I must've died and went straight to Polish Meat Market Heaven because this place is the real freakin deal over here. Meats!! Meats!! Glorious Meats!! everywhere you look is some kind of Seasoned, Smoked, Cured, Marinated, or Pickled Meat. So you'll have to forgive me for all this hype I'm sending out for this place but believe me when I tell you it's all totally justifiable. And as you would expect they also prepare traditional homemade foods like Pierogi [Dumplings], Kielbasa Kapusta [Kielbasi with Sauerkraut], Bigos [Hunter's Stew], Gotąbki [Cabbage Rolls], and do not forget the Placki Ziemniaczane [Potato Pancakes]. I'm Polish so I had to stop here for some cold cuts and goodies before Easter. It's a small deli but it smells so good once you walk in. They have a sandwich menu which is great for the local businesses and offices. I got their ham off the bone and it was delicious. It is significantly a bit more expensive than my usual spots in Clifton and Garfield but quality is good. read more

I'm always able to find my favorite Polish goodies, and if I can't, the friendly staff always helps me. Their varied selection of kielbasa, pierogi and other specialties are delicious, so much so that friends ask me to pick up their favorites along with my own when they know I'm going. Well, the food may not be as good as the food your Babci made but it is dam good. This small deli specializes in Eastern European cuisine, They have favorites like pierogi (mushroom, cabbage, sauerkraut, cheese ), letcko, babka, golabki, garlic sausages, poppy seed rolls (one of my favorites), blintzes, paczki (donuts) and a killer kielbasa. They also have other imported products and condiments from Europe. They have a full service meat department and make great sandwiches at more than reasonable prices. The stuffed cabbage is really good, as are their other hot food offerings. If you are in the area, they offer daily diner entrees featuring a meat with two side dishes served with or without soup for less than $10. Since I am close by, Polski Smak is my go to Polish deli. read more

Nice little Polish deli in a tiny strip mall on route 23 south in Butler. In the area on other business. Pleasant surprise. I took out a sampling for dinner. This is strictly a take-out operation -- no eat-in seating -- and parking is a bit awkward. Pleasant folks. You can practice your Polish if you must, but everyone speaks English. They carry all the usual suspects made fresh in house, like pierogi (try the blueberry - terrific with sour cream), golomky (stuffed cabbage), nalysnyky (cheese blintzes), potato pancakes, and more. Their cured meats are authentic enough too. They offer a few varieties of house smoked kielbasy and hams; their Moscow-style ham is lightly cured but heavy with raw garlic, and the wedding kielbasy is double smoked (a bit much for me) and plenty garlicky too. You can also find traditional rye bread and the usual condiments and prepared salads to go with your lipid-loving extravaganza. Authentic and delicious. Deli style/convenience store set up. Kielbasa is homemade and delicious and they have several styles to choose from. Definitely worth going to. I'd be there frequently but I don't live anywhere near it. Will be back if I find myself that far up in North Jersey again. read more

The food is authentic along with the talented and helpful Polish staff. It's always a great pleasure visiting this place to gather all my Eastern European goodies. Listening to the words spoken remind me of being at home with my Parents, long gone. We can always find something wonderful to add to our traditional holiday celebrations. I used to go to Russian grocery stores in Fair Lawn. People from the area raved about Polski Smak so I had to go check it out for myself. I love Eastern European food. The store is a hole in the wall. It's very small and their selection isn't the best. I left unimpressed. read more

I used to go to the store on a weekly basis, but I think today was my last time. I went there to pick up my favorite meats. Got there few min before 6pm, not because I sat on my couch all day long, but because I work in a healthcare, we close at 5pm and it takes me 1 hour to get there. I wasn't served since the cutting machine was already cleaned. The lady that I spoke to claimed to be an owner. I'm very disappointed. If you close at 6pm, you should serve until 6pm. If you come to doctor at closing hour, we don't turn you down just because our office " is already clean". Just saying. I don't think I'm returning to the store. Didn't like the attitude read more

Very Disappointed in the racist, hateful attitude of some of the staff. I have driven out of my way to support Polski Smak, with no respect or appreciation shown me in return. Although I've grown up with Polish, Ukrainian and other Eastern European foods, I admittedly don't speak Polish--as many of their customers do-- and sometimes have questions regarding what a certain item is or how it might taste. But if you ask the wrong employee such a question, and obviously do not speak Polish, you don't deserve to be insulted, snapped at (even yelled at!), or treated as if you're bothering them--which is how several employees of this store act. I watched as the customer in front of me who spoke Polish was doted on and treated in an entirely different manner than I was. Then, when it was my turn, the employee (possibly owner) who waited on the prior customer totally ignored me, treating me as if I were invisible! (I'm sorry I didn't walk out). Despite standing right in front of the hot food area, I literally had to ask for someone to help me, prompting the cashier to walk over in a pissed off mood with a horrible temper, while I was simply trying to order food to bring to someone grieving over the death of a relative. I was yelled at for not knowing what an item was, inquiring if it was hot or cold, and trying to get the right order, which turned out to be a total ripoff. Clearly, I'm not wanted at this business, my ethnicity is not wanted here, and I was made to feel like dirt, which nobody deserves. My goddaughter is Polish, and I can't imagine her family treating anyone the horrible way I was treated at Polski Smak. On top of this, the employee with the nasty temper never bothered to change her gloves from handling money and credit cards at the register, to handling the styrofoam container and hot food service, while multiple customers (at least 3!) were on top of each other at the register when I was there, making it impossible to socially distance. read more

Awesome fresh authentic Polish food. Very busy at times, so be prepared for a little wait, but they are experts at moving the crowd along a dishing out some excellent food. Not usually a fan of stuffed cabbage but it was quite good. It doesn't get any more real than this. read more

We got quite the spread to share - the pierogi platter (crispy), potato pancakes, and stuffed cabbage. And we STUFFED ourselves on them all (and didn't regret a thing).

8/21/24 It's a…read morelittle grocery store. Can't have more than 5 people inside at a time. Take out only. They have packaged items as well as many store made items. The only issue is, the lady behind the counter doesn't know much English. We had to wait for someone in the back to come help. I've started to google things where labeled to help us move the ordering along. Depending on the time of day, cooked food came be coming out as you order or they can run out of what you want for the day. I forgot to take pics of our orders. But we've been here 3x this last month. We like their Borscht Soup, Turkish Salad, Eggplant Caviar. The Duck is delicious when they have it, it's kind of like bbq style. One of the times had more bakery items, trying to remember if it was a weekend or weekday.... The sweet cheese bread was good and wanted to try another flavor.

I asked for a receipt because it looked like something odd happened and they said something like "the previous transaction gets deleted". It's become a strange place. I would avoid.
