It wasn't relaxing for a spa, there was no specialty to it. The lights don't dim. The young lady who did my facial was very nice but there was no specialty to the process. Barely any facial massage, no scalp/shoulder/hand massage. She did not let me know the products she was putting on my face before she put them on. It was overall disappointing. I am used to having a little more of a spa experience when getting a facial and this didn't cut it.

I've visited Royce Spa midtown location a couple times to get my nails done and the thing I enjoy…read moremost is their customer service. For every visit, they offer you a free beverage and have several options to choose from. The chairs are nice and plush and have a nice massage option. I really like that they cover the pedicure water bowl with a plastic liner and replace the liner after each guest to keep the space sanitary. The location is clean, bright, and modern. It's beautiful! On my first visit, I got a new set of acrylic nails and a pedicure so I had two nail artists assisting me at the same time. I was particular about the color I was getting because I was preparing to be maid of honor for my sister's wedding and wanted to make sure my nails were more of a nude slightly pink color. I came in with an example picture from IG. The manager, Chloe, was super helpful and demonstrated several colors to make sure I got what I wanted. The acrylic set I got was exactly what I wanted including the color and shape. Most notably, the nail artist filed them in a way that they were sharp which is important to me. I hate the feeling of dull nails. The acrylic set was so basic with the color, but I received so many compliments on them! My friends and the bridesmaids used them as inspo for their nails, too. For my pedicures, I've worked with the same person on both visits and they did not do a great job with the nail polish on my toes. On the first visit, the nail polish application was really splotchy. You could see bumps on the nail polish. The nail polish might've been dry or something, but the nail artist was just going to leave it like that so I mentioned it to Chloe and she was super kind in staying late (after the nail spa closed) to make sure my nail polish looked great and smooth. Because we were there after hours, she added a layer of gel to the top of the regular polish for free so that it would dry faster which I appreciated. On my second visit, the same nail artist assisted me with my pedicure and it turned out mostly okay, but it's been a little over a week and my nails are already chipping which is unusual for my toes. Overall, I've had great experiences with the staff (minus one, but we won't let one spoil the bunch) so I would recommend Royce Spa midtown to anyone especially if you have a chance to work with Chloe. She listens to customers and seems to take great pride in her work.

Overall, I had a very disappointing experience at The Cutlery Salon. I can only speak for my…read moreparticular stylist, since all of the staff here work independently. I saw one of the new owners, Dana. I think the issues began during the consultation. I showed her some pictures from Pinterest of some classic blonde styles. I mentioned that I was interested in having more lowlights added to my hair. Dana agreed that my hair needed "more dimension" and then proceeded to ask me some technical questions about how I wanted her to process my hair. I didn't realize it until later that she was creating a rooty blonde look. I know that it's a trend at the moment, but I don't think it was clearly communicated to me that this was look she was hoping to achieve. She proceeded to dye my entire head a dark brown color and then added blonde highlights. While this wasn't the style that I wanted, I had two larger issues with the experience. One was the execution of my look and second was that occasionally her comments felt condescending. She repeatedly said that my hair looked brassy when I came in, yet the brown she chose had reddish overtones. The blonde near my roots had a slight copper tinge to them as if it didn't process long enough. When I got home, I still had dye smeared on my face near my roots. I believe that this may have been an off day for her, but the resulting look I thought was worse than what I walked in with. I didn't notice the issues as much until I saw my hair in indoor lighting. The sloppy execution was pretty noticeable. Had I noticed these issues in the salon, I would've said something. Additionally, I felt that some of her comments further detracted from my experience. She seemed to form an opinion of my financial situation based on the fact that it's been several months since I had my hair cut and highlighted, stating "if you're on a budget" during our conversation. She continued in this manner of speaking to me when I asked for restaurant recommendations in Fort Collins. To Dana's credit, when I called to ask for more highlights, she did return my call, but by that point I decided that I needed a second opinion due to how poor my original experience had been. I went to a different salon where the stylist confirmed that wrong color of brown had been chosen and the blonde hadn't processed long enough. He meticulously colored over all of the brownish red and copper tones in my hair, so that I wouldn't have two layers of outgrowth. He treated me and my hair with the utmost care. Please save yourself the money and angst by choosing a different stylist or salon.

She organized the trial and even opened on a Sunday to make the trial happen for me. Her warm, kind energy coupled with her talent makes her the bridal hair Queen of Noco. Bri styles up to three different styles for your hair trial and she killed every style for me. So much so that it took me a couple of weeks to decide what I wanted. On wedding day she was helpful with my bridesmaids in deciding what they wanted too and everyone left feeling amazing. We got ready at Wild and Whimsy and it was perfect. It was spacious and we had our own little suite area to hangout. We were able to bring in food and Bri surprised us with a bottle of champagne! Her willingness to make you feel special and attention to detail is unmatched by other area bridal stylists. Because we got it done on site and we had 8 people, she was able to bring in a second stylist. They knocked out 8 people in about 3 hours. We were EARLY going into the ceremony. Honestly, my biggest regret of my wedding was not using them for our make up too. I 100/10 recommend Wild and Whimsy for your big day. You will not regret it.
