The door also did not seal properly with the bottom of the shower and leaked excessively. Sadly, the shower curtain we used from the dollar store in the interim worked better than the substandard work of Jay from Ryan and Gordy's. Over the past six months, we received two promises that the necessary parts were on order, one visit that resulted in a commitment to order more parts, and two no-call no, no-show appointments. We found these guys through our contractor, and we foolishly paid them before they completed the repairs, believing they would stand by the work. They did not. Although their scores are reasonably high overall, please read the reviews carefully as they have many weak scores, most of which revolve around shower door installation. I suspect Jay's brand of substandard effort is commonplace at this company. I cannot caution people enough to avoid these guys--they simply provide terrible service.

I went to Tint World first, and they quoted me $992 "after discounts" for the same package I got here at Sun Control for a much better price. That alone made me feel good about my decision, but the experience sealed the deal. This isn't my first time coming here--on my last car, I got their entry-level tint, which was decent for adding some privacy. But this time, I went with XPEL XR Prime Plus, and the difference is insane. If you've looked into XPEL, you already know it's top-tier and comes with great benefits, but what really stood out was the team at Sun Control. They're super easy to work with, clearly focused on making sure you're happy, and they had my whole car done in about 3 hours, including the front and back windshields. What really impressed me was their attention to detail. My car has a third brake light that's inside the rear windshield. Without me even asking, they hand-cut the tint, and it looks perfect--like it came from the factory that way. No rough edges, no misalignment, just clean and precise work, leaving the light bright and visible. That level of care isn't something you get everywhere, and it makes a huge difference. I can see other shops disregarding something like this; and I wouldn't even have noticed. I did a ton of research before getting my tint done and came across a lot of horror stories from other places, so I was a little nervous going in. But Sun Control absolutely delivered, and now I've got nothing but a great experience to share. I seriously think this is the best place in the state for tint. Plus, they back it up--a 2-year warranty on their work, and the film itself has a lifetime warranty. If anything happens, they fix it at the shop, no hassle. He claimed that my car was dirtier than the average car, but I had vacuumed it myself a few days before the job and had had the exterior cleaned at a Mitsubishi dealership 4 weeks prior. My car was definitely not dirtier than the average car. He also claimed there was a vomit substance on the floor which was a covid-19 biohazard that "put [his] life on the line," which on one hand was a bit theatrical, and on the other hand was not true since no one had thrown up in my car. The price that was agreed on was $149.99 as base price but I was charged 176.00 base price. Then he added further up-charges of 48$ for additional cleaning. Nevertheless, Travis didn't mention a word about this and sent out the invoice without informing me about any of the surcharges. In my opinion, Travis was not transparent and his game is to nickel and dime you to add up-charges to the price listed on the website. Even if your car is relatively clean, Travis will make sure to find something to bring up the cost, which in my case was a 90% increase versus the quoted price. The service was okay, but the fact there was no transparency, his unspoken up-charges, as well as the fact that he avoided talking with me after the fact (he left my keys under a stone) have all led me to give him a failing grade on this review.
