Above & beyond, the WORST company & moving experience of my life, that I am STILL dealing with…read more I don't even know where to begin with this dumpster fire company. Pick up went...smoothly enough. The driver was nice, but drove off without saying anything or leaving documents I was allegedly supposed to sign. This left a weird feeling, but whatever, life is stressful. I get it. Fast forward to the day our pod was supposed to arrive: 6/13. We called the company to check-in about the drop off window as they had previously been very nice and responsive about this. The wait was over an hour, so we elected to have a call back. When we finally did get that call back, we were given an unacceptable time: 11pm-1am. When we asked about this, noting that it was well outside the original times we had been quoted and we have neighbors to consider, it was another hour wait. After waiting, the call back essentially amounted to "just kidding we don't know where your pod is lol. We'll call you Monday". That Monday, my birthday no less, the reason that we had elected to pay a little more for this company rather than a competitor, the guarantee that after a cross country move we'd have our stuff in a reasonable amount of time & before my birthday, we heard nothing. And again, had to call in, be transferred around, and wait hours. To hear, you guessed it, nothing! The following week, my partner and I divided up calls, trying to reach ANYONE who could do ANYTHING. Each time, waiting over an hour. Each time, being told we would hear back from: escalations, dispatch, upper management of all varieties, someone from the location we moved to, and on and on and on. We're still waiting. Thursday, the week after our pod was supposed to arrive, with NO notice, at 9am, someone showed up with our pod. Fortunately we were home & able to move our vehicle before getting blocked in the driveway. Unfortunately & unsurprisingly, they were a 3rd party contractor who could give us no information. So now, nearly a month after this nightmare began, almost two weeks after the original drop off date, I have an empty pod blocking my garage. Half of my stuff needed to be replaced negating the need for this service in the first place, my plants which would have been fine had this service worked as advertised, are dead, and I have no idea how to get this thing off my property. I have currently been on hold for over an hour. I will now be taking bets that they charge me for another month of product usage before anyone ever calls me back. To summarize: if you are on the fence about a company like this, take it from the person who hates writing negative (or any) reviews. You'd be better off setting your stuff on fire and giving up. Good luck on that move, tho! Pro tip to the managers: instead of responding to comments, use the time to call your customers back instead. If you have time to lean, you have time to clean.

Unreliable incompetent moving with time-wasting, zero-accountability, useless customer service…read more Lost our pod, did not reach out to update us, made us wait hours and hours over several weeks to give conflicting information. Pod arrived over a week late without any warning or info on when it would be taken away. It is still in my driveway with no guarantee when it's leaving and only the unaccountable promise of an absolutely inadequate refund of $50 for every day late. I'm going to have their equipment towed. Do not use this company.

The pins needed to hold up the shelves are missing. Isaiah told me they were in my old home office tape together in a ball. I went back there and found nothing anywhere I looked. Afraid to sleep on either bed that they reassembled. I removed the photos and changed the rating because Jerome from Moving ahead did an excellent job of correcting all our issues. I view the measure of a company not only on the original work but how they handle any issues that occur from the move. Moving Ahead Services did an excellent job correctly every issue we had. I recommend this business.

The Worse Rental Experience Ever…read more I was assigned a unit after paying for the first month plus an $80 deposit. The door was already rolled up when we arrived. It was only after we fully loaded our unit and I attempted to pull the door down that we discovered that it was broken and completely off track. I called the owner to tell her about the situation and she said, "So you're telling me that the door is hanging from the hinges?!?!". She told me to send her pictures as proof and then she would call me back... which she never did. When I called her back, she was extremely irritated. I finally got some assistance from a worker operating a tractor. He gave me a better unit. I was satisfied from that point. But when it came time for me to make the next month's payment, I called the office to update my payment information and couldn't reach anyone. When I called the owner's cellphone, she said, "I'm obviously busy... That's why I didn't pick up the office phone.". When I went to check on my belongings, we discovered that mold had grown on our stuff; plus there were stink bugs crawling on our things as well as mouse droppings. All in all, it was a horrible experience. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone, under any circumstances. I should've known not to do business with her when I initially asked if her facility was secure and she responded by saying that as long as I had renter's insurance, I should be alright.

I was told ahead of time that the movers would bring dollies, furniture blankets, and basic tools, which were not provided. We had to use my own blankets and bed sheets to protect my furniture, and I even had to borrow dollies from my apartment building because the movers didn't have any. I also had to repeatedly stop the move to adjust how my TV and furniture were loaded because they were resting against other items without proper protection. As a result, my TV was scratched, my sofa ended up with brown stains from contact with the truck, and my own bedding was stained from being used as moving blankets. To make matters worse, I was told towards the end of the move that I would be charged for an additional hour if they continued, even though the lack of proper equipment was a major reason the move took longer than it should have.
