I also asked him to rototill and amend the soil with top quality amendments. We had talked about the 4 cu yards I would need. He arrived with his crew and they started clearing while Calmo went to pick up the plants I had purchased along with the amendments. He returned and we laid out the plants. I noticed he had not brought the rototiller or the soil amendment and asked. He skipped my question. He asked if I had planned on landscape fabric or bark chips. He said he had bark chips. I had not intended on it, but had 8 bags in the garage. He said we needed 20 more. I was getting frustrated that our visions were not meshing. We bought more mulch. Skipping to the end, my yard looks nicer, but I did not get what I wanted. He tried to push me towards getting sod and also having him put in a sprinkler system. 1st to review? Really?? They have been in business for years and years! I ask my retired uncle…read morewho built homes who he used as a roofer and he told me he used Cogent for years and was always happy. I called them up and got on their list. Yes, they have a long waiting list, but it's worth the wait. They finally came out this week and as with everything else in my life, the roof was worse than anticipated. I assumed as much because that's the way things work with me. They ended up having to take off all the sheeting, vents, the works! The roof was put together with 3/8" ply from 40+ years ago. They replaced all that out with much thicker stuff; I think it was 1/2" or even 5/8"; not sure. The eves don't sag any more and I can't count the rafters from standing outside anymore as the roof is flat now. It only took them about 1/2 day longer than anticipated too. These are some hard working men!!! I would have died on the first day up on that roof but they just kept going. This is one of these rare times in life when you hire someone to do something and they do better than you think. That is pretty rare now days. If you need a roof, give Cogent a call.

I thought I'd have to hire specialists for each of these issues but Chaz assured me they could "do it all". And they did!! The team works together like a well-oiled machine - doing the repairs and painting with minimal delays. The biggest issue was matching existing paint color with the new areas.
