Dr Shamir is a great doctor, he helped me tremendously with my allergies/ asthma and I have seen…read morehim in the Pembroke Pines and Hollywood offices. My appointment today was in Weston so I could be seen sooner. This was my first time going there. While literally walking into the building to go to my appt, I get a call saying that I had a $700 balance and I needed to pay to be seen. Once I got into the office, the front desk lady I was on the phone with was at the front desk. I shared that I was not aware of a $700 balance from 2014 - its 2020 and I was told my account was up to date previously. There was a lot of back and forth and checking and I asked why wouldn't someone tell me this info prior to my appt , and how could I still be coming for visits since 2014 and making payments for my office visits and such, with no one coming at me in the way they are today. My appointment was at 2:30p and now its 3:15p. They wouldn't let me get seen. I tell them I need to be seen or let me know of they are turning me away. As someone who as asthma, I wanted to be seen before this coronavirus stuff got out of control so I could have any needed meds. I needed to get back to work. I honestly was shocked and appalled of the treatment. I was then told that they wanted me to pay half or $350 of this mysterious balance to be seen plus my $100 visit cost to be seen. Around 2014, the office changed their billing program. I know this because depending on who I spoke with, I was told I owed something then I was told there was no balance. It was very confusing and frustrating. I had zero trust for their billing department and shared that with the doctor over the years. Last year when making a payment, I asked again if my account clear I was told YES. Then this happened today. The very confused office manager had me speak with the billing manager Nancy who was unprofessional. She said I always have these reactions, since I was still coming in they just allowed it and she started referring her notes form 2015! WOW really? Makes no sense - this is incompetence at its finest or a scam. The last few years or so during office visits, I'd ask them to bill my insurance first and send a bill so I can ensure what they were saying is true about anything I owed. I had to strongly insist on this and that may be what she was referencing which is in my right- but other than that I've only been frustrated with misinformation. I won't be going back and don't recommend them to anyone due to the way their administration is managed. Its a shame because Dr Shamir is good. I've shared my frustrations a few times over the years and today with him but he said he doesn't know anything about that side. You unfortunately are not 100% in good hands here as the administration side is very important with patient care and that's where they consistent fall short, today is just one almost unbelievable example.

Summary: The Allergy…read moreand Asthma Center of Florida is plagued by unprofessional staff, poor communication, and ineffective treatments--despite prescribing me Albuterol and Trelegy, they refused to refill them after four months without another visit, clearly prioritizing my $75 copay over my health; do not trust them. A year's worth of experience with this office: I'd like to preface this review by saying that I am not a frequent patient, nor do I visit doctors unless absolutely necessary, and medication is always my last resort. I first visited the Allergy and Asthma Center of Florida in January 2024 and my experience was poor from the very start. Finding the office was unnecessarily complicated--while they listed the address, no instructions were provided on how to access the building. After wandering and calling multiple numbers, I eventually found my way. This early example of their lack of communication set the tone for my entire experience. The male nurse who attended to me was unprofessional and inappropriate. His demeanor was rude, and during the exam, he positioned me in an uncomfortable manner, sat me between his legs, and made a crude gesture when I mentioned having an IUD, adding a condescending comment. It was shocking. He also gave unclear directions for a breathing test, blamed me for doing it wrong, and was overall difficult to work with. Thankfully, I was later attended to by an older nurse who had excellent bedside manner and gave clear instructions, which was a relief. I was prescribed an inhaler but received no breathing treatments or EpiPen, leaving me with little help for my symptoms. When I returned in August of 2024, the experience was no better. I was met with the same unprofessional front desk staff, who repeatedly sent text messages cancelling and rescheduling my appointment without proper communication. I had to confirm my own appointment by calling, only to be met with a dismissive "yeah, it's fine." The female doctor I saw this time was patient and tried her best to work with my insurance limitations, which I appreciated. After six weeks of treatment, I was scheduled for allergy testing but never received any preparation instructions. No reminders, no written guidelines, nothing. When Hurricane Milton approached and I had to reschedule, I used this as an opportunity to ask how to prepare--only to be given vague responses. I wasn't told how to use the lidocaine cream, where to apply it, or when. When I mentioned not having the necessary Saran Wrap, I was told to "just go to the store." During. A. Hurricane. Ultimately I chose to forego any preparation just "winging it" The test results confirmed everything I had already told them they said my only solution was to go there once a week for shots that may or may not do anything for me. I don't know about you but I don't have a spare weekly hour in my schedule certainly not for a "treatment" that there is no guarantee of success for. I have composed this entire review in March of 2025, while on hold for the last 16 minutes. You see after they denied my prescription refill which helps me manage my symptoms they want me to come in for a follow up every 3 months. What for? My $75 copay is my only logical guess. The woman who called me back a few moments had arguably the worst attitude of everyone I have encountered in nearly a year of this horrific office and when I asked for a doctor to call back she said "well they see 35 patients a day" I clarified "so they're too busy" she stated "they aren't an office that sees 8 people a day, this isn't unusual". And refused to let me leave a message with them. While the doctors themselves are friendly , their treatment plans have proven ineffective. The front desk staff, however, are abysmal--rude, unorganized, and in desperate need of training. This practice needs a serious overhaul in both communication and professionalism. Do not go here, they cannot help you.
