If I could give more stars I would. This is our second visit here driving to Colorado. We stumbled upon it and it was delicious. Just stopped in again and it was so good! Tonight we were pleasantly surprised to find Pollo El Ranchero. I am not sure if it is correct to call what we ordered was good old on the grill BBC Chicken or not. But it sure tasted like some of the best off the grill BBQ Chicken I have ever had away from the backyard. So I can only recommend the, Pollo Estero as a must order item. So, we were hungry during our long travel. Decided to stop for lunch. I had the 1/4 Pollo entree. Where do I begin? The chicken is very difficult to eat as they do not clean the chicken as much as I would have liked. I kept having to pull mini-inedible chicken pieces from my mouth in every bite. The flavor was very Smokey but lacked any other seasoning. The rice was over cooked, mushy, and lacked any flavor. They only serve one salsa for ever two people. During COVID, i believe this is a very unsanitary way to save some money. The only item that gave this place a second star is their queso. It is a very flavorful white queso which made me believe the rest of the food would be also! I do not recommend this restaurant to anyone passing through. read more

This is the best grilled chicken I've had in a very long time. We ate here twice while in town and will go again. I grew up in the Panhandle but when I was passing through on my way home I decided to try something new, at least to me. Wow. It was great! The chips were fresh and crispy (I hate greasy, chewy tortilla chips). The salsa was spicy and fresh. I got the green chile enchiladas and they were spicy and very flavorful.
