This is our second trip to Pomo this year and it is one of our favorite places to camp. We love that the sites feel more private than other places that we have camped. You know your neighbors are there but the site has vegetation all around it so you don't really see any of your neighbors. The showers are pretty nice for campground showers. The WiFi was not the best when we came in July but we saw some people working around the antenna. The WiFi is fantastic on this trip. I feel surprised at some of negative reviews. Everybody that we have encountered here has been very pleasant. There is also lots of stuff to do in the area. We already booked a site for next summer and look forward to coming back.

Very private and clean camping spot. It's super quiet and dark at night.

Pomo was a hidden gem. We usually stay at the state park but it's impossible to get reservations at MacKerricher. A friend recommended Pomo and we're so glad we stayed. The individual spots were immaculate. Clean new gravel, fairly level and very private. We usually dry camp, so having hook ups for water / power was a rare treat. We enjoyed this campground so much I'm not sure we will ever camp at the state park again. On our particular stay there was some dog barking going on- but it wasn't a bother and we were just glad it wasn't our dog. We stayed two nights & will return again soon. As a bonus- I could hear the fog horn and ocean buoy near by. It's also super close to the Mendo Botanical Garden. We didn't use the cable so I can't speak to that issue. Internet was spotty with ATT but that's just how it is on the coast.

Cool nights means enjoying the fire pits

We always enjoy staying at pomo no matter what the season is. The campgrounds are nice and clean with hedges and trees between the sites. We used the game room which was very nice for our group to be able to play games and stay warm.

Office staff where very accommodating when I called to make my reservation, camp host drove by to make sure our wifi was working, it was. Bathrooms and showers were very clean, $1.25 for 5 minutes for shower with adjustable temperature. The park is conveniently located with a 5 minute drive to town and beach access

    Really nice!

Ask the Community - Pomo Campground

Is there cell service with Verizon?

I've gotten 1-2 bars (ref my previous Pomo review), so, yes there's Verizon service. Seems Fort Bragg is a bit thin on Verizon cell towers. Because our travel trailer is…

I have tried to call all day..... . Can't even reach voicemail. *CONSTANT BUSY SIGNAL* Clearly the phone is deliberately off the hook. Found another campground. Not impressed. I guess they don't need the business?

They actually laugh about the hold times! I was in the office once and heard the old bag. They also don't take credit cards, check or cash only.

Make sure to read the contract fully as there is no cancellation policy. While the property is…read moreprivate, the owner goes around daily taking photos of occupied campsites and posting them on the campground's blog without notice or consent. Nowhere on the property or in the conditional use agreement we signed does it state that photos of guests will be taken and shared online. When we confronted the owner around 8:30 PM on our last evening and asked him not to post our photos (especially of our underage children), he became defensive and accused us of being "aggressive" simply for voicing our concerns. Things escalated, and at 9:30 PM he returned--unnecessarily late, especially with children present--just to inform us that our account was closed. His behavior was rude, intimidating, and unprofessional. Aside from this, the park itself has several issues we wish we'd known about beforehand: *Showers: Small stalls with only a plastic curtain, and the coin dispenser is on the opposite wall--requiring either a towel maneuver or walking across the room unclothed to insert coins to start the shower. *Bathrooms: While they had paper towels and toilet paper, they ran out of toilet paper twice during our 5 day stay. Maintenance staff (who were pleasant) came by a few times but didn't restock until another camper asked. There was no soap in the dispensers, but store-bought soap bottles were left out (unclear if by staff or guests). *Women's bathroom: The first stall (handicap) doesn't lock properly and is only held closed by a magnet that can easily be pushed from the other side. *Dishwashing: No proper dishwashing area. The sinks available were being used for gutting fish, which felt unsanitary. Based on our experience, the owner is unreasonably confrontational and dismissive of guest concerns. Instead of resolving issues professionally, he resorts to blaming guests and creating unnecessary conflict. His behavior made our stay uncomfortable, and we will not be returning or recommending this park.

This is hands down the worst RV park we have stayed at. Here is a list of all the reasons that make…read moreit terrible. In short, AVOID. 1) the owners are not only rude, but all the long term tenants (and this place is mostly people that live here full time) are scared of them. It's so weird, we had the permanent folks approach us on 3 different occasions telling us we were doing something wrong and the owners are super strict and they just don't want us getting in trouble. We got approached right when we arrived. Again the next morning. And one of them approached us again in the laundry room. We are parents of two kids, we weren't partying at all or even at the site to just sleep. So weird. 2) since it's mostly long term folks, this is their home, I get it, they don't want a bunch of vacationers ruining what they have going on, but why on earth are you even allowing people to camp for a few nights. It's crazy weird here. 3) no kids at all, nothing for kids to do. Don't come here if you want a kid friendly place. 4) your neighbors are literally a few feet away. Their picnic table is directly next to yours. 5) you have to hold your sewage connection down with a rock (I'm not kidding) 6) the people who live here full time, their dogs can bark but yours can't. I heard dogs barking constantly but we were approached by the owner after being gone for 1.5hr and she snarled and said "your dog was acting a fool" (her exact words) so we were forced to board our dogs bc their is no way our dogs won't bark when there are other dogs barking constantly a few feet away. 7) site is not nice Photos attached of our neighbors picnic table next to ours & our other neighbors on the other side of us to show how close you are. ****update in response to "business employee"**** This is by far the nicest and most respectful I have been spoken to by an employee since I arrived at the RV park. I have to wonder if they have someone managing their social media or who this person is, because they certainly weren't speaking to my family this way at the site. Also we were not offered a site in the back initially. We were told that there was a long term tenant with a skittish dog and it would not be good for us to be back there with our kids & dogs. When I brought up the space issue again after I was rudely approached and was told my "dog was acting a fool" (this is exactly how I was spoken to) she told me that there were sites in the back that did not have full hookups. This was after our first of two very uncomfortable nights there. Also - most sites there have stones over their sewage connection, so a bit surprised by their response on that topic.

Nice place to come for the first time visitor to Fort Bragg…read more My wife, her mom, and I came to visit Fort Bragg (named after the same person that the more famous Fort Bragg in North Carolina is named after) on our way down from redwood forest parks to spend the night in San Francisco. One of the more famous tourist attractions in the area is Glass Beach, so named for the once plentiful sea glass that dotted the shoreline. It was stop number 12 (14:01) on day 5 of our road trip. It is located in Noyo Headlands Park, where there was plentiful parking, even later in the afternoon. The glass originated from a city dump that operated until 1967. There wasn't much left. Thus most colors of the glass pebbles were the common green, brown, and clear color of beer (and soda) bottles. To get down to the area where the glass accumulates, requires going down a non-paved hill from the bluff, so wasn't possible for Mom. We did get some good pictures of the area. And there was a cool carved piece of driftwood, resembling a whale near the benches where we sat, admiring the scenery.
