Reasonably priced RV sites, well kept grounds, convenient location! We stayed here before and were looking for somewhere to stay on a Thursday night as we were passing through heading north so were happy they had some spots left on such short notice. For partial hook up, 10% military discount, the price was around $61, and were able to pay online. We checked in late after the office had closed where they left our site info for us. The grounds are clean, quiet and luckily we had the showers/bathrooms across from us. The showers require quarters, where if $1.25 for a 4 minute shower. Both the bathrooms and showers were well maintained and clean. We checked out in the morning. We definitely recommend and would come back when passing through. read more

This is our second trip to Pomo this year and it is one of our favorite places to camp. We love that the sites feel more private than other places that we have camped. You know your neighbors are there but the site has vegetation all around it so you don't really see any of your neighbors. The showers are pretty nice for campground showers. The WiFi was not the best when we came in July but we saw some people working around the antenna. The WiFi is fantastic on this trip. I feel surprised at some of negative reviews. Everybody that we have encountered here has been very pleasant. There is also lots of stuff to do in the area. We already booked a site for next summer and look forward to coming back. read more

This was our first time trying this campground. Heard good and bad things about it. I think the bad things were to keep from having a bunch of people going there. This place was great, clean, and one of the best vacation campground we've been to in a long time. Staff was great, fun and very helpful with anything we needed. Pomo was a hidden gem. We usually stay at the state park but it's impossible to get reservations at MacKerricher. A friend recommended Pomo and we're so glad we stayed. The individual spots were immaculate. Clean new gravel, fairly level and very private. We usually dry camp, so having hook ups for water / power was a rare treat. We enjoyed this campground so much I'm not sure we will ever camp at the state park again. On our particular stay there was some dog barking going on- but it wasn't a bother and we were just glad it wasn't our dog. We stayed two nights & will return again soon. As a bonus- I could hear the fog horn and ocean buoy near by. It's also super close to the Mendo Botanical Garden. We didn't use the cable so I can't speak to that issue. TLDR: RACIST COMMENTS FROM OWNER'S SON Went camping a few weeks ago with my partner, and while checking in, I could clearly hear someone through a sliding glass door in the office say "You know what this country needs? A good ethnic cleansing." I asked the young woman at the counter who that was, and she said the owner's son. She was clearly uncomfortable. This was one of many racist comments heard by the same person, who was loudly saying the same stuff outside the office, way too comfortably. Doubt we will ever go back. read more

I have camped here a couple times and it has been great every time! I like the fact that they have hookups, cable, and water. The WiFi is a good touch, but can be glitchy at times. I recently stayed in #80 and I could get WiFi by the street but it would go away in my trailer. Some sites do not have this issue, as I have only encountered it this one time. I would recommend staying here in October. The weather is perfect and you can definitely see the fall colors in the scenery. read more

I get back and he comes up on us hot at our campsite im still in my car and the owner in the white 2005 ish Chevy diesel says "get out or roll down the window" he continues to say I was going over 20 mph in the area and I was maybe going 10 mph. our campsite wasn't even 100 feet from the office which there is two speed bumps there. he was instantly rude to me. started to cuss me out and say racial slurs. For starters the campsites are lovely. Each tucked into a surrounding wall of vegetation. Very private. Showers clean and well tended but note that you'll need quarters--two to start. They offer WiFi and cable tv but neither are worth a darn. Couldn't get any cell signal most of the time either. You have to get out on the road to town to pick up a signal. The grounds away from campsites could use some cleaning up. Piles of detritus here and there. Trash bins were overflowing too. read more

I always stay here when I am in the area. It's meticulously clean, and on a previous visit I paid with cash...Unfortunately I had a couple fresh from the bank 100 dollar bills that stuck together. The gentleman laughed and handed me back the extra hundred dollar bill and told me that I had accidentally given him TWO hundred dollar bills instead of one! So, Five stars for cleanliness, Five stars for honesty, also, they don't mention the free breakfast buffet, but at certain times of the year the blackberry bushes are just overflowing! read more

Our third year of a month's stay during the height of the Sacramento Valley sauna season. We've got our reservation for next year already. As noted elsewhere, this is a well established and mature campground catering to RVs. It does have a number of tent sites both in a couple of open areas and others with a mature tree canopy. It appears the most common campers ere are seniors like us which means camping here is q-u-i-e-t. Loads of firewood available at a reasonable cost. This campground is very well kept with a staff that ensures it continues to be so. The majority of the RV sits have good foliage around them, maintaining privacy from the neighboring site. There is also well-laid out group site that does well to fit the big Class As. Camp site a very near level with fine gravel. Management recently upgraded their Internet (Comcast is the ISP) with great coverage throughout the campground. We were here over Labor Day and, with a nearly full house, still had 60Mb down/12Mb up service. Cable hookup provides tv from Comcast as well. You can have your Amazon orders sent to you at Pomo and staff will deliver them to your hand! Only negative -- and it is NOT Pomo's fault: Verizon coverage is only 1 to 1-1/2 bars. BUT, set your phone to "wifi calling" and you're good to go. Suffice it to say, we think its a great place to stay and plan to make it part of our annual pilgrimage to Fort Bragg. read more

We had never stayed here before. My husband booked it because he wanted hookups. The evenings and weather can be cold-ish in February and he thought we might be spending time in the cabover and services would be nice. I got grumpy and figured with hookups it might be like a KOA or trailer park. Boy was I wrong! Each site had plenty of room, was nicely covered with "pea gravel", surrounded with some brush, mature Rhododendrons, Huckle Berry, (wild blueberry bushes), and some maintained trees. The bathrooms were spotless and showers available but we didn't use them. It is a short drive to town. Although the Pomo Camp is across the street from the ocean you can hear the waves in the night. We loved this campground! We did tent camping, and the spots were quaint, bathrooms very clean, and overall, our experience was great. The people were friendly and our son made amazing first memories of camping and forming new friendships. We would love to return. We purchased firewood there and I've never received such a huge amount before! Apparently, they get the wood right on the property and it burned really well for us. We had leftover firewood to bring home! By the way, the pictures uploaded to this page really does not do the campground justice. We have gone to Pomo for over 30 years and have never been treated like this . Larry who said he owns the park threatened us because our dog was barking for a few minutes. he yelled at me and my wife basically getting in our face and said he would have sherif evict us . I had to negotiate with him so we didn't have to leave at 6:00 Sunday . site 1 is by his site and he said he was sleeping. he basically ruined our trip. we will never go back. This has been a family destination for generations. Our recent trip exposed how terrible the staff is and how run-down the park has become over the years. There are no activities for kids at the park and we actually believe that they discourage them from coming. My young son and I were enjoying some father/son bonding with music and a remote control car. A staff member approached us in a vehicle and cursed profanity at us through the window. As I smiled and complied with the rude comments, we were further insulted and belittled. A simple, polite request by the gentleman would have been more than adequate. If you come to this park, you should plan on sitting in your RV and not having fun!! They also on take checks/cash and do not take credit cards. Beware. read more

We have stayed here 3 times over the last 2 years and this last visit was very disappointing. Trying to make the reservation was difficult as they weren't answering their phones or responding to voicemail. The day before our trip they called and told us they had overbooked and our spot with full hookups was not available and we would have to be moved to a site without sewer. Okay, things happen and we accepted the new spot. We arrived to find that the spot they had reassigned us to was no longer available and we were reassigned again. No big deal but annoying. Once we got settled in we discovered the cable connection was stripped. When we went to the office to ask for them to fix it we were handed a part and told to fix it ourselves. Trying to not get upset we took the part but it was not the right one. Going back to the office they handed us another part at which point we said NO!!!. This is our vacation and it is not our job to fix your equipment. Some lady from the office came down to our site saying it is not their fault all this happened as they are short staffed. We told her we just wanted the cable fixed. When the guy came to fix the cable he told us that there are other campgrounds in the area we should try! Seriously?! This is how you run a business? The campground itself is still nice and a decent location but the service is abysmal. read more

We stayed here in August of '23. We enjoyed it and decided to book for '24. I called and reserved a site that turned out not to have a sewer connection (my oversight). I called back 2 minutes later and asked for a site with full hookups. Nothing was available, so I said I'd check my calendar for alternate dates and call back. I was told there would be a $15 cancellation fee. I questioned that for a two minute delay, but was told it was "their policy." When I got my credit card bill, the $15 fee turned into $30 with additional charges. There are a lot of nice campgrounds in the Fort Bragg area. We won't deal with one whose "policy" is so unfriendly. read more

Wi-fi and phone spotty at best. 80% of sites are private, some very private woodsy. Many have 50A for extra $4 a day. But really it is the coast you really do not need the second AC unit and 30A should work for most. 60 to most 70 in the day. Gravel sites, somewhat level gravel. Pomo RV Campground is nice looking with trees and bushes, but is not managed very well. The Wi-Fi was very poor therefor mobile phone service does not always function well. Coin laundry ate our quarters and we had to try another machine which left black marks on some clothing. I hunted down the maintenance guy who apologized and gave our money back. Dog barking policy is apparently up to each individual camper to ask neighbors to please control their dogs, but did not turn out very well. At times the dog barking was from all directions due to a person walking their dogs and every dog in the surrounding area had to bark and howl at each other. When I went to the port side of my trailer to open the cabinets, the neighbor's dogs bark and howl at me. By the way, where are the neighbors? I actually witnessed a dog attack another dog which was on a leash being walked by its owner. The owner had to act quickly to defend their dog. Talked to campers located on the entrance street told me they did not hear dogs near them but could hear the dogs in the area where we were camping. I would think the management could hear these dogs as well. Campers are allowed to check into the park as late as Midnight. Perhaps to disguise the fact that their old dilapidated RV belongs in the dumps and it smokes (I had to close our windows) and their heater and AC sounded like the proverbial bucket of bolts when running. We had camped at POMO during the summer, but perhaps if we camped during the off season it would be more enjoyable. read more

I'm not sure what folks are complaining about but we've always been treated with courtesy and respect. The sites are spacious and we've never felt crammed in with other campers. It's clean and and maintained. If you're into mountain biking or gravel riding this is a great spot close to the Jackson Demonstration Forest. Lots of terrific roads and trails without the crowds. I used to love camping at Pomo....I will NEVER go again and it all comes down to my phone call this morning trying to get a reservation for Memorial Day weekend. THE RECEPTIONIST IS THE WORST AND NEEDS TO BE FIRED!!! I've been trying to get ahold of them for the last few days and the line was always busy. Finally got through and she was very rude and frustrated, telling me that there was nothing available for Memorial Day weekend. I said that's when I was wanting to come and she asked for my dates (Memorial Day weekend) and she said that there were 7 sites available. Told her that I was familiar with the RV sites from past experiences but didn't know what the tent sites were like. She didn't provide much detail and kept pushing to reserve something. I said I wanted two sites but had a couple of questions and she kept cutting me off. When I asked about dogs I told them that I had two small dogs and my friend has 2 rottweilers. Immediately she said that might be a problem, that they are lenient with larger dogs but usually only when in an RV. I said that's understandable, but these are good dogs that usually just stay in the tent anyway. And she said "whoa whoa, you can't just leave them in the tent when you leave!" I said "hold up, that's not at all what I just said." after a very heated back and forth she finally just said "well I need to confirm with the owner then." I asked "how do you want to handle this? reserve and then confirm or cancel?" and she said "I'm not going to confirm this. What's his name? He can reserve the site but if he shows up with them we'll ask him to leave." After another heated back and forth she confirmed that their fiber line has been down, no tv, no internet, no phones, just now got it sorta working again (why I was finally able to get through) and that's clearly adding to her frustration level....but that is NO WAY to talk to someone on the phone. She acted like I should've known that they were having issues and I should just accept her rudeness because of it. Told me that she had 5 people in the office waiting on her....I hope that they saw how rude she was and left too. I'd complain to the owner/manager but there's no possible way to do so, so yelp it is. STAY AWAY FROM POMO, DO NOT SUPPORT THIS BEHAVIOR. read more

If i could give zero stars I would. Probably the rudest owners of a business I have met. If your going on vacation this is not a relaxing place as the owners are very confrontational and unkind. I will not be going back. The owner is very strict about 5 miles or less and if you drive over 5 miles by even 1 mile you WILL get yelled at. It's very unfortunate that we experienced what we did. The fellow campers were amazing but the Owner not so much. We go every year and keep bringing more people, but no more. Family in our groups were told and accused of doing thing that were not true, he yelled our kids and was just plain rude. We experienced some racism remarks "you people" comments made several times, cursing in front of our kids ages 1-12, completely unprofessional. Pointing his finger one of our friends faces, making threats and then he got into bashing police and sheriff officers. He said the most people he kicks out of his campground are police officers who think they can get away with and do whatever they want. We respected the campground, everyone around us and the rules and to be treated with such disrespect and ignorance is completely unacceptable!!! Nice park and grounds, but the older lady at the front desk was a terrible first impression. I received a lecture for trying to pay by credit card, and she was listening to phone messages as she was checking me in. Would NEVER stay here! Booked for a holiday weekend. Had to mail a check for deposit. Ended up having to cancel TEN days in advance and because it wasn't 20 days, no refund of the $180 deposit! As if they can't fill that spot on a holiday weekend with 10 days to spare! Absolute fraud! Imagine how much money they make screwing people out of their deposits! Unreal. The campground site was wonderful. Many bushes separate the sites and each site has a washtub fire pit. Wood fires allowed. Great Location for area attractions. The only problems were the fact the showers were being remodeled so they were closed and the washing machines ate your quarters, but the manager did give us a refund on what it ate. They advertised wifi, but then they said it wasn't working. We're on a long trip so laundry and showers are nice to have and we need wifi to take care of business when gone for months. We would stay again. Be sure you drive 5 miles per hour and not 7 or more or you will get yelled at! I do feel when things aren't working they should give you a discount for the lack of services their website offers. read more

Cash or check only, no credit cards. RV Sites are pretty clean with water, sewer, cable tv 10-12 Chanels, 30 amp hookup (50 amp available for additional fee. WiFi connection but works only after 10pm if you are lucky or off and on for an hour at best during the day. Hot water showers are available at $1.50 for each 7 minutes. Good thing: Pomo Campground is just 5 min from town where there is internet access. We left two days early having prepaid for a week. The problem with crappy WiFi is not due to login problems. Pomo appears to have three sites, probably depending on which area you connect the RV to. If you need internet to maintain your business while on the road, drive on by. Wish I checked prior yelps on the WiFi before making reservations here, apparently this ongoing issue is years old. read more

Some good and some bad with this campground. I am not an avid yelp user, but want to post when there is info that I think will help others make better decisions. Positives: They have trees and bushes in between sites that give it a feeling of being more secluded than most campgrounds. Sites are mostly level. Clean laundry rooms. Clean grounds. Great fish cleaning and abalone cleaning station and large cans to wash dive gear. Friendly staff. Bulk firewood for sale on premises. Fire pit in each site. Negatives: We needed a place to stay for two months while our new place was being remodeled. We called for a long term reservation that would last two months and they said they could accommodate us, but needed a cash or check deposit to hold the reservation. We happened to be close enough to drive over and take care of this, but it could have be an issue if you live far away and want to reserve without credit card. Upon checking in we found out our daughter staying with us was an extra $60 per month. Not sure why as she works full time and only used it to sleep. We also were paying separate bill for electricity, so only extra expense should have been water. And they are probably on well water so not sure there is an actual cost to have her with us. We were also told they do not have overflow parking. Because we had three vehicles we would have to pay extra. The owner decided to charge $5 a day for us to park in a tent camping site next to the dumpster and old broken down benches. $150 extra per month so my wife and daughter could park at the site and I could put the truck elsewhere. There were a few larger sites in the park that would accommodate three vehicles, but we were not offered one. Even though the laundry room was clean the washers smelled. Not sure if it was just a lack of air circulation or something to do with the water not being properly filtered. I just washed everything on hot and the smell did not transfer to clothes. Any visitor has to stop at office and pay to visit. Not upset about them checking in, but paying just to have dinner with us just doesn't feel right. Large property and some extra parking over flow spots could easily be put in multiple locations. They have the tractor and rock on site already. Some sites are so covered with trees that you may have problems setting up a satellite dish and you should ask for one with open access to the southern skies. Some of the cable internet cables are old and provide a bad signal. They offer free cable, but if you like clear tv this is not for you. Because of a longer stay we had Comcast run a thicker line to our trailer and got high speed internet while here. The internet WiFi they offer is okay for basic stuff, but don't expect to watch movies or use a lot of bandwidth because the service will limit you. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The dog fee was $15 for a month and that is not a big deal as other places have charged more. We have a 7 lb dog that we clean up after, so never an issue. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- We are here for the next month and will update any experiences that we think may be helpful to others. Overall I would stay here again or tell others to stay here if they want a nice quiet stay in a well maintained place, but would not recommend it for large families or any groups with extra vehicles as the extra costs could force frugal folks to stay elsewhere (which may be their goal). If some of these practices of charging extras was changed and additional parking was provided for guests, this could really go a long way in getting more reservations. read more
