Very welcoming pole studio that offers a variety of other classes and some activited for kids too! Super welcoming and one of the few studios that offer drop in pole classes and don't require you to do a series. I've only did the sensual class and the instructor is very nice and takes the time to break down the movies. Great music selection and the opportunity to record yourself at the end of class. Enough poles to share. Good way to get a good workout on!

Took a group class for a bachelorette party one weekend. Our instructor, Flutter was amazing!!! She made us feel welcomed, comfortable, and sexy. She also made the class so much fun! Our class lasted for an hour, and you have an option of taking a longer one. It was held in the Red Light District room. The room was clean, open and spacious. It has 6 poles and a "cage" on the back for pictures. Flutter gave us an option of using yoga mats for the floor moves, but we declined. I believe our class was $35/person. Very reasonable and comparable to other class studios. The studio is a bit hard to find. It's located in the Phoenix Business Park right next to New American Deli. Just follow the signs once your enter the business center. Perfect for individual classes or GNO!

I'm sure the fitness-conscious have been aware of the non-traditional work-out industry for a while…read morenow--the aim is to get people into an activity rather than simple weightlifting or working on machines. Yoga, tai chi, rock climbing--all of these activities involve a certain body awareness and require a basic level of core strength and fitness, and they're usually fun enough so you're never really thinking about sets and reps and muscle groups. Last night, I encountered one the toughest but most-enjoyable workouts when I went to the Circus Arts Institute. Located in a loft complex near Dekalb Ave, I joined a number of students (I was one amongst four beginner students, in particular) for a 90-minute session consisting of a pretty strenuous warm-up and cool-down as well as activities including tightrope walking, rope climbing, and trapeze. I would find myself both wired and tired after the session, the excitement and fun of what we did clashing with the unexpected amount of exertion required. Everyone here is all smiles and encouraging, eager to see you succeed in anything that you might try.

So, yeah, the circus classes aren't necessarily related to my tassel and glitter endeavors. (Maybe it was sparked by Yvette calling me Cirque de Sadie and suggesting it should be my stage name.) Whatever. Every few months, we'd be at an event and there'd be girls up on a trapeze or in the, um, circle-thing. "Freakin' amazing!" I would say to myself. "I can totally do that." I looked into it, and bookmarked the Circus Arts Institute web site. Then another year passed, until a few of us were talking about pole dance classes. I'd like to give that a try, too, but first I had to put up and give the trapeze a go. I enrolled in May for a 12-week session. Carrie Heller, who runs - and lives in - the Institute, is really fascinating. She encourages everyone to do cardio outside of class; she talks about diet and nutrition; she has a degree in physiology, I think, as well. In the first class, I climbed the Spanish Web (the rope), got up on the trapeze, and attempted walking the tight wire and juggling. Not so good with the juggling. Next class, I tried rings and loved it... got totally hooked. For my birthday this year, Bryant got our friends to contribute to a gift certificate for a second session. Some of them came to the last night of the first session, which was a sort of show-off day. I did a rings routine; nothing too hard, but it certainly demonstrated what I had learned over the first couple of months. Now, my second session is halfway complete. I'm going to have to re-allocate some funding to continue with it. Circus/aerial training is the crack - highly recommended crack.

The employee/manager/owner whoever it was could have definitely done better. I understand rules but also a little grace goes a long way. For those that like the long version: Pole dancing is something I find very beautiful but have not had the guts to try until now. Today I visited Vertical Joe's for the first time. I did a fair amount of research before making the decision to check this place out. The hope was to make this place a home where I could find more empowerment. I attempted to register for a mega pass online. I was unable to so instead registered for the 6 p.m. class that I intended to attend anyway. Fast forward to me being pulled out of class because there was no payment on file. I hadn't made a payment, my intention was to pay cash for the mega pass before class. My friend and I arrived late because we came here straight from work. We were allowed in without my registration being verified I guess?  A mistake was made by staff and I was allowed to go into the class. I was told I shouldn't have gone to class without paying. Ok. This is a mistake on the end of the establishment. I misunderstood the site. I thought we could pay cash because it was on option in the checkout window. Payments are only made online. Ok. But to get pulled out of the class for a 10 dollar payment is excessive.

His diagnosis…read morepresents mildly, primarily through a slight speech delay and a lack of interest in traditional, structured settings. He is a very creative child who thrives on stimulation and exploration, something we felt his current daycare was not providing. That's what led us to seek alternative options, and Montessori programs came highly recommended for children like him. Our first experience with Carlisle Montessori was very positive. We were warmly welcomed, and the tour left a great impression. We loved the homelike atmosphere, and the small size of the school gave us the feeling of a "family setting" where children could receive more individualized attention. Our only concern at that time was the small size of the classrooms in relation to the number of students. Despite that, we felt optimistic and moved forward with the enrollment process. We completed the application paperwork and were met with excitement and openness. Then came the enrollment form, where we were asked to disclose any learning, behavioral, or emotional diagnoses. We shared our son's diagnosis and emphasized that it had not resulted in any disruptive behaviors, something confirmed by his current daycare, where he's been for two years without any issues. We simply wanted an environment that could better support and engage him. After sharing this information, we noticed a clear shift in the school's tone. We began receiving phone calls with questions that felt more like attempts to determine whether our child would be a "problem" for their setup. We answered these as honestly as possible and reassured the school that, as his parents, we would not place him in an environment we didn't feel was the right fit. They asked to speak with his current teacher, and we agreed. His teacher reinforced everything we had said, sharing her positive experience and highlighting his strengths. The school then scheduled a 30-minute meet-and-greet, saying it would be the final step before enrollment. However, that visit turned out to be a very negative experience. The feedback we received focused almost entirely on the school's concerns, with no effort made to recognize or discuss our child's strengths. They then requested a second, two-hour observation to reassess whether he would be a "challenge" to their environment. At that point, we decided to withdraw our application. Throughout this process, the tone and messaging consistently emphasized how the school didn't want to enroll a child who might be disruptive, instead of showing curiosity, empathy, or a willingness to understand and support who he is. This left us with a very painful impression that our son's differences were being used as reasons to exclude him, rather than as opportunities to meet a unique child where he is and help him grow. Had they taken the time to really engage with him, it would have been obvious how joyful, social, and curious he is. Sadly, we came away feeling that the school is not equipped, either in tools, staffing, or mindset--to support children with diverse needs. The overall expectation seems to be that every child must adapt to a one-size-fits-all model, which is exactly what we were trying to move away from in the first place. This review is not intended as backlash, but rather as a message to help other families. If you're a parent of a child with diverse learning or developmental needs, we hope this helps you avoid the same disappointment and emotional strain that we experienced.

We started off with our little girl when she was 18 months as we felt this school was a lot better comparatively. That truly has been the case and we started learning around the Montessori concept. However, Ms.Gina and the team gave us clarity on how the Montessori program brings the BEST OUT IN CHILDREN and assured us to trust the program. She even showed us examples of students who were then graduating and their educational, behavior levels. We decided to continue with the program and we are now huge fans of the Montessori program! As our little one is now graduating in 2023, we are even continuing our little one's education with a Montessori program into the next level program - Lower Elementary (and maybe more!). Ms. Gina and team are true believers & followers of MONTESSORI principles. The concepts are so clearly taught with real world materials that the foundation is strong, which we all know matters a lot. Apart from teaching the kids around educational concepts (Reading, Writing, Maths etc.), the other aspects are also well taken care of - This includes social interactions, behavior & manners, show and tell, leadership, mentoring and helping others, arts and crafts and everything else! We are amazed at the TRANSFORMATION of our little one and are truly GRATEFUL to the Carlisle Team. BIG SHOUT OUT to the AMAZING teachers and staff - They are AWESOME! If your child excels in math or science, I would not recommend this school since they don't have a large enough class size to create varying levels of classes. The history and language arts curriculum is very creative, I think the chronological time line and incorporating both literature, history, and biblical studies together worked very effectively. However, a school should be able to excel in all subjects rather than just a few, since a well rounded education, especially at a young age, can help children discover their passions. After I transferred from Intown to my public school, I realized that I was very behind in math. I went into the accelerated program at the public schools and I found the classes much more rigorous and I was able to develop a much better work ethic for college. Smaller school also meant less club varieties too.
