The staff was friendly and professional, but didn't try to sell me on their services or getting a new account, which was quite refreshing. I was in and out within seven minutes on a Monday afternoon, during which time I spoke with the teller, cashed a check, and was personally greeted by the branch manager. She didn't ask if I needed help, because I was talking to the teller and ostensibly would have asked him already, which is heartening--it means she trusts him to see to her customers' needs without micro-managing or direct supervision.

Most of my business is conducted at the Old York Rd & Susquehanna Rd branch in Abington, PA. I went to the bank today to make a withdraw. I was 1st in the line awaiting a teller and there was one woman chatting w/ 2 of the tellers. The 3rd teller closest to me said, "I'll be with you in a few minutes." while she closed out what she was working on. After 4 or 5 minutes she got up and left. By now there are 5 people in line, and there are no signs of the 3rd teller, and the other 2 are still chatting w/ the woman ahead of me, who apparently had been to a wedding the previous weekend. Does no one notice there are 5 customers waiting in line and the only 2 tellers are have a social conversation about their weekend? This bank has the worst customer service I have ever seen. They obviously closed the wrong bank. The bank on Susq & Old York roads do a wonderful job and I try to take my business there, but sometimes the 620 Huntingdon Pike branch is more convenient. In the future I will try harder to avoid this branch.

On Tuesday September 1 I went to the Dresher branch to discuss a credit line. I was told they discontinued them. The only thing they had were personal loans. So I proceeded to make an application for a loan with a lady, Bachtel M. She was. Very nice and we discussed the amount. I will be doing home improvements so I asked for $60,000. She tried to get my credit score but it was frozen. I unfroze it but it would take an hour to see the score. Bachtel suggested I unfreeze all the credit scores at home because the bank was closing soon. We set another appt for Wednesday That night I unfroze my credit files which was risky because anybody could have access to my files and potentially scam me. I usually keep them frozen. When I went back Wednesday I told Bachtel I unfroze them. Then all of a sudden she told me I was denied, I thought that was impossible because the files were literally just unfrozen. Then it was lip service for the rest of the appt. Bachtel said the bank "secretly" checked my credit file but I couldn't see how they did it because they were frozen on Tuesday. So I asked for my scores and was told they are not allowed to tell me because it would be illegal, which I didn't believe because my mortgage guy and other mortgage companies always told me my scores, She reached out to the manager, Ciani who confirmed the same thing. I said I would be closing my accounts at wells Fargo and Ciani agreed that I should. If I wasn't happy. I told Bachtel and Ciani this was discrimination. It probably is because if the bank looked at my accounts they would see I am not a high roller. , Ciani did not tell me the advantages of Wells Fargo . She just told me to close my accounts which I thought was odd coming from the manager.I told them I wanted to file a complaint which they said they would, However when I went to my car I decided to call Wells Fargo myself and file my own complaint. I spoke to one lady at Wells Fargo that I was discriminated against and she immediately escalated it to her next level of support, a man named Javier. I told in detail what happened at the branch( ( I didn't bash Ciani and Bachtel because they were just doing their job. Javier kept saying as I was telling him the details that he would feel the same. ( could be more lip service ...... (will remain to be seen) Anyway Javier is escalating my complaint and he said I will be hearing from someone at Wells Fargo within 2 days. (We'll see) True, I don't know how banks do their business especially with respect to loans. A number of people, mostly financial people have told me Wells Fargo has bad practices and I've even had bad experiences with WF. They have a sales strategy that is suspect. They hard sell their financial products. One banker was insistent that I apply for their credit card which would enable me to pay down my other credit cards. I said no many times but he persisted.and I eventually got him to stop. I told him I couldn't open new credit cards due to me trying to get a mortgage. The long and short of it is Wells Fargo should not be a choice when deciding on a bank. It's hard to determine why they are not transparent.and very deceptive, not what you want with respect to your finances. I would highly recommend starting a class action law suit against them for the obvious lack of transparency. Please don't let Wells Fargo have any access to your money. I wish I could say worse things about this bank. They denied a loan to me even though all my financial ratings were either good or very good. Down with this bank. Choose another and as I said originally take all your money away from Wells Fargo by closing your accounts and selecting a better bank. By the way Wells Fargo doesn't even deserve one star but Yelp requires you to pick stars to post a review.

Who makes customers wait that long these days for a stolen or lost card? I had my wallet stolen and I got all my credit cards within 2 business days of reporting it except these nitwits. Then, when I decided to go get the card in person after waiting a few days painfully, they said the system was down and couldn't activate the new card I received at the branch! Hours later, I call them and the system is still down. Are you kidding me? A Bank, or CU Down for more than a few minutes? I told them if I didn't have it up by end of day I'd escalate. This is my escalation. Maybe one day they will learn to get it right!

They know me and my wife and speak to us when we stop in to make deposits, or do other bank business. The tellers are well trained and careful. Their services are reasonably priced. Several of the complaints here, with low ratings for this bank, note that they call the customer whose account is being debited before they cash checks. For some reason these reviewers think that is a bad thing. As someone who has been called several times about checks, I would like to go on record to say that this is a very good thing. I want them to check withdrawals from my accounts that are atypical. I'm pleased that they would take the time. Firstrust is a local bank. It's not a big, national, impersonal bank. That's not to say it's small -- there is a lot of money backing it up. But after the fiasco's in some of the nations largest banks, I'm pleased to know that I'm banking with people I know and with an institution that has an investment in my community.

This was kind of embarrassing for me because I didn't want to bother my boss on the weekend and interrupt his time with his family, but that's their policy. I just moved here from out of state, and if you want to open an account (so you can cash your check from your boss without disturbing him or her) here you need state ID, or a million forms of photo ID (actually 2 and a third with your name on it, a license and a passport) but who carries all that around with them. Their hours are inconvenient unless you work or live within a 5 minute walk from Rittenhouse Square. Otherwise, it was nice that they had a clean, complimentary coffee station and the customer service was pretty good, if a little cheesy.
