Being an amateur furniture maker myself and also having been in the wood industry my whole career, I love wood. The furniture that Brent and his craftsmen make at Clear Lake Furniture is top notch. They have many different designs that you will not find in any furniture store and the quality is exceptional. After we checked out the showroom with a good representation of the what they can do I noticed a sign on the doorway that leads down to there shop which invites you to go down and explore the shop and talk with their craftsmen. Well I couldn't pass that up so down we went. We were welcomed by Mark who was very glad to show us around and see some of the beautiful woods they use to make their amazing furniture. That recliner arrived just before Christmas. It had /has an odd odor that is still detectable and the upholstered job is very shoddy. It's somewhat of a plaid and bilaterally it doesn't match. I stopped by the store with pictures and my balance and reported my dissatisfaction. A woman named Kate said she would call me the following week and schedule a visit to "smell" ( I don't know ) the odor. No call or visit. I called the store a week ago and spoke with Steve. I recapped my story. Steve proceeded to advise me he has been there 5 years and has never heard of complaints like mine. I told him the odor is secondary to the bad upholstery job and I wasn't satisfied. Steve also proceeded to tell me he's having problems with a car mechanic . . . ."everyone has problems ". Not helpful. Now I will have to chase after Kate, I guess since she doesn't seem to return phone calls as requested. If no satisfaction on this chair Harris Furniture will never see a dime of my money again.

Read Clarke retired after a lifetime of commitment and service to the community and this store was sold to Rocky's Hardware, a New England chain based in Springfield MA, with 48 stores including in Ohio, Pennsylvania and Florida. Rocky's is family owned. Although most of the original employees are no longer working there, it still remains a super community place in small-town New England. The employees are super friendly and eager to assist. The Ace Hardware affiliation means they can take advantage of a worldwide supply chain. Since the turnover, stock variety has visibly increased. Another addition to their offerings include online ordering. It was sad to see the old family move away. But if it had to, Rocky's is a welcome presence in the community.
