Rogue X - Fun time but the lifeguards are out of control

A decent, much needed addition to Medford. This review is solely for the aquatics area. The kids…read morehad fun on the 2 slides and lazy river but moved on to the lap pools after about 1/2 hr. 1st timers here, but long time tax payers... would've like to have seen more to do for kids 11 and up. Seemed to be super popular with elementary level kiddos. It's just hard to stomach the price tag taxpayers paid while still paying entry to a mediocre, modern facility. Would've been great if it were more along the lines of Wings and Waves in McMinnville- 4 huge slides, big wave pool AND play structure, whirlpool etc. (something for all ages there). Either way it is what it is since they filled in Hawthorne pool and shut down Jackson pool (both of which had awesome diving boards at least, lol). Just kinda MEH here...

The Rogue Credit Union's ROGUE X is an amazing spacious indoor sports complex. First of all. One…read morehalf of the complex has eight (8) Basketball / Volleyball and Pickle Ball courts. It also has several party and meeting rooms The other half has two (2) massive swimming pools. The recreation pool has two water slides and a lazy river I enjoy going to the 13 lane Olympic lap pool My insurance pays for a membership for me to try to keep in shape so instead of me going to a gym I got a monthly senior pass to Rogue X and the insurance company pays for it. I can use the facility almost every day of the year but My goal is twice a week. There is plenty of free parking and the locker rooms/ restrooms are spacious and exceptionally clean. Prices vary depending on where you live your age and if you get a family or individual pass. This is a wonderful addition to the Rogue Valley Southern Oregon area

A covered picnic area and a few odds and end trees were planted and left to fend for themselves. One is hanging on the ground in the middle of the park that could use most of its lower branches pruned , but after a few requests for help nothing is done. There's a walking path that is nice. I was told they have a total of 4 employees for park maintenance. The surrounding parks at Kennedy, Spring Street, and Cedar links are in pristine shape with bark mulch around the borders instead of noxious weeds. The areas around the walking path are filled with goat head thorns and dead vegetation. I asked the parks why they let this area go to weed and they said it isn't irrigated. They don't have plans to irrigate or improve this park . There's at least a half acre of unused/undeveloped field space that also is a weed patch. It says there is a playground on site but there is none. They put in a splash pad several years ago but no improvements to grassy areas that are being taken over by weeds. There is a poor tree near the pavilion that is drooping branches on the ground. Help!! City commissioners what can you do do? Take a field trip and compare how this park is cared for vs all others.

They have really stepped up the machine maintenance! Haven't had an issue since the upgrades several months ago. The Black Card membership is worth it for the red light therapy and the hydromassage alone. Customer service is mostly good, BUT I really don't want to walk into a gym and see anyone wearing Meta glasses, let alone the front desk staff. Is it too new for a policy to be implemented? It's really uncomfortable seeing that in a gym environment. Overall, still a big fan of this specific location :)

Two employees ( both females) were setting up a tanning session for a gentleman and then literally walked away ...when he asked what was going on with his bed. Their response was basically "we're off duty" and they didn't even acknowledge him after that. The new employee coming on had no idea what was happening, which beds were in use, or what the customer needed. So the customer was left standing there confused because the outgoing staff decided that being off the clock meant customer service no longer mattered, even though they were still in Planet Fitness gear and still inside the building. I just think that's really poor customer service. Shift change should be seamless for the customer, not a handoff where someone gets ignored. Being off duty doesn't mean you stop being professional on your way out the door.
