Seal in the river we could see from our site
Chloe G.

We stayed here for a week in mid June. I honestly wouldn't recommend it if you're a family with young kids; there's no amenities like in other parks (no playground or even grassy areas) & a lot of sites are right on the river, which would have had me on edge if I had young kids running around. But that was what brought us here. We wanted to be close to town and also be able to just drop our kayak/paddleboard right in the Noyo River and go. For that, it was perfect. We had the river right out our back windows and even watched a seal sunning itself right from our RV one day. As long as you're not looking for fancy, this park is a great place to stay while exploring the surrounding area.

Nice location, on the Noyo River at a marina just a few minutes from town (Fort Bragg). The office is attached to a restaurant and marina. The office closes at 4pm. There are no tent sites, just RV. There are a lot of locals and long term RV'ers here. There are two bathroom/shower/laundry facilities. One is locked and needs a key card that the office gives you, the other has a missing lock and is always open. There is one shower stall and two bathroom stalls per facility. The women's shower is horrible, a cold shower is free but if you want hot water you put a quarter (about 2 minutes) in a very rusted out box (doesn't even look like it works). The water pressure is super strong and the drain is horrible so you end up standing in a pool of water 4 inches deep, disgusting!!!!! That was the worst shower I have ever used!!! The men's shower is free for hot water and my husband said the water pressure and drain are fine... The staff are nice, I got a spot the day I called on a holiday weekend, they had 10 spots available when I called. There is a pair of ospreys that have a nest in a tall dead tree across the river from the sites. The marina is at the end of a road, very private, quite cold too. The restaurant at the marina is supposed to have good clam chowder and food, we didn't stay long enough to try it though, it closes early. I wouldn't stay here again because of the women's shower, otherwise it was nice.

This deli has good food at reasonable prices. The burgers are great and are BBQ'd to order on a grill at the back.

Right on the river if you have a boat or kayak. Just a lot of traffic all day long and lots of people that live in the trailer park.

When staying on a private property, you expect privacy. Although it is his property, according to the contract, you are buying that part of land for the time you stay, which would mean he's invading your land and privacy during that time. Make sure to read the contract fully as there is no cancellation policy. If he doesn't like you, he tells you he's making it so you can never return (and who would, it's not a great looking place) and will also submit a fraud alert on you because he thinks if you talk back to him, you are trying to scam him. He's the scammer. This is a place that I will never recommend and if someone mentions going to Fort Bragg to camp, they will be warned to avoid.

We were extremely disappointed with both the management and the facilities. While the property is…read moreprivate, the owner goes around daily taking photos of occupied campsites and posting them on the campground's blog without notice or consent. Nowhere on the property or in the conditional use agreement we signed does it state that photos of guests will be taken and shared online. When we confronted the owner around 8:30 PM on our last evening and asked him not to post our photos (especially of our underage children), he became defensive and accused us of being "aggressive" simply for voicing our concerns. Things escalated, and at 9:30 PM he returned--unnecessarily late, especially with children present--just to inform us that our account was closed. His behavior was rude, intimidating, and unprofessional. Aside from this, the park itself has several issues we wish we'd known about beforehand: *Showers: Small stalls with only a plastic curtain, and the coin dispenser is on the opposite wall--requiring either a towel maneuver or walking across the room unclothed to insert coins to start the shower. *Bathrooms: While they had paper towels and toilet paper, they ran out of toilet paper twice during our 5 day stay. Maintenance staff (who were pleasant) came by a few times but didn't restock until another camper asked. There was no soap in the dispensers, but store-bought soap bottles were left out (unclear if by staff or guests). *Women's bathroom: The first stall (handicap) doesn't lock properly and is only held closed by a magnet that can easily be pushed from the other side. *Dishwashing: No proper dishwashing area. The sinks available were being used for gutting fish, which felt unsanitary. Based on our experience, the owner is unreasonably confrontational and dismissive of guest concerns. Instead of resolving issues professionally, he resorts to blaming guests and creating unnecessary conflict. His behavior made our stay uncomfortable, and we will not be returning or recommending this park.

Now we know they're owned by a local vacation rental company called Pacific Blue and you can book direct! The park is well maintained with a mix of RVs, cabins and tiny homes available for nightly rentals. The RVs are spacious floor plans to accommodate families and smaller for couples or solos, and each is set up at a campsite complete with picnic table, fire ring and full hookups. The tiny homes are quaint and complete, with everything well thought out. Ours had a lot with two twin beds, tv, and room to layout suitcases. We out a pack and play up there and still had room to spare. Downstairs was a full kitchen with oven/micro/stovetop (no dishwasher), kitchen table with bench and two seats, rolling island for additional storage, living room with full size sofa, coffee table and sitting chair, and lots of windows to bring in the scene of the harbor. natural light and bay breeze. Outside we had a gas bbq, patio furniture and communal picnic tables and seating out on the pier, which we overlooked. It was serene and exciting to watch the seals and otters at play and the boats coming in and out of the harbor day and night. The view was never boring and we enjoyed every minute. I also loved that you could see out to the ocean, which looked very peaceful and calm during our stay. Best of all, you're close to several good seafood restaurants, in the heart of the charter fishing in Fort Bragg, can crab right from the pier if youre staying on property and the owners are responsive, helpful and swift to reply. It was clear they were proud of their place and wanted you to enjoy your stay. We would def recommend staying here!

Unfortunately we heard a sound coming from the engine area as we pulled into our site, and it did not sound good. The campground and sites were immaculate. My husband enjoyed looking at all the fencing and swing sets that we found out later Travis had built from the down redwoods on the property. We enjoyed playing corn hole and visiting our neighboring campers. As we started to leave the following morning, the sound was louder. Our friend who was traveling with us is very mechanical. He thought it was the air conditioner compressor. Travis came to the site and agreed with the assessment. Travis knew people in town, but it was Sunday. They allowed us to stay another night. Travis came by in the morning after making calls for us and took our friend to town to get the part. The part had to be ordered, Travis allowed us to stay another night to wait for the part. Travis and our friend Kyle picked up the part and we thought we were set! The two of them put the part on, but they needed another part (a serpentine belt). Of course, the part store said it would be in the following day. Once again, Travis allowed us to stay another night. The following morning Travis and Kyle went to town to get the belt. The two of them worked on it and had us up and running. As we pulled into our next campground in Gold Beach, I received a text. It was Travis wanting to make sure we were ok. We can not say enough positive things about the campground, professionalism and the hospitality. We will be back, hopefully sooner than later. They were kind enough to let us drop our trailer so we didn't have to lug it around to find an open site elsewhere. We decided to try Woodside first. I was 8 months pregnant at the time and the desperate need to pee hit me like a brick to the bladder, so he bypassed the office and stopped by the bathrooms for me. I rushed in and while I was inside, I could hear him being verbally thrashed for using the restrooms without a reservation, and she wasn't giving him a chance to explain. What the hell? We decided not to stay. As we drove out of the park, we passed what looked like trailers parked permanently which is not a big deal at all except that they were all so trashy. And I mean that literally! Trash everywhere! This isn't a campground, it's a trailer park. And not a nice one.
