When an air conditioner gives up its ghost in June in Georgia, it is nothing short of a catastrophe…read morerivaled only by tornados, fire and maybe locusts. We chose local company Aire Central as opposed to some of the huge mega companies I heard frequently advertising on the radio. We were not disappointed. Any AC problem can potentially cost many rupies. We were giddy with delight when Aire Central promptly dispatched their technician who immediately set to work diagnosing our problem like a freon powered wizard. We found him to be pleasant and honest in our time of muggy dread. He went to work trying to find the cheapest solution for us and attempted to repair it as opposed to immediately peddling a new air conditioning system. We found out our system was nearly the age of Methuselah and was probably installed by a pharaoh thousands of years ago. The average life of an AC unit is, I am told, 10-15 years. Ours was, get this, 40 plus years! In the end, we had to get a whole new system. When it came time to discuss which system would be best for us, they provided quotes for several models and discussed which would be best for us. Surprisingly, it wasn't the most expensive - far from it. No snake oil-style attempts were made at upselling either - we were impressed. As one can guess, summer is the busy season for AC repair so when we were told they were swamped (a good sign!) and we were at least 2 weeks out we accepted our sweaty fate. Knowing that my family was basking in the swampy heat like lizards they managed to move us up the list and we got our system installed in just a few days. Their staff was amazingly efficient, kind and even worked well into the dark hours to complete the job not wanting to leave our home in disarray and us melting like candles. In summary, if you wake up one morning and your house feels like hades, stay local and choose the experts, Aire Central. We were impressed, you will be too.

Absolutely AMAZING experience!!!! I was left with few options when my a/c decided to stop working…read morein the middle of the night in August, in Atlanta, and my previous a/c vendor was unavailable due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Being a pet mom I always worry about my little fur babies, and seeing them panting and looking for relief from the heat only added to my stress! I was first pleasantly surprised to see that this company opened as early as 7 AM! I then read the reviews, as most of us that use this site do! I said a prayer and went ahead and gave Porter HVAC a call, and boy was it a blessing that I did! Mr. Porter answered the early 7AM call and was extremely professional and polite. He told me that because of my location which is in metro Atlanta, he could stop by my house within a couple of hours. That immediately brought a smile to my face! Then something happened that I didn't think was possible anymore........he did exactly what he said that he would do, he was in my driveway within 2 hours! Not only did he show up like he said that he would, he was wearing a face mask for safety during this pandemic. Within less than two minutes of me showing him my set up, he was able to diagnose the issue. He was very courteous and even broke the news to me slowly that my unit would need to be replaced sooner than later..... *inserts crying face.* To be fair, the unit was almost 30 years old! I was really put at ease when I saw that Mr. Porter wasn't pushy about trying to make me buy an a/c unit and in fact, he gave me an option that would cool me down for the time being. My pups and I were once again in the a/c and there was no question in my mind as to whether or not I would let Mr. Porter come back out to replace the unit. When Mr. Porter came back out to replace the unit, he once again showed up when he said that he would. Mr. Porter also provided updates during the repair, he stayed within the timeframe that he gave me when we scheduled the repair, the removal and installation of the inside and outside units was great, and he cleaned up after the work was completed. A+ all around! I highly recommend!
