They had a cute barn, decent size areas to ride, close to the trails, a stall, small private turnout areas and private tack closets. I brought my horse there a few weeks later. Things started off just fine for a while, then the things the owner had said would be taken care of never were. The rings were never dragged, weeks would go by. I could see not dragging the outdoor but the covered ring would freeze over and you had no where to do anything with your horse. The owner had stuck a round pen in the middle of the outdoor arena which turned it into a racetrack. I mean why was i paying board at a place with 2 arenas if neither have footing that is rideable? The workers were nice but knew nothing about horses. I would come out and find my horse in his turn out with his halter on and found him caught on the tree branches that hung into the pasture. Not to mention the hay nets that they had out in their turnouts, which is great to not waste hay, but not so great when they wouldn't throw the hay out that was left after it had rained. I would find moldy hay in horses hay net almost weekly or multiple times a week (depending upon the weather). The final straw for my was then the owner had these hay boxes made for the stalls. My horse is long and tall standing at 17.2, so adding something extra that extending off the stall wall doesn't work well. I understood the owners reasoning but I would have appreciated being asked if I wanted in my horses stall, that I pay for. I mean that would be like a landlord sticking something in your apartment without your say so. Anywho, these hay boxes were low, which a hay net hanging from them to the ground (they were may be 3ft off the ground). The edges of these custom boxes were not sanded . I had expressed my dislike of these boxes but my concerns were ignored. Needless to say, I got a text from the owner one day, while I was at work saying my horse ripped his face open while in his stall (she had no idea what it could have been). I rushed down there on my break, thankfully my vet said he didn't need the flap of skin hanging off his face didn't need stitches. My horses stall had blood smeared all over the walls, after a walk through I found a chunk of hair, skin and blood on the edge of the hay box. I was curious. The owner of the barn did not even apologize for what happened to my horse. Needless to say I came back later with a drill and took down the hay box. In short no I do not recommend this place. There are way more horses on the property than legally allowed to have according to the town of Islip. The only redeeming quality of this disgusting barn are the people and the horses who board there.

Also i rode a Race Horse, that my sister bought, and brought it out to a nice area, close to home. I've been to many Dude Ranches- where my father was allowed to take us children out with him. He taught us to ride. I've galloped many times on a horse, in open land. I didn't need some unknowledgeable woman, telling me what to do. And only addressing myself and my daughter's, on how to ride. I spoke up, and said look around no one is riding perfectly. She then stopped talking. I have told all my family and friends not to go there. The horses seem exhausted, and there stables are filthy. These poor horses need new owners. They should be closed down, as soon as possible. And I will keep telling people stay away from these dirty, rude, ignorant people.

Diana was our guide and she was super informative and taught us about each of our horses personalities (Tarzan, Pat and Dudley) the trails were comfortable to ride and it was a great experience for all levels (beginner to advanced). I happen to lease but boarding is also an option. They take great care of their horses and property. Clean, organized and well maintained. There are so many riding stables that are much closer to my home, but I prefer to ride here (it's one of long islands best kept secrets) because everyone is so nice and there's no attitude or drama (unlike other stables on the island). I always feel like I have the ring to myself which is hard to find on the weekends. This farm is not massive but that's one of the things I like about it. Michelle treats all the horses like her personal pets and takes such good care of them. All of the horses I've ridden were amazing. Beau is by far my favorite horse but Kellie and Kiowa are also great. My 9 year old son used to take lessons on Kiowa and Pistol Pete. Michelle was great with him. Even though he wasn't really into riding she was so patient. Now he just loves to hang out at the farm while I ride on Saturdays. I've watched Michelle teach many children's lessons and noticed she explains riding in a way that children understand. With me (an adult that returned to the ring after a 30 year hiatus) she's soft spoken and provides quality feedback. She's certainly not one of those trainers that yells at you. If you're looking for a laid back down to earth stables with quality horses and a great trainer then look no further. You'll find your home here.

They also had a couple of fall lessons over the last few years. She tried to book lessons for a weekend in October and was very aggressively pursued by a young teenager giving lessons to book. Although the price was now much higher, she decided to book 2 half hour lessons for the girls ($200). She was charged $2,500 for some package. The teenager had referred to a package but it was not clear to my daughter that she was being asked to sign up. How do you charge a person that amount without any indication that this charge is being applied to review? What kind of sales strategy is this to make young teenagers hound clients to lure them into a package deal that is not fully explained and charged to their account without giving them the opportunity to review charges and agree to them? This is a scam!
