Plus, I haven't seen her as a patient since I donated four months ago.) - My "patient advisor" telling me, inaccurately, that they are concerned about my "liver" function. I pointed out that my liver function is just fine. - My "patient advisor" telling me that my (bad) kidney numbers "keep going up, up, up." That's simply not accurate. - The "patient advisor" telling me that they would give me Celebrex post-op. My response: "Um, no. As I told you earlier, as a kidney donor, I cannot take NSAIDs." - My "patient advisor" falsely telling me, apropos a possible discount, "As I told you earlier...." Again, that simply didn't happen. - The practice ignoring my PCP's clearance for the procedure and, instead, saying they would delay for two months. - The practice ignoring my nephrologist's verbal clearance for the procedure and, instead, saying they would delay for two months due to a minor blip in my kidney numbers. To be clear, they should have asked my nephrologist about a pre-op evaluation, not my surgeon. I'm pretty disappointed, as this was going to be my present to myself after kidney donation. To be clear: I appreciate their being careful. But when we are talking about my health, accuracy is key. And I am just not seeing it. Plus, while these inaccuracies may not be a big deal when individually considered, taken as a whole, they are deeply concerning. And I don't know how a patient can give informed consent when they are getting bad information about being given NSAIDs, etc. In fact, I don't know why you would give an NSAID to a patient post-surgery, but perhaps I'm missing something. I should also state, in fairness, that my patient advisor is very new, so that may be part of the issue. She also is not an RN, which is okay, but then she should have a high level of basic medical knowledge-like knowing that you cannot give kidney donors NSAIDs. I've asked for my deposit to be refunded and plan to go elsewhere. I'd love to recommend this practice, but I can't.

Dr Rostami, Alyssa and staff made me very comfortable during the entire process. Local numbing and an oral pain killer and we were ready to rock and roll. The entire process was fast and while I will say there were a few areas that were more uncomfortable than others, but it is tolerable!! I went home and followed all of the (provided) skin care routine and one week out it's looking pretty darn good. I'm not red like you see in those videos and most parts of my treated areas have gone from a sandpaper feel to nice and soft. I can't speak to the results as it is too soon but I can speak to the fear of getting it done. I cannot wait to see the results! After the three consultations with different plastic surgeons, I chose Dr. Freedman - and I am sooooo happy I did! Initially I was thinking two stars because the reception desk was so helpful, but reading the description, 1 star fits because my experience was such that I was afraid to let Dr. Gartside do my procedure. I got a strong impression that she didn't like me right from the start. Her comments felted rushed and dismissive. She said she wouldn't consider my procedure medically necessary. I met with a different plastic surgeon the next business day and they said it was absolutely medically necessary! So my suspicion that Dr Gartside was personally against me for some reason may be warranted. Things got more awkward in my consultation visit when I started calling her out on her aggressive comments and word choice. She said "I never schedule a procedure without approval from the insurance". This is after she just told me she would schedule, perform, and submit the claim to my insurance without pre-approval. I asked why she said "never" knowing thats not true? She clarified that she didn't "mean" the word "never" but on some level, conscious or not she was using bold, aggressive words with me, and again I got a strong vibe she didn't like me or want to work with me. On the positive side, the front desk and admin people I dealt with were extremely nice and helpful! Also the availability to get seen by Dr. Gartside seems better than other plastic surgeons around (that could be related to her relatively lower review scores?). I'd say I'd recommend Dr. Gartside only if you are in a time pinch and you know going into it to take her word with a grain of salt. If she doesn't give you what you want, talk to another doctor. I ended coming back a few weeks later for my own consult and had a lower facelift and the bottom eyes done. This time my sister came with as a driver and for support. The surgery is performed while sitting mostly upright in a examination room chair. I think that may have been why the swelling was minimal. Dr. used novocaine a local anesthesia and I had no pain during the surgery. Keeping icepacks on for the ride home kept the swelling down too (I brought frozen peas in a cooler since my ride home was over an hour.) I wish I had filled my prescription before that day since the ride was long & then I had to wait in the car for my pain meds and I was too uncomfortable for that. Later that day and the next, there was some pain & bruising. For several days I could not be active at all. I stayed with my sister for a few days so that my great nieces & nephews could walk the dog for me. No lifting... No bending... No anything that will cause you to strain. On the 4th day went home and pampered myself and I healed in 10 days. My results??? Fantastic!! Very natural but I did look about 10 years younger! That was in March 2005 and have always said that this procedure was so satisfactory, that I would return when I felt I was ready. Well I'm ready!! I am now considering going back in for another consultation. I just feel I need a touch up on the chin area and lower face. I was getting prefilled syringes with some pink liquid with no vials from verified pharmacy- no content or lot number! after gaining 6Lb in 2 weeks I have reached out to Irina and even she agreed that it was strange! they continued supplying me with the higher doses and after not seeing the results I have questioned the medication and found out that it was NOT an FDA approved GLP but rather a compoud that I could have gotten online for a 5 times less amount $$$, also I was made to pay$3500 upfront which I am fighting now to get a refund! i will continue posting my journey so stay tuned! p.S do not go to this office for a weight loss - but if you do g do your homework in advance so that you don't repeat my mistake!!
