I discovered recently that this is a standalone business in its own right as this is accessible without paying to see the upstairs museum like section of Pollok House. Furthermore, numerous people make specific trips to Pollok House just for this restaurant.
Obviously, this indicates that it serves decent food. Indeed, it does. In fact, I'd go a bit further to say it serves up lovely food. The menu has a good selection: there's the usual soup, sandwich type deals; baked potatoes with an array of fillings and similar standard cafe food as well as lovely lasagne's and the like.
Moreover, they even have daily specials which are actually specials. Meaning that these change on a daily basis and are freshly made. Yesterday these were carrot and rosemary soup (delicious) and a bacon and rosemary tart served with new baby potatoes and a fresh side salad (which looked AMAZING).
They also offer the usual range of coffees, hot chocolates and soft drinks. These can all be enjoyed with a delicious slice of one of their many deserts. This is perfected by the fact that you can pop in here to have just a cake and a coffee which very few places still accommodate for.
The staff are lovely, pleasant and extremely efficient and their service is quick. Even at their busiest times, they keep their cool are never get nippy or board-line rude which I've witnessed in other places over the years.
Definitely worth a visit. read more
