It's been a while since I stayed here and the hotel is showing a bit of wear and tear. The shower door in my room was kinda stiff and coming off its rail. I made the mistake of shutting it close when I got in to shower (as one does). Then I couldn't open the door! The handle is sooo tiny and the door so screwed up, that I couldn't grab a hold of the knob/handle securely enough to open the door. After my hands dried a bit I was finally able to open the door. Made me miss dearly all those half shower doors I complain about, that you find all over Europe. I will never complain about those half doors again, no matter how wet the bathroom floor gets! The hot water doesn't work well either, starts out warm, then gets a little cooler the longer you're in shower. The AC never turned off. Now, I like it cold and that was a treat for me. But I totally understand that most people in the middle of cold wet December days don't want to come back to their hotel with no heat. This stay I opted to get breakfast the 3 days I was there. Breakfast is continental style, pastries ( quite tasty as well), hard boiled eggs, cereal, yogurt, juices. One day they had sausages (vegan ones too). Breakfast starts at 6:30 am, so on my last day I had to leave early, just a bit after 6 am. I was not expecting to get breakfast, but when I came down, I noticed that the pastries and bread had been set up. So I asked for a 'to go' bag. I was told no, even though the food is out and ready, you can't take anything until 6:30! I thought that was just petty. Pettiness is one of the deadly sins as far as I'm concerned. So I won't be staying here again. I love the location, so close to Kings Cross station, but I'll spend my money elsewhere. read more
