The owner has taken my call three times when I was having health issues with my Koi (not purchased from them) and he had expert advice.

Service is warm, intelligent, and deeply informed. Plant selection for quality native plants is very good. Their plants are a little pricey --(perhaps 10-15% more than Home Depot for example) but they stand behind their plants/products. Any plants or products that don't work out, just bring your receipt and they will give you a store credit or credit your card. Much of the value Harmony offers is in the quality of the products, the plants, and the intelligent service. Seriously, there is nowhere else I could go to find out how to dig up a fern from acidic soil, and properly care for it while it overwinters before planting it under a nearby redwood tree in the Spring! Harmony Farms also carries extraordinarily unique products, such as Stella Natura's biodynamic planting guide and a wide variety of seasonal, organic specialty plants as well as hard-to-find organic soil amendments. Parking is abundant. They're located just off of the Hwy 101/Penngrove exit heading east. A large sign that says "Barn" offers a fairly quick turn on your R into a wide gravel driveway. Enjoy!

Another reason I really like harmony is they have a lot of unusual varieties that you could only get if you sent for the seed and started them yourself. They have an amazing collection of healthy plants, succulents, cacti, bonsai trees as well as numerous greenhouses you can walk through filled with all kinds of potted plants. Their selection is varied and not what you would normally see at other nurseries. I've noticed their plants at other stores so they wholesale as well. When the weather is nice, it is a peaceful quiet place to take a leisurely stroll and enjoy the property. Their employees are always very friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. I searched most of the east bay and finally got a few recommendations from expert plant growers to head up to Sebastopol and visit Lone Pine Gardens. Almost an hour and a half drive and the entrance is just a gate off on Lone Pine with only a couple of places to even park on the narrow road. But definitely worth the drive if you're looking for a variety of Bonsai at different stages and for incredibly reasonable prices. Lone Pine has a fantastic variety of species, stages, and styles of Bonsai plants and trees. What I liked l most was the variety of prices and sizes. Most places charge an arms and a leg but an early bonsai here is close to half the price at other places. The bonus was the nice variety of succulents. A bit out of the way, but the best place to shop for bonsai and browse succulents and other potted plants.

Andy and Drew came by and made great suggestions as to what to plant to replace them, to compliment the 1 remaining date palm. We followed their guidance and selected 2 Mediterranean fan palms. Andy, Jesus and team then prepared the site (large, deep holes had to be dug by hand because of access issues), and organized and executed the whole delivery and planting process (which is pretty complex when you're dealing with tall trees weighing about 2500 lbs each, necessitating a crane to lift them into position). The palms are now in the ground and look beautiful, we couldn't be happier! If you are thinking of planting palms or bamboo, look no further!
