Came back to Lisbon to visit family and since I have heard good things about Pondi's and that they recently remodeled I was excited to try it. The service was good considering she was busy with a lot of tables. I ordered the sirloin with blue cheese and added mushrooms with rice pilaf. I ordered my steak medium...considering they have a meat market , I thought it would have been a good choice however my first steak came out well done...very dry and I tried to eat it but had to send it back. I received another steak to replace the first and this one came back not quite well done but def not medium and did not get my mushrooms that I had added. I tried to eat the steak as much as I could but left deeply disappointed. Will possibly try again because the other food around me looked good. Just very unhappy with mine. read more

If you ever pass through Lisbon, THIS is the place to stop for a bite. Their food menu is predominately Italian but if you have ever tried their sloppy wings you will crave them for the rest of your life. The dining experience is nice, but evenings can get pretty noisy with a full bar. The waitresses go out of their way to make you comfortable and happy, in the many years I've been coming here there has never been a bad one. Perfect experience every time. read more

Pondis is the sort of place you wouldn't know about unless someone told you about it, which is a shame because it's pretty legit. Poindis is in small town restaurant in Lisbon Ohio, which in & of itself is practically the middle of nowhere. Unless you're going to Federal Prison or the annual Jonny Appleseed Festival there's really no reason to be there. So, Pondis is a pretty inconspicuous. It's built into an old house in the middle of a residential area, you'd drive right past it if you didn't know it was there. But, you'll be glad you didn't. The food is AMAZING & definitely leans toward the gourmet side of things at non-gourmet prices. What really impressed me is the variety of items, especially with regards to their specials. I think they are supposed to be a steak house, but they are so much more than that. They regularly have seafood, Italian, & burger options. But, the daily specials can get kinda crazy. Heck, I've seen Ramen & Pho on deck for specials! You can tell the Chefs have a real passion for food - generally speaking. I'll finish my review with one complaint. If you're coming specifically for a special make sure to get their early, moreover, they have a bad habit of running out early. Which is EXTREMELY frustrating if you've driven 45min to an hour. So with that being said Pondis is pretty great. If you're in the area make sure to drop in & sample their wares, may even be worth a drive to small town America. Returned for visit after recent renovation. Decor improved but in the black grey mono look. Already over this look. Sat in the speakeasy room. Kinda loud due to flooring and being next to waitress station. Over heard a lot of ugly gossip at the waitress station which was distracting and unprofessional. Food was ok this time I had a special haddock with crab stuffing. Stuffing lacked the crab and was overly salty. The cocktails were excellent and the kitchen was clean. Our waitress was good. Management needs to rethink the waitress stand and the ugly gossiping. read more

This is the go to restaurant if you live even vaguely close to Lisbon. The Angry Chicken Alfredo is one of my favorite dishes anywhere in the country. The steak salad is what all steak salads are measured against and the build your own burger option is hard to beat. I hadn't been there since the early 80's. The food was, without any doubt, out of this world. service was great. It's a little cramped right now but they are in progress with a big addition! Big deal. The menu is full of a good variety of foods. A lovely graphic menu is needed, the food deserves it. I want to take the 5 hour trip again back home just to have dinner again! We. Ate. Like. Kings. The Meatball appetizer was great. Huge, not too spicy, and chock full of the right blend of meats- not bloated out with bread fillers. Highly enjoyable.we spoiled ourselves and ordered the Calamari as well-the sweet chili sauce was just right for the crispy bites. And there were plenty. Including all those Italian receptions we went to when I was a kid, their Italian Wedding Soup was the very best I have ever had. Plentiful with ingredients and savory. I almost wished it was mid-December as it would be a great soup to warm you up as well. The bread was fresh and over the top. For my entree I got the Broiled Scallops with asparagus accompaniment. Sell my clothes, I'm going to heaven! Fantastic taste, cooked perfectly and firm. I was hard pressed as what to choose so I have perfect reason to go back- multiple times! And I will. I can't say enough about the service and the amazing food. Sat in the bar area as it was busy at 12:30 in the afternoon. It's generally busy but when you have award winning service no food. I resisted this place for years even though many friends recommend it. Then one evening my husband insisted.. I had the meatball bake the i was hooked. Literally THE BESTMEATBALLS!!! They tried to fix the issue but the freshly homemade batch of meatballs were all spicier than they normally are, per the waitress. The food here is excellent, as is the service. However, I went during an Ohio State Game and the whole bar area was filled with yelling people without masks. I felt okay with social distancing in the dining area, but you have to walk through all the screaming maskless people to get to a table. The owner was also visiting different tables without a mask on. I know many people who will not go back because of this. read more
