Wish the police department would actually do their jobs. A friend of mine has had to deal with…read morerobberies occur at work and the police did squat. People are constantly ignoring noise ordinances and playing music so loud that I can feel the vibrations on the second floor of my house, yet the police do nothing when I call in a noise complaint. Cars and bikers are constantly zooming down our residential streets at least 20 over the speed limit and blow straight through the stop signs and the cops never do anything no matter how much I report it. They literally do not care about doing their jobs and only care about filling a quota.

Last week, a man was wrongfully let in to the building and was breaking down my neighbors door and she screamed on the top of her lungs for the person to stop. My whole apt was shaking because i'm next door. I called the Springfield police 2 times and they said theyre on their way. Nope. Never came. I stayed awake until 4am on the lookout to see if i could see a face, clutching a bottle of gin ready to do some blunt force damage. What is puzzling is that he was breaking down the door and then presumably got in and then: silence. No confrontation of any kind which leads me to believe the worst. The next day, I called the police dept and they were closed because, duh, its a saturday! Nothing ever happens on saturday when crazies get drunk at all hours of the day! I called 911 and they said "yesterdays emergency is no longer todays emergency." It sure as hell IS when NO ONE responded yesterday! I called the district attorney who's voicemail was full. I called the mayor at the city council and left a message. I hate springfield. Cannot wait to leave this god damn hell hole where no one is safe and cops are liars. This would never happen in Brooklyn. I'm in the forensic field and do respect the police profession but its gotta be said: There is nothing respectable about your precinct, you were cowards who left a woman possibly VERY hurt, and me to fend for myself all night after false promises of showing up.

The folks here at Hubbard Memorial Library are really great!…read moreThey had a giveaway going on where if you listed 10 of your favorite books they'd give you a book from their reserved area for free. My brother was able to take advantage of that being a local. We got to talking with the librarian there and found out a lot of history with regards to the Hubbard building. Also got some insight as to who Mr. Charles Townsend Hubbard was. I was curious seeing as there was a large portrait of him hanging on the 1st floor all dressed up in the early 1900's gentleman's attire. I love how all these libraries in town are so well synchronized with one another. It's a great place to sign up for things. I took a picture of an event happening where a master baker is going to show people (for free) how to make your own bread starter. There's also lots of other things like learning how to knit, crochet, I even saw something about painting. These are things where if you live in the area, you can totally take advantage of. Definitely recommend checking out this library.

Cute library tucked away in the wooded 16 acres lot. It was quiet, comfortable, with a group of…read moreolder women whispering to each other as they knitted. They have a good selection of books for it being a smaller library. I especially appreciated how they had certain books standing out front and center so you could readily pick them up. Both of my book selections were like this, and they were really great reads. If there's a book you're looking for and they don't have it, ask and they'll order it for you. Cozy, comfortable, quiet, and inviting, everything you want in a library.

The security team is mostly pleasant - there's a woman at window 23 is trying to assist me. Today I have to go get my son - they said I have to wait another hour and that they called my number - I literally never moved out of my seat and they did not call or put B 103 on the screen. I even double checked if they had called it with woman in window number 10 and she was not nice to me at all. Very rude and said "if it's not on the screen we never called it."

Writing this with the mindset that MOST people who need to come here will not read this…read more My reason for being here today is canceling my mothers plates for her vehicle. Started by spending 10+ minutes on the phone (my choice) to talk to someone to figure out the process and steps needed to be taken. Got what I needed to be done real quick online and then made my way here to finish the process. 10:30am Monday morning I figured it would busy and I was correct. Stood behind someone line who had bad body odor, so please do yourself a solid and clean up before you come. Line was all the way to the door, maybe took 25 minutes to get to the counter and another 3 minutes to cancel the plates. Overall I was pleased with the service and my experience. The security guard and lady directing people where to go could have been more pleasant when I walked out after thanking them and wishing them a good day.
