Staff member Asunción Abrego Galeana, known as "Tia," has repeatedly singled out and targeted my daughter, issuing her dress code violations for skirts and shorts that were the same length--or in many cases, longer--than those worn by her peers, who were not penalized. This repeated and unjust scrutiny has left my daughter feeling insecure and confused, questioning what is supposedly "wrong" with her clothing when it clearly meets or exceeds the standards applied to others. This pattern of unfair treatment is deeply concerning and has cast a shadow over her entire experience at Notre Dame. It is disheartening that one individual's actions have created such a hostile and discouraging environment for students. Speak to any student, and you will hear the same story--this behavior is not isolated, and it is damaging to both the school's reputation and the well-being of its students.

I was in the last class that was actually able to call it a junior high because the next year they condemned the main building and turned it into a middle school.... Didn't get a junior prom nor Junior high graduation.... The bureaucracy said that it would make us appreciate high School prom and graduations even more. The school itself has a great campus with a wonderful staff. They host a nice collection of family events to help get the parents involved - ie. She was assigned Ms. Pinto as a teacher and upon meeting her I went home and researched and found that she had some of the highest teaching credentials you can get. Upon her first quarter review her teacher was immediately addressing potential issues in her learning and she one on one teaching techniques. I could not be happier with this school, I come from the most paranoid and worrisome of places in both learning and safety and this school is NOTHING SHORT of quality. The issues became sufficiently significant that I found it necessary to elevate my concerns to the school principal in an effort to obtain administrative review and resolution. Despite following the appropriate chain of communication and making good-faith efforts to address the matter constructively, I did not believe my concerns received meaningful consideration or an adequate response. Parents are entitled to expect professionalism, impartiality, accountability, and transparent communication from both educators and school administrators. Based on my personal experience, those expectations were not met. I hope the school carefully evaluates how parent concerns are addressed and takes meaningful steps to improve communication and accountability going forward.

Admin left a classroom of special education students mainly alone with only outside hire substitute…read moreaides. Their hired substitute had a flat tire who was meant ro arrive later, which they told to only an adjacent teacher to the substitute aide watched classroom. That adjacent teacher proceeded to remove as many kids as he could safely handle to his room and checked in on the aide run classroom for around four and a half hours. Administration finally sent the attendance officer to sit with the class until an entirely different substitute showed up. Said substitute only lasted about 10 minutes until a student displayed aggressive behaviors and fled. Administration showed back upon being told the substitute was leaving. Gross misconduct, to leave a classroom of substitute aides (half of whom have never been with these students before) alone with a classroom of not only children but special education children. Admin could have sent literally anyone in the time it took for a substitute to appear just to ensure that aides had support and there was no risk of liability for students and staff alike.
