    Fajita salad
    Trish L.

We came to Pondi's as a group of 4 for dinner on a Sunday evening. The bar area had football on and the dining room was decently full. After watching several parties file in just before us, I was sure we'd have a wait but was pleasantly surprised when we were seated right away. The dining room is full of old photos chronicling the history of the business and the key individuals involved in its success. Our waitress was amazing and was as available as she could be, considering the crowd on hand. We all ordered from the Sunday Features menu with two of us ordering the steak dinner, two orders of the wing platter, and one fajita salad with steak. The fries and boneless wings on the platter were crispy and fresh. I'm not sure if the bleu cheese was homemade or not but it was delicious and creamy. I had the steak dinner with no onions and asked for it medium rare. The person next to me asked for the same, but more towards well done. I think our steaks came out looking identical; both had a little pink. Despite that, the steaks were juicy and flavorful and covered in a hearty gravy. We both agreed that the side of green beans were bland and needed a little seasoning, at least. The mashed potatoes were fine. My boyfriend loved the fajita salad, particularly the chipotle dressing. The parking lot extends across the street and it is a little dangerous crossing that busy road, especially during dusk.

Pondi's never disappoints. Specials are always off the charts! Great food, great drinks, and exceptional service! The wedding soup is just like mamma used to make!!!

Wait time on a Friday night was not bad. Place was busy, hostess was attentive to each group. Food was really good and large portions. Desserts were really good.

Went here with friends for dinner on a Friday evening. The restaurant has a few dining rooms, and the place was very busy. (I recommend having reservations before going.) when you enter through the front door, you'll be greeted by a hostess, and taken to your table. (They also have a full bar.). The menu is extensive, and there is something for everyone. We were greeted immediately by our server, who took our drink orders and brought us oven-fresh dinner rolls. From the menu, I chose the North Atlantic Cod fish dinner. It came with a choice of two side dishes. I opted for a salad and french fries. My wife chose Chicken Parmesan over ravioli, and got a side salad as well. This was a real chicken breast, not a patty, and it was prepared perfectly. We both enjoyed our meals, although I will say the pasta sauce was unlike the homemade sauce we have at home. (This is not a slam on Pondi's... it's just that Italians will generally prefer a sauce that is like their own family's traditional sauce.). We had a very enjoyable dining experience here. Recommended!

It's rare that I will feel confident in giving an establishment a full 5 stars. Especially a restaurant serving Italian food. As the old adage says, "if you want great Italian food at a restaurant, come to my home instead." This is one of those rare cases where one's need for Italian will be well satiated. The atmosphere is relaxed and not too noisy, even with a full room. Jeans and t-shirt are more than acceptable, but if you want to dress up a little that will work too. Date night appropriate! Ordered an appetizer - Hot peppers in oil with garlic bread. It was 4 stars. Very good but maybe not amazing. Would have been perfect if the peppers came piping hot. The real star the evening was the Eggplant Parmesan with Spaghetti and the homemade Lasagna. A true test of an Italian restaurant, in my opinion, is the simplest things like spaghetti marinara. One can really taste if fresh ingredients are used and if the seasoning is done right. This was a very very close second to my wife's home made - from tomatoes she's canned marinara. If you are looking for homemade this is the spot. And then comes the Eggplant Parmesan. Incredible is the easiest way to explain the dish. The lasagna - to keep things simple - was just as amazing as the Eggplant Parmesan. Perfect balance of sweetness of the tomato sauce and rich meaty flavor of the rest. Slowly fading in a Italian Food Coma so the story ends here. If you're within an hour drive of Pondi's make sure to come here. Everyone smiles at you and makes you feel at home, like famiglia. You will not be disappointed.

The food was bussin! We decided to try something different in small town Ohio. Wow!! From the moment we walked in .... Service was spectacular! We were greeted and welcomed graciously. The bloody Mary's were perfectly seasoned and garnished with crispy bacon and olives. The Brussels sprouts sweet potato hash was phenomenal!! Cohort got the chicken and waffles. Insanely good cutlets!! So good in fact we went downstairs and purchased meats for Sunday night family dinner

    Fried Cheese Cheeseburger

Killer burgers !!!! This place was a hidden gem. We arrived in Pittsburgh and decided to drive to the NFL HOF in Canton, and pick up lunch on the way. I have no idea how we got so lucky to pick this place along the way. It wasn't planned - just pure coincidence. The waitress was very friendly, and also very attentive. I ended up ordering the Fried Cheese Cheeseburger. The menu said it came with a "wheel" of cheese on it. I totally underestimated what that meant! It was a LARGE chunk of fried cheese that was lowered on a cloud from the heavens above! It made that burger so freaking delicious, and my mouth is watering right now just talking about it!!! It was single-handedly the best burger I've EVER had in my entire life, and I'm not even exaggerating. I also asked to add chili and cheese to my French fries, and the visibly-impressed server exclaimed that she loved the idea. Everything about my meal on the way to Canton was perfect, and it truly became a highlight of my Pittsburgh trip. Next time I'm anywhere within two hours of this place, I definitely plan to come have that burger again!!

Stopped for early dinner, I had seafood sampler that was better than a seafood restaurant. My wife had the Steak salad that was so large will be eating for a few days. The service is the best and lclean in side

WOW! This place is spectacular. The food is delicious and the service was outstanding. A smaller restaurant and bar, but definitely a gem. The menu has a nice variety of mouth watering options to choose from. I went with the wedding soup to start out with and it was simply the best I've ever had. Literally could have drank the broth it was so flavorful. For my entree I went with the angry chicken alfreado and it was equally as amazing. The chicken almost melted in my mouth and was bursting with flavor. The pasta was cooked just right and the sauce was giving. I'm a big fan of all things gorgonzola. The portions were huge. I had plenty of leftovers to take home. Our waitress was friendly and attentive throughout our time there. The place was packed and she handled it very well. I loved everything about this place and highly recommend it.

We went to Pondis as it was highly recommended while visiting the area. Our service was excellent and waitress was very friendly. We enjoyed our meal and would definitely go back if we return to that part of Ohio. My steak salad was a great size portion and the steak was cooked perfectly. My husband enjoyed his filet meal as well. We would definitely return when we're visiting or in that part of town!

The service was amazing, felt like hometown service. The server was really nice and attentive even when it was super busy there. Great ambiance with great food and drink for amazing prices. We got the angry chicken Alfredo was delicious. I would absolutely go here again and wish there were places like this in DC

BBQ Bacon Burger with wimpy, not-so-good fries
    J E.

While working in Lisbon a group of us came here for lunch... this place seems very popular, as it was packed at lunchtime! The menu is vast and interesting. The staff was friendly and helpful. The food was great! I tried a cup of their chili and it was great! Nice spice to it and very tasty! Next up was their bacon BBQ burger and it was made perfectly! The fries weren't very good, as they say they're handcut, but they were clearly cooked and sat in under a heat lamp, because they were wimpy, unseasoned, and barely warm. But other than the fries, we all enjoyed our food and the service. Highly recommend stopping in here!

Johnny Marzetti delicious!! So much food, this is the lunch portion. Taking this home.

It's packed but do not get impatient, they have this down to a science and you are usually called within 20-30 minutes or less. It depends on the line. The food is tasty, very delicious. The pies... yum o'lala. Clean, everyone is kind. Oh and the Amish families eat there, so you know it has to be good. Our guest ate from the Buffett, we eat from the menu.

There's a buffet or menu items to choose from. We got the buffet. Full salad bar with fresh ingredients, local cheese. Cold salads like macaroni and broccoli. The croutons were good, crunchy but not break your teeth and they had a variety of breads they used. Fresh bacon pieces. The hot foods bar had: -fried chicken (VERY good, highly recommend) -cabbage casserole (little too cheesy for me) -corn (very very sweet, interesting) -noodles (YUM!!!) -dressing (what they call stuffing, it was good) -bbq ribs (fall of the bone but I thought the sauce could be better, have more flavor) -green beans (basic, would be better with seasoning/butter) -mashed potatoes and gravy (yum!) We had good service and overall the buffet was a better deal than ordering something off the menu, especially if you wanted to try a couple different things. It was a good way to get a wide variety of items. Lemonade was very fresh
