Ok, so I may not be Polish and I may not have the authority to say if the food was traditional, touristy, cheap or expensive, BUT, I can honestly say this was the best Polish food I had during my stay in Krakow.
Sąsiedzi have a wonderful courtyard garden at the back where you can relax and enjoy a meal in peace and tranquillity. Not really evident if you walk past, but certainly a place to pop into on a warm summers evening.
Our waiter was really attentive, quick and friendly and made some really good suggestions on what to eat. I started with the a hearty egg and sausage soup, which was absolutely delicious. You could tell it was lovingly home made and fresh. It was a real big portion too, whcih thankfully I was more than please with as I was truly starving! I then opted for another 'classic' Polish dish, the pierogi ruskie. Again, super tasty, rich and cheesy with a lovely buttery, bacon dressing.
I couldn't really fault the meal, it was really good value and the portions were so big. It may be a little 'touristy' but it's still a beautiful little restaurant that will offer great home cooked Polish food in a warm and inviting atmosphere. read more
