The restaurant is set up in a self-service style meaning you line up to place your order and return to the serving area when your number is called if part of your meal needed to be cooked. The restaurant was quite busy when we turned up at 8pm and the poor girl behind the counter was the only one working the front part of the restaurant meaning she was constantly multi-tasking between taking orders, prepping meals and serving customers their food when it was ready; she did an exceptional job at it however!
We decided to order a serving of meat dumplings with butter, Jewish stew and turkey with mushroom sauce and chips to split between us. The stew was very filling and so reduced down that there was barely any liquid left at all, but the stew was delicious containing meat, beans and other vegetables. The dumplings were nice but super filling as they were filled to the brim with meat and the melted butter sauce over them. The turkey and chips with mushroom sauce was nice but nothing special, we had ordered it so that we could get some solid protein after all the walking we had done earlier in the day. My dining companion being a regular consumer of Turkey meat enjoyed it, I was impressed with the chips as they were one of the nicest ones I've had in a long while. I also order a glass of homemade compot which was a cold drink made from fruit being boiled in water with sugar. All the food and drinks was delicious and by the time we finished it all we were absolutely stuffed for less than £10 for the two of us including 2 drinks each.
We were recommended this restaurant by staff at the hostel we were staying in as well as our walking tour leader. Overall I would happily return again for a cheap and filling feed. read more
