing look at the EOB and her words were "The person doing the medical billing there should go back to school. She doesn't know what she's doing." I filed a grievance with my insurance company and a few days later, I received a letter from the office manager at Pontchartrain Peds that was FULL of grammar and spelling errors (not surprising, really) basically firing me as a patient (which is fine because there was NO WAY I was ever going back). It's really a sad situation when you have fantastic doctors and nurses who are not supported by a great office staff. I highly suggest that unless you have medicaid and will never have to deal with insurance companies and the billing dept here, don't go. Run for the hills. Because it was like pulling teeth trying to get answers and trying to figure out why I was being billed for services not rendered. I even had to file a complaint with the state! Absolutely ridiculous. They should have just tried to work with my insurance company instead of being all high and mighty thinking they've done nothing wrong, especially since their office manager doesn't know the differences between a 'litter' and a 'letter' or how to use a period. If they find new office personnel, I might change my review. read more
