Excellent place in uptown Philly to stay for the weekend . Great location , very easy to get around and walk from . The room was cozy with a queen bed and very clean and comfortable. The rooms are called micro but not nearly as small as I thought they would be . No closest but cool hooks on the wall , which I actually liked and used .Front desk staff was welcoming and friendly . I would definitely recommend this hotel and would stay again !

Stayed at Motto by Hilton in Philadelphia and found it to be a great choice. The rooms are spacious, modern, and well laid out. The hot water in the shower was excellent and the shampoo they provide is actually really good--better than most hotels. The place has a trendy vibe without trying too hard. Staff was friendly and courteous throughout my stay. Overall, a solid four-star experience and I'd stay here again.

I checked into Motto by Hilton expecting to experience something like a hotel room, and instead found myself inside a rather elegant storage solution. It was all there, just rearranged like a clever child's puzzle. You don't enter so much as tuck yourself in. The deluxe queen room, a term which in this case means you get a small padded bench by the window, was just about the size of a generous walk-in closet. No chair. No desk. Nothing you could rightfully call a workspace unless you have a very good lap and a high tolerance for back pain. But the bed was clean and firm and marvelously practical. You could slide a suitcase under it and it would vanish like a magician's dove. The bathroom, such as it is, contains everything you need, with the possible exception of mystery. The sliding door is translucent. You see shadows. You see outlines. If your travel companion harbored any secrets, you will leave knowing them all. It's a design choice best described as bold and least charitably described in polite company. Noise wandered in freely from the fifth floor windows, which either says a lot about the city or not quite enough about the windows. The walls seemed to share gossip between rooms. Not enough to be scandalous, but enough to remind you that privacy is a concept best left to the countryside. Down in the basement, you'll find society's great modern equalizer: vending machines. One full of snacks, some of which can be resurrected with the nearby microwave. The drinks machine offered cold comfort. The ice machine and accompanying buckets stood nearby, like a little encampment of mid-century conveniences huddled together in the subterranean gloom. What the hotel lacks in square footage, it makes up for in location. PATCO and SEPTA are nearby, which means you can flee the city or plunge further in with equal ease. Rittenhouse Square is a few blocks away, along with an incredible number of places to eat, drink and overhear things. There's a coffee shop attached and a Mexican restaurant on the ground floor that smelled like an honest attempt at joy. And should you need a view of the city with your cocktail, there's a rooftop bar eleven stories up. You just need to ask the restaurant host to unlock the elevator button, which feels vaguely like getting security clearance for a slightly below average over-priced margarita. The staff were lovely. Kind faces at reception, quick with a smile and directions. If humanity is still worthwhile, it is in part because of people like them. In sum, Motto is a fine place for a weekend escape, provided you do not intend to write a novel or hold a conference call from your bedside. Just be prepared to get more familiar with your roommate than either of you planned. Four stars. Because cleverness counts.

We had a pleasant one night stay at this location. The room was small but comfortable and clean. This is a place for sleeping and not for working. It was small with jsut a tiny movable bedside table - not great work working. But we were there only to sleep so it didn't bother us. The bathroom was comfortable but could have used a longer shower curtain - during the shower water splashed all over through the gap. There was also some dust on the shelves/bathroom spots. Location was close to everything. The cafe in the lobby was very good for breakfast treats and coffee. Staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming and made the stay even better.

Not high on my list of Hotels to recommend. Have stayed several times when in Philly as it is close to my son. Rooms are minimal and most are smaller than an NYC hotel. Not a lot of room for more than a single person. You literally roll out of bed into bathroom. Little storage areas or even room for suitcases and clothing. This visit was disappointing as my room was not ready at check-in time, room was not clean, as a Diamond member did not initially receive my food and beverage credits, and no one did what they committed to do. As a Diamond member was surprised I ended up with a room on a lower floor with a lovely view of the roof of another building. For me the lack of follow through was disappointing.

Came and stayed Thursday to Saturday. There was a lot happening in the city when I was here which made this location that much better. It's walking distance from a good amount of touristy things so you'll never have to go far or spend too much on a taxi ride. Amtrak isn't too far and the greyhound depending on which location you select is no more than a 10 min drive. The hotel itself is the definition of fine. You're not getting anything too special with the rooms. I got one on the fourth floor and there are three elevators so it wasn't a long wait. The elevators are quiet so you have to look up from your phone to see when they arrive. The rooms are small. So if you like space, this probably isn't the hotel for you. My room didn't come with an iron or steamer. Not sure if that's something you have to ask for. Lotion, shampoo, and body wash comes with the room. The front desk staff was excellent. They were my favorite part of my experience. Funny. Quick. And ready to serve. When you walk in there is a small coffee shop there with a few pastries, empanadas, and cookies for sale. Prices were shockingly cheap given the city and the area I was in. You'll pay about 5 dollars for most things on the menu. Theres a lounge / restaurant behind the check in desk and if you take the elevator to the top floor there is a rooftop bar which is open year round from typically 4pm to 11pm each night. There's a small gym on the bottom floor and vending machines. Your card is needed to access all floors minus the lobby. I'm torn between this being a 3 star or a 4 star place. But I'll go with a four because there's worsts Hiltons out there and the staff was super kind. The bed was pretty good for two nights.

    Right outside the front door.

Amazing hotel!! We are both Hilton Diamond members and this was our first time with the Motto brand. Rooms are small but well appointed. We got the biggest room they had and still only a queen bed. But we'd still go back. The amenities and toiletries were luxurious and high end. Divine soaps and shampoos. My wife and I both loved them. The staff were very nice! Pared down, but a step up from Tru.

We were looking for a hotel close to the starting point of the Philadelphia marathon. This place is about a mile a way and it' was decently priced for that weekend. The staff were super nice. The hotel is very thoughtful. The day of the race they have water bottle, electrolyte packs, nutrition bar for us runners to take. It looks very modern and hip. The room is small but the space is used efficiently such as a bunk bed that sleeps 3 comfortably. There's a safe, some rooms have microwave. You also need a key to use the elevator to go upstairs. There are 2 parking garage around. The hotel parking is $50 per day with in and out privileges. If you don't need that, there's a garage right next to it for $15/day. It's a very good location. There's a Target very close by. Jenni's ice cream is one block away. If I were to run the marathon again would definitely stay there again.

Just left an amazing stay at this hotel. If you don't plan on being in the room all day with you and one other person traveling then this is the hotel for you. We were so busy that we missed out on the rooftop and restaurant experience which sucked for me. I really wish they had more options available for people staying on Sundays besides the breakfast bar. Parking is directly next door and efficient but pricey. You pay that separately just let them know you're staying here. The pic is the view from my room. Highly recommend the is small but mighty hotel.

Really enjoyed our stay here. I think this was my first time at a Motto property. Front desk people were super nice. Room was clean, modern and though small was fine. Really liked the soap in the shower too! Restaurant was good. This location is great. Parking was right across the street (valet). I heard the rooftop was nice but we didn't make it up there.

There is not a thing to NOT like about this establishment. The staff is wonderful and very accommodating. The room is comfortable and well laid out. I would love for my home to be like this. I love the under bed space for luggage and such. And the farmhouse doors on the bathroom are aesthetically pleasing to the eyes. The rooftop restaurant/bar is great and nicely laid out.. And this place is jumping at night. The spot to be.And it's designed, as the staff person informed me, to be in the middle of what's happening in the area. It's so so perfect. I just love it.

Great Wall graphic down the hall pointing the way to the elevator. Genius!

I chatted first and then later called about the parking situation. hoever answered the phone explained the hotel is on a one-way street; hotel on the left and parking lot directly across on my right. $50. Can get in and out privales. Was pretty efficient although not cheap. When I checked in she said it was minimalist. She wasn't kidding! She also said I was upgraded from a standard room to a deluxe. I fear what the standard room was. Mine was basically a bed, TV, and two nightstands. It was handicap accessible. Shower very small but water pressure good and water hot. No closet just a few hooks in the walls. Nice TV. Comfy bed. The room was clean. When I got back in the evening there was a lot of commotion to my left with some woman demanded a refund and the Hilton desk woman patiently explaining since she booked through hotels dot com she had to get the refund there. Idk. To my right were two police officers interviewing someone. I just went up to my room. There were no bottles of water in the room. When I called down she said it was at the front desk and I should have been given it upon checkin. I usually get it as a diamond when I check on. Ugh...I got dressed again and went back down for the water. It was quiet. Location was amazing. But I prefer more frills. Didn't get to the gym since it was a quick trip.

She was social, hospitable and provided recommendations for different things in the city. The hotel is convenient to everything and very walkable. We had a time! The room is spacious enough for two people and has a modern decor. The decor throughout the hotel, however, is like an ode to hip hop culture. If you know me, I love sneakers, hip hop and everything that is the culture! The decor speaks specifically to Philly icons -- Will Smith, Meek Mill, The Roots, Jilly from Philly (Jill Scott), etc. Whoever was the interior decorator did a great job with honoring those icons and the hip hop scene. The restaurant inside the hotel was great too. I don't have any complaints besides the steep valet prices. I will visit again.

I was upgraded in advance without even asking, which immediately set the tone for a seamless, elevated stay. The moment I arrived, the front desk greeted me with a warm welcome and a genuine thank‑you for being a loyal Hilton guest. That small gesture goes a long way, and it made me feel valued right away. This hotel has a boutique vibe while still offering the consistency and reliability of the Hilton brand. There's no Diamond Lounge here, which is totally fine -- the property makes up for it with thoughtful touches, great service, and a fantastic location that puts you right in the heart of the city. Plus, the $15 food & beverage credit is a nice perk that I definitely put to good use. Overall, the Canopy Philadelphia blends style, comfort, and hospitality beautifully.

I wish I could say the same about Philly drivers. I've been driving around a lot and that hasn't been much fun. Almost nobody makes eye contact or makes room. We were a party of 4 in two separate cars: one party paid for parking in advance as a 'ticket and parking' package. The other did not. We arrived about 11:30 am for a Sat matinee. Lot was rather full, but more, the spaces were very narrow, which seems to be the case more often. There are only two elevators, and they also are exceedingly small, holding 5-6 adults max-which is an issue when the shows end and everyone is queued up to leave. Our biggest issue was discovering that the prepaid parking expired at 4 pm. Since we were staying for a post ballet dinner, we asked and were told that we would simply need to pay for the 1 hour difference. If only it had been simple; but no. Besides the fact that the booth attendant had a friend inside chatting to the point that we needed to honk to get attended, the attendant had no idea what to do with a prepaid ticket holder who was attempting to leave past the allotted time. Their default was charge us $30 (the rate charged the car without the prepay), making it $30 for one hour. We declined to pay that as that was not the posted hourly rate...and had to sit for more than 15 min and only due to the exceedingly long trail of cars queued behind us did the attendant finally charge the posted hourly rate and allowed us to leave. I was pleased with the accommodations and the Hyatt Globalist benefits, and the customer service was excellent! I made the reservation quickly last minute to head to the Hyatt Centric Center City Philadelphia just before jumping in a rideshare to head there. By the time I arrived, I was informed that due to my Globalist status that I was upgraded into an Executive Suite with a king bed (in literally an hour or less since I made the reservation). Compared to a 234 square foot 1 King Bed Corner room, the Executive Suite with 1 king bed is 546 square feet. The Corner Suite, 1 Bedroom Suite, and Presidential Suite are all a bit larger, but I really felt that I had two rooms even though you could see from one part of the suite to the other easily. The decor was quite modern with floor-to-ceiling windows, a plush king bed, a chic sitting area with a sleeper sofa, and a modern bathroom with walk-in shower. There was also a 60" flat screen TV, blackout shades, mini-fridge, and more. I also took advantage of the Chromecast option to connect the TVs with your phone and also the comfortable robes while staying there. The hotel was in the heart of Rittenhouse Square with historic streets and nearby parks and restaurants. The front desk staff were most helpful and very friendly upon my arrival. As my toiletries and luggage were still at the airport and unable to be retrieved, I received samples of most toiletries upon checking in, and what they didn't have, they directed me to a nearby CVS. They also walked me through the Globalist benefits including the complimentary breakfast, that I was able to take advantage of at Patchwork Philly right on the same floor as the check-in. I did have to take an elevator up a floor from the entrance to get to the lobby, front desk, and restaurant. It was easy to navigate the hotel, and I felt right at home. I really like the World of Hyatt loyalty program, which you can read more about at https://world.hyatt.com/content/gp/en/program-overview.html. With each stay, you can earn points and redeem free nights starting at just 3500 points. There are many ways to redeem points, including free nights, suite upgrades, gourmet meals, experiences, and more. After venturing back down to the first floor the front desk person on duty (who bless him tried to be helpful) wasn't aware of what rooms were available that could accommodate us. He eventually put us in a suite on the 7th floor. Sounds like an upgrade right? Nope. After getting mom settled, and letting her shower, I realized there was only one bed. There was also a sofa bed. Greaaaaat. The sofa itself was filthy (see photos), and the mattress itself (see photos) was worse. I also tried to get a cup to get water to give to my mom to take her medicines and the cup (see photos, admittedly hard to see) looked like it had water staining on it. I've contacted Choice Hotels about this horrible experience, but haven't heard back. I did however get an email asking how my experience with Resolution Specialist MJ was. So that's nice, no one contacted me, and they pretended that they did (see photo). I don't know how this place is allowed to operate. Stay far away from this place. Far Far Far Away

We had a quiet king room (no city view). No fireworks noise, though you do hear street noise. The room was on the larger side of small, but everything felt dated: furnishings, curtains, headboard, phone, fixtures, linens, towels -- all very '90s, including the tub/shower combo. The carpet was dingy and it definitely needs a refresh (ask for slippers). Room service came in a bag instead of on a tray, which made eating for two a little awkward. We had our two small dogs with us, and while the hotel itself is very dog-friendly (which we appreciate -- it's why we usually choose Kimptons), the immediate area really isn't. It's busy, loud, and there's no grass nearby. Rittenhouse Square is a short walk away, but when it's 12° outside, that's not exactly a practical solution. Food was average, the postcard station is super cute, and overall it feels like a solid 3-star hotel where you're paying for the location and the staff more than the room itself.

I knew I was communicating with a real person who would be dedicated to ensuring my arrival would feel special. While I was there, I asked for a tour of the hotel and was guided by the director of sales and marketing who pointed out so many of the unique architectural details of the building. It was a lovely tour full of little moments of visual pleasure. The hotels located in Rittenhouse Square area and a comfortable walk to restaurants. Tonight I'll be dining on site and will update this review at a later point. THE GUESTROOM: The guest room is very comfortably appointed and considering it is a downtown city hotel, quite spacious with wall-to-wall windows that lead in natural sunlight, even on a dreary winter day like today. There's ample closet space and a comfortable writing desk with numerous ports for charging and Efficiency.

All of the best eateries are within walking distance to the hotel; and if that's too much, a lot of restaurants provide delivery via their own drivers or through third parties (i.e. DoorDash, UberEats, etc.). The higher floors present a great view of city hall. It's even better when it lights up green after an Eagles win. My room also had a comfortable king size bed and complimentary sweet treats and champagne. With that being said, it was not my favorite luxury hotel stay compared to other Ritz-Carltons. Driving up to the hotel was confusing as there were no signs outside for the main entrance and the valet team was nowhere in sight. Usually, they would approach the car to help with luggage, but once they appeared they stayed huddled together and I had to approach them with my luggage and car keys. Once inside with my car sorted, check in was slightly busy, but I was able to get to my room within 10 minutes. The room was clean and smelled great, but the hallway showed the building's age. Throughout my stay there were additional inconveniences. The bathroom had cheap toilet paper and loud plumbing. The shower wouldn't produce hot water, even at 4am, so I had to take warm showers. The walls are very thin. I could hear my neighbor on a business call at 7am, and I could hear people in the hallway. The only guaranteed quiet a guest would likely have is if they booked a suite and stayed in the room furthest away from the hallway. Last, the Fitness Center was at least 78°. There were two box fans that failed at circulating cool air, and my attempt to be active was very uncomfortable. I love Ritz-Carltons, but the low quality service and offerings felt like a Courtyard impersonating one of Marriott's luxury brands and it was very disappointing. Cheap toilet paper and box fans should not exist inside a Ritz-Carlton. If it weren't for the view and spacious room, my rating would be lower.

Ken met us right as we pulled up and gave us a parking pass--we were literally in front of the hotel, and as it was a 24-hour Sunday to holiday Monday, our car was parked there for free our entire stay. Plus the price is incredibly low for what you get, and includes tons of amenities that chain hotels would charge you extra for-- L'Occitane products, fancy spring and bubbly waters, coffee and espresso and much more. And the common areas are just beautiful. Hands down one of the best hotel experiences we have ever had anywhere in the world.
