I haven't lived there in 4 years yet my number is still tied to one of the doors!!! How long does it take for someone to reprogram this?? I've reached out 3 times in the last few years but nothing works. Do not rent from PMC, they are horrible people. Management is awful especially the property management who is a huge C WORD. They don't fix things properly, we had ants in our 5th floor apartment and the told us to throw a rug over it. The also don't like when you complain. After I put in a formal complaint they wouldn't renew our lease. Which was a blessing because now I have a beautiful home in a wonderful neighborhood without slumlords ruining my life! Staff are rude and useless - calls ignored, emails unanswered, tenants treated like garbage. Fabricated fees - they literally make up charges not in the lease, then threaten collections. Zero professionalism - everything from move-in to move-out is a scam. Jeanne - hostile, condescending, openly incompetent, the worst "manager" I've ever dealt with. PMC was hands down the worst place I lived at in CT. The property on 210 Farmington was poorly managed. Even though it had great amenities like in unit laundry and dishwasher, it was not worth the hell I dealt with. The hallways stink and the outside has so much dog poop everywhere. Things disappear all the time!! Dumbbells from the weight room, packages from the mail room. And don't let me forget the mice!!! I probably caught over 10 mice in three months! So PLEASE, AVOID PMC at any cost! No matter the city or state, they do a terrible job with managing their properties. They're horrible communicators and should be avoided at any costs. read more

This is my first ever review, so please believe me when I say I wouldn't be posting if it weren't so bad. Working with PMC is a nightmare. I have lived at 900 Chapel St in New Haven for 5 years and can't wait to get out. While the apartments seems nice and reasonably priced, there is constantly something that goes wrong. If it isn't the frequent late night fire alarms, broken laundry machines, or out of service elevators, there is something wrong in each apartment that is never permanently fixed. We have put in dozens of requests to fix our dishwasher that doesn't drain and have never gotten to a point where we can reliably count on the machine to work. Additionally, the heat went out in our apartment multiple times during the winter and the building charged us over $600 for the energy used to run the electric space heaters they provided and it took months to eat them to admit it. Additionally, the front desk workers are treated horribly by management and have had numerous rounds of new rules and regulations set on them that make it almost impossible to do their jobs. It frequently takes forever to get packages because the guards are forced to go to a distant package room while people line up in the lobby. Most annoyingly, the three days before I moved they implemented a new policy where you had to move out of a loading dock in the basement instead of through the front door like everyone has been doing for at least the past five years. In addition to the inconvenience of not having the curtesy to email the building and let the tenants know about the change, the entire basement is dirty, poorly lit, and there is muddy water on the floor, and smells like garbage. The loading dock is too short to fit a normal sized couch, poses a danger to tenants, and is incredibly slow. It takes 58 seconds for the lift to reach the bottom which is still at least two feet from the ground, and there is a massive puddle of muddy water at the bottom. When brought to the attention of the management, they told me the tunnel was not their problem. At every step the management has been condescending, preemptively defensive, and disinclined from taking even the most simple steps to accommodate the needs of their tenants. The propery manager, Jeanie, is particularly nasty and completely unaware of the realities of the building. Any time there is a problem we are told that "Management says no" and are not able to speak to them directly. On a previous occasion I had scheduled three meeting times with Jeanie who no showed to all three and ignored my requests. I cannot stress how happy I am to get out of here. I was a recent applicant for one of the apartments that PMC was looking to rent. The leasing agent I had name was Tanaj. Initially everything was fine with starting the application process. They have a weird policy were they make you pay your non-refundable deposit when you apply for the apartment. First time I've ever heard of that. I turned in my application and even seen the potential apartment i was supposed to rent. I then had to wait for my application to get approved. The leasing agent Tanaj then started telling me I had to turn in additional documentation. No Problem. My application was denied which made no sense whatsoever because I met all of the requirements to be elglible to rent the apartment. I then asked for my refund to be processed on 11/15/2024. Today is 11/26/2024. I still haven't received my refund. Their policy online say 5-7 business days for your refund to be processed. I called them on 11/25/2024 and was told my refund was never processed. So I ask them if they can just write me a check because it was an error on their end and I keep getting a run around about who I need to speak to. Tanaj has told me for 3-4 times that corporate and her manager would call me and i still haven't received a call yet. I recently found out Tanaj called one of my jobs asking form y paystubs claiming I never turned them in when I have emails with my paystubs sent over from both jobs This happened after i was told my application was denied. So why still call my place of employment asking for paystubs they don't even have access to(PayCom). If you work in HR or a similar field you understand what PayCom is. I just recent made a report to the BBB and CT DCP because this is unjust and very unprofessional to say their a "corporate company". The apartments look amazing on the inside but they're just a shitty property management group. Also if you're a waiter or bartender I do not recommend to apply here they claim the system can't read paystubs that have cash amounts on them. I would not recommend to anyone especially given the rates they charge at some of their properties. Very unprofessional and they lack business and ethical integrity. read more

Jeanie, Maria, and Yolanda have no people skills and this building is overpriced especially since homeless people live in the building for free. Property management is aware of the issues and do nothing about it. the homeless main harass tenants, women/children, accessing the building via a exit door that is supposed to be locked at all times. The entire maintenance staff only speaks Spanish and are of no assistance. When you move out of your apartment for whatever reason no matter how clean it it you always find yourself with a fee. They don't even deserve one star!!! This apartment is doesn't even have a parking garage like all the other building downtown for the same price! I could go on for days about the disgusting things I have experienced. They also have a tendency of not renewing your lease if you argue with Maria or Yolanda or staff or complain to much and then lie about it. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PROPERTY GROUP!!!! Please read.. I have not lived at this property 266 Pearl Street, Metropolitan Apartments and I happy that I dodge a bullet living here. After carefully reading others reviews and the property management I seriously have to count myself lucky from not going through hell with this property management. Alicia Andrews, property manager, is a terrible communicator. Metropolitan apartments were viewed in April 2024 and until just very recent in June 2024 it took 2 months to tell us that we were not going to get the apartment and needed to move out of our current in at the end of June. Alicia response was "income was unverifiable" I am unsure how our income was unverifiable and were able to rent a townhouse that was more expensive then the apartment that was being shown as well as getting approved within 24 hours. Alicia gave a run around for 2 months after multiple attempts to be reached through text message, calling, and emails. Alicia did not follow up on ANYTHING it was up to us to to reach out to her for everything and her response when she wanted to respond was to give her a little while and either not respond or respond with the same information that could've been already resolved if she just communicated better. Both me and my boyfriend were fed up and was reaching out way to many times for simple communication that seemed to be very hard to get, this is a warning to anyone and huge red flag. We were told that she handles a lot of the properties in CT and she's the only to talk to regarding the apartment there was nothing anyone else can do. Alicia was very shocked and surprised to when one of the residents came up to Alicia that me and my boyfriend know asking what was going on with the apartment. She responded that my boyfriend came to the leasing office "making a scene" and part of the reason we did not get the apartment. My boyfriend did not make a scene he was simply trying to get answers and see if Alicia would talk one to one and get some paper work resolved. There is email proof, text messages that could clearly be seen of timelines that show Alicia was nowhere near a good communicator and just had us run around knowing that we are in a time crunch. After the comments and our own experience stay away at all cost, looks nice but proper property management is EVERYTHING if you don't have that you was lose your sanity and go through a lot of hassles. read more

Now having lived in one of the properties I can say that if you want a safe, maintained environment run by professionals who are accessible and accommodating RENT WITH ANYONE ELSE. These people will clear maintenance requests without even sending anyone out and then gaslight you about it. most requests have been left incomplete if attempted at all and will only complete an occasional request when you threaten to withhold rent. Do no work with these people. As I write this there is an alarm that has been going off for days in my building, making it impossible to sleep, for example. Considering time travel to stop myself from ever writing that good review. read more

I would give PMC Property Group zero stars but unfortunately Yelp does not allow me that option. The overall leasing experience was horrible, due to their unprofessionalism and lack of care. I was looking to rent in a building in Hartford, and Alicia Andrews, the leasing agent I worked with, was always horrible to work with. She was late by at least an hour for every appointment, lied consistently, terribly unresponsive, and the only time she actually pretended to do her job was when she was at risk of losing her commission as I attempted to work with literally anyone else. After two painful months of trying to sign a lease I finally gave up when the apartment was in despicable condition on my moving date. When I spoke to the the manager she could not be bothered to listen to my concerns. They took my money, told me they would give it back to me, and it's been over a week and I can't get a hold of anyone. RUN away from this place. 915 Main St. Hartford, is a complete disgrace. Management literally ignore your emails. They will only speak over the phone so nothing is documented. When speaking to them on the phone they literally don't care nor take any responsibility, but will quickly send you an email telling you your rent is late, while tacking on penalty fees. I want out of my lease without pentaly and live in a clean SAFE environment as I deserve! I was stuck in the elevator and they told me, I would be in "Approximately and hour", when I said that was not acceptable, they copped an attitude and shut me down - leaving me there for 1 hour and 20 minutes. The garbage "Closet" is near my apt door and the entire floor smells like dirty diapers, while my ENTIRE apartment smells like hot rotten garbage !!! It's gross and nauseatingly horrific. Ironically, your forced to wear a mask during pandemic, but no concern over Feces and Urine riddled throughout the building. I have lived here for 3months and have not received one pice of Mail because it gets returned, therefore I have missed important appointments, bills, notices etc........ I resorted to contacting the health department, while providing pictures and hoping they will step in. They lie about Amenities, safety and cleanliness to get you in - sign a lease and you can't get out! DO NOT MOVE HERE! This place should be shut down!!! read more

I read them when I was looking for an apartment in New Haven and decided to ignore them because the apartment was appealing to me. They are, hands down, the worst leasing agency I have ever dealt with in the 10+ years I've been renting apartments across the country. They WILL give you wrong information in writing and then turn you over to collections SIX months after telling you that they'd handle it internally and then never contacting you again. I am now having to hire legal help to dispute their incompetencies and have been entangled with this for almost 8 months after I no longer even live in New Haven. They will deceive you. They will tell you what you need to hear to get you to sign a lease. And they will ABSOLUTELY not respond to your legal team OR you for months on end and then sell your "debt" to a collections agency out of state. what do i write about this property. Stay away from Alicia, the property manager. She is a liar, cheater. She will lie to your face and then avoid any kind of written proof and steal your money. we were looking for apartments in Hartford downtown and bounced upon 915 main st. On contacting Alicia Andrews reached back and after few days of her missing appointment times we circled back few apartments. That should have been one sign how unprofessional she was. Anyways, we ignored that. When we had finalized one apartment, we enquired about lease breakage and she said and i quote "its only 750 and i can work with you to show it to other prospective buyers and even save you 250 there" we were impressed as we never came across such lease breakage policy and since we had a dicy lease term situation due to our jobs we finalized one apartment in 915 main st. Once we finalized she kept on forcing us to pay $500 as deposit to hold the apartment and we signed everything without reading and trusting her. She also promised that rent can be reduced $100 and there will be new appliances when we move in. As weeks go by, i reached out to her in email asking for confirmation on whether the maintenance works and appliance changes have been done. She never responded to emails. When asked through text she always said "oh i missed your email. have been busy." that hsould have been second sign. In between my father passed away and i had to travel internatinally and told her before leaving that my boy friend will be there and she should reach out to him. Such an ignorant lady, she kept on mailing me and every time i had to internationaly text her that she needs to contact my bf. Even after reminding ten times to send the leasing agreement ahead of time so that my bf can review and make arrangements to do everyhting in time, she sent it right before the due time. The leasing agreement was a horror, it didnt mention anything Alicia Andrews told us which was a huge red flag. On asking several times, she never responded to those emails. Basically she never gave in wirting what she said. The rent wasnt reduced as promised, the lease breakage was a normal 2 months notice with $750 which she so naively missed out mentioning. The lease breakage also said that property management can sue us any time and we have to bear their fees!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! what the!!!!!!!!!!!! then we heard through other past residents that they have done this before and even though the tenants won eventually but they had to face the court for months. So obviously we reached out to Alicia that leasing agreement is not okay for us and we even took time to send us our changes which she didnt even bother to read. We told her we cannot go on with her coz it didnt have anything that she promised at time of finalizing the apartment. Even the appliances, she said their quota is over so no further new appliances can be provided!!!! When we asked the deposit back, she is showing us the gareement we signed without readong trusting her that they wont give us back the deposit. So stay away! Dont do the mistake we did. I lived in the PMC-managed 900 Chapel Tower for nearly three years as a student, and while the apartment itself (#306) was pretty good, their management was pretty lackluster. Looking for more modern accommodations in New Haven that would include updated appliances and a fresher veneer than most other options in the city, I fell in love with the tower apartments, where I'd have my own outdoor area overlooking the green along with massive floor-to-ceiling windows in a security-manned building. Move in was easy, and if I recall correctly, PMC had some kind of reduced security deposit deal going to make the listing more attractive (I would've made the move either way, to be honest). My one-BR apartment was a bit pricier than others in the city, but I was paying for a gorgeous, central location and a spacious, updated interior. Given the cost, during my residence I faced a few issues that probably could've been handled better by management. The most pervasively irritating was my unit's water heater, which provided no more than ten minutes of hot water for a shower. I asked them to attempt turning up the heat, which maintenance claimed they had done several times over, but never saw any improvement. Ten minutes of hot water is okay I guess if only one person needs to shower, but it also meant I could never use the bath tub since more hot water would've been required. The AC system failed during two of my summers at the building, which makes you regret the wall of massive windows on one length of the apartment. Both instances left me hot and miserable for weeks at a time before a fix was eventually made. Again, for what I was paying, I felt a faster fix was warranted, and the fact that it happened again was truly irksome. The biggest issue I had with PMC was upon move out, where management contacted me three months after I'd left the city saying I was going to be evicted for non-payment. When I reminded them I'd already left, the onsite office said, "whoops, our bad!" and told me they'd lost the paperwork and not to worry. A few years later, I'm trying to purchase a home and see that PMC is claiming I owe them $8,000 for the couple months of rent after I'd vacated along with late penalties. I was outraged and had to recount the entire odyssey with the company. After lots of back and forth and legal threats, I ultimately paid them $1000 to just make the whole thing go away as to avoid jeopardizing the home purchase should fighting PMC go on too long. I honestly feel this sort of stunt is a deliberate tactic on the part of PMC to juice a bit more out of their customers when they're able to do so. Why had management not informed me of their claims that I still owed money? It wasn't until I was in a tough position up against the clock that I found out a supposed issue still remained. I never once paid my rent late, faced any complaints, or caused any kind of trouble as their tenant, so it's kind of mind blowing they'd take such a position. My suggestion is to document the heck out of your move-out with PMC and keep all of that info on hand for years to come. You never know when they might come back to haunt you... read more

I cannot accurately describe with words the poor work ethic and unprofessional demeanor of the PMC team. Starting with the leasing agent up to the property manager, PMC of New Haven is the worst group with which I have ever dealt. Maintenance issues are consistently ignored and inadequately attended to, the maintenance team is rude and inexperienced. The apartments themselves are spacious but if one lives there for any length of time they will notice glaring problems. I strongly recommend avoiding these properties at all costs. read more

I know what you're thinking: "Awesome! 55 On The Park is so much more affordable than most of the other downtown Hartford apartments! Wow! It's right on the park! The leasing agent seems so nice! Where do I sign!?". Reader, I was once like you. I lived down the street on Ann Uccello Street. Had a nice corner unit. Very quiet. But.....it didn't get much natural light and was $200 more. Maybe the first harbinger of things to come was when I started searching for the gym after moving in and a new neighbor interrogated me on whether I really belonged there. There are no strangers here, just grand inquisitors you haven't met yet. Then I saw the water fountains had gross stuff just left in there which no one seemed interested in cleaning. Next: "Oh, so, I have a 22 percent chance of finding a washer and dryer that is operational? So you're telling me there's a chance.............!?". My apt was an upgrade in sunlight but a major downgrade in size. A glorified studio which was worse than a studio because the wall which separated the bedroom destroyed any sense of open space. My leasing guy told me it was "780 square feet". Yeah no. Not sure what kind of new math they employ, but if it was 780 square feet, I'm a 6'11" NBA power forward. Now some problems were just bad luck. I moved into a small apartment 3 months before the pandemic. Covid wasn't PMC's fault (or was it?) but this made downgrading in size a massive miscalculation. Then there's the walls.........do you like your walls like Elon Musk likes his supermodels? White and paper thin? You're in luck! You're basically playing Russian roulette that you will get a decent neighbor. I had quiet neighbors until about 8 months into living there. Then my new neighbor's German Shepherd moved next door. I love dogs, but Cujo over there barked ferociously 24/7. But his owners weren't exactly mousey little wallflowers either. They CRANKED music and movies all hours of the night. One night they even left he music blasting when they weren't even home--the cops had no luck when they knocked on the door--and didn't turn it down till the next morning. My lease ended at the end of 2020. But we were in the pre-vax Covid world and in the middle of a massive surge so I got cold feet over leaving Hartford and taking the bus to work--I'm legally blind so don't drive. So I made the regrettable decision to renew my lease--for just six months--in a larger unit one floor down. Then spring came and I was stressing out over getting vaccinated (I worry too much) so when I got my lease renewal letter I put it aside thinking I can't stress out over moving issues. One thing at a time. In May I emailed management and said I was not planning to sign a new lease but could I possibly go month to month after June 30th since the place I wanted to move to didn't have current availability? No response. I tried again. Lost in cyberspace? Finally the assistant property manager replied and told me that since I didn't respond with my plans 60 days before the expiration of my lease, they had auto-renewed me for another year. I've lived in several different apartments and never before had anyone been so by the book about this. I pleaded with them. I asked if they could just let me go month to month for two months after June 30th. That would give them their 60 day notice and give them plenty of time to find a new tenant for my unit. Wasn't that a fair compromise for all of us? Crickets. Not up for discussion. Looking over the lease renewal letter, it did say at the bottom of page 2 that if I didn't respond within 60 days, my lease would be auto renewed. Buried. Just baiting people to miss the fine print (especially visually impaired residents) and get trapped into an auto renewed lease. Also after I had moved out of my first unit, they I owed 11 days of additional rent. I said but I moved on January 1st and moved into my new unit on the floor below. You know this. And I left the keys on the counter in my old unit-- also done in previous apts without issue.. They said it didn't matter. I didn't drop the keys off in the mail slot on Pearl Street so talk to the hand. Also, when I moved out of the first unit they said I owed $83.11 for my final electric bill. I said I already paid it. I wrote a check to the leasing guy on the day I signed the lease for my new unit--New Year's Eve . I then checked their own online portal and it showed a payment for $83.21 processed on January 3rd and labelled "final electric bill". I pointed this out to office staff. She said, "No, it's not saying what you think it is". "Well, what is saying?". No answer this writer could fathom. Finally I said, "You're saying it's a total coincidence that I paid $83.21 and there's a separate charge of $83.21 also labelled "final electric bill" in the portal?". She said, "Yes". Reader, she said yes. TLDR? If you can get past the thievery, entrapment, lying, gaslighting, and negligence, PMC isn't half bad! read more

Going to pile on here since it seems everyone else has noticed how terrible this leasing company is. They're legit slumlords. The apartments are actually nice, but they can never keep their buildings full because people just grow tired of dealing with them. They're unresponsive, they don't fix issues in a timely fashion, and they just generally don't care about doing their jobs. You spend more time trying to get in touch with them than you should, especially since you pay them your hard earned money. Do yourself a favor, look elsewhere. Worked with Laura to set up a single bedroom lease overlooking downtown New Haven. Super nice. Laura was fantastic from start to finish, respectful and attentive. The building itself and staff are wonderful too. Treat folks respectfully, and you will receive the same. If I could give negative stars, that would more accurately reflect how PMC treats their tenants. I lived in the Strouse Adler building for two years before finally moving out in May; my time as a tenant could not end fast enough. The apartment complex and unit I lived in had more than it's fair share of issues. Over the course of my two leases, the ceiling in my bedroom and living room leaked not just once, but four separate times. This caused staining on the ceilings and mold growth on both the ceilings and the carpet - the complex's remedy for this was simply painting over the stains, rather than treating it for mold. Additionally, the HVAC/AC/Heating units are terribly old and constantly break down. In the middle of last winter, my unit had NO heat for nearly a month. Apparently, a piece of the machinery for our heater would take weeks to come in, so we were given a few space-heaters. Not only were the 4 or 5 space heaters inadequate to heat my entire three-bedroom unit to the legally required minimum of 65 degrees, but they also skyrocketed our electricity after a month of constant use. We had to resort to wearing winter coats indoors for weeks, given that the temperatures dipped below 57 degrees at night. The past two summers, the AC unit also broke, leaving our unit 75+ degrees for several straight days. Trying to get maintenance repairs is difficult, if not impossible. You can either submit a maintenance request online through the PMC tenant portal or you can email the property manager. Neither of these methods will get you a response in a reasonable amount of time, if ever. The complex as a whole is also not well maintained. While it's great that the property is one of the most dog-friendly complexes in the city, absolutely no one cleans up after their dogs. The courtyard is constantly filled with dog poop. While owners are required to pick up after their own dogs, the property did nothing to enforce this. During the summer, the courtyard smells disgusting and is infested with flies as a result of the feces. The trash rooms are often over-filled, to the point where there is trash covering the floor. Washing machines/dryers are constantly broken (and cost $1.85 for each machine). Worst of all, just last week New Haven experienced bouts of flash floods due to a heavy rainstorm. The entire front lobby of the building and first 150 feet of the hallways were flooded with 1-2 inches of water. The drain outside of the lobby of the building had been broken for weeks, so the flooding could have been minimized or completely avoided if the complex had taken care of the drain in advance, rather than fixing it a few days AFTER the flooding. Everything at this property is done after something terrible happens; nothing is done to prevent issues. Finally, management is a nightmare to deal with. Melissa, the property manager, needs to be fired. She is unresponsive to phone class, emails, or in-person office visits. It's not just a problem with getting delayed responses - she straight up will not call back after multiple calls and emails. This was especially frustrating during my move-out process. I was told a DAY before my lease ended that there was an issue with a lease change form my roommates and I filled out, even though I had called/emailed/gone to her office collectively 10+ times in the three weeks leading up to the lease ending to make sure the paperwork was correct. I also had issues with her not answering calls/emails regarding my security deposit, an application for getting a dog, and all of the apartment-specific issues I had (leaks, repairs, etc). I genuinely wonder what she does while on the clock because it clearly isn't responding to tenant's issues/requests. While the apartment seemed like a steal for the price, it ended up being a nightmare for two years. It is NOT worth the price, the headache, or the inconveniences. Avoid at all costs. read more

This company is horrible. The walls are VERY thin you will hear when your neighbors use their bathroom, have sex, talk, watch tv, take a shower, walk, etc. First time EVER writing a review. If you are a student especially going to Yale do not sign a lease with this company PMC Property Group. Laurie, Melissa, and the whole staff is horrible. The lease may say 12mo but it is actually 12mo and 24 days they will lie and say they've made a mistake they will change it by taking off the 24 days but when you get ready to move-out they will remind you that its 12mo and 24 days you will need to pay an extra month even when you are not living in the unit anymore. Also they will keep your security deposit. The whole company is a SCAM! The hallways reek of garbage stench throughout the whole day. Very unprofessional and rude do not care whatsoever as long as you signed the lease and you are paying your hard working earned money. Disgusting how human beings can be so cruel. read more

PMC Property group should be ashamed of themselves. I worked with a leasing consultant by the name of Laurie out of the New Haven office. She was very attentive and prompt in the beginning; just long enough to get my full renter's application and security deposit. After providing her with all necessary documentation, I hadn't heard from her for weeks. I planned on moving into my new apartment by August 12th. The previous tenant was expected to be out by July 15th. By July 31st, I still hadn't heard from Laurie after several emails and phone calls. On August 6th she sent me a lease agreement via email which had an increase in the rent amount she initially advised me I'd be paying. For the sake of moving and being in a time crunch, I signed it anyway. Laurie wouldn't meet me to retrieve the signed lease agreement or provide me with my keys. After calling the office, I was advised by the receptionist that my keys would be left with the security guard at another property. Completely unprofessional. The receptionist also advised me that Laurie instructed NOT to go to the apartment until the 15th because they weren't done with painting and cleaning. I reiterated that my then current lease would be up and there was no way I'd be able to wait an additional five days to move in. On the 12th of August, I went to inspect the apartment before my movers arrived. The apartment was completely filthy, the walls were only spot painted and still wet as if they JUST did them the night before. There were also hard water stains where pipes were and live CENTIPEDES throughout the entire apartment. The only closet in the apartment had a door that wouldn't shut (it didn't fit the actual frame because it wasn't the original door). There were large openings in the wood floors where the radiator pipes were. The shower-head was broken, the blinds on the windows were ripped or missing pull-strings. Total total nightmare. I immediately put work orders in and sent emails to both Jeanne (property manager) and Laurie to no avail. I ended up having to physically go to the leasing office to speak to someone in person after calling daily for 6 weeks. Of course, neither Laurie or Jeanne were "available." The receptionist called the maintenance workers who agreed to "stop by" the apartment the following Monday. Here it is in January of 2019 and all of my work orders have been closed and are written off as "completed." Everything is still the same. I cannot wait for my lease to be up so I can be done with this place forever. STAY FAR AWAY FROM PMC. THEY JUST WANT YOUR MONEY! read more

Yep like every other reviewer I'd give negative stars if I could. Don't rent from PMC. My wife and I came to Yale as visiting profs for one year. On the surface the PMC apartments look and sound great. But they're pretty shoddy. We rent a 2 bedroom near Wooster Square. We noticed that the building often smells. Also it takes forever to get anything fixed. It's winter and a window on the 5th floor has been broken for at least a month. And for some unexplainable reason, the monthly utilities are outrageous. My favorite thing is that the certificate in one of the elevators has been expired for months. Oh and most of the time one or both of the elevators doesn't work. And you'll have to deal with the occasional fire alarm that no one knows how to shut off. You're going to pay at least 1500 a month to live in any of the PMC properties. It's not worth it. Trust me. Also the folks at the main office all have nasty attitudes. So do yourself a favor and skip this place. read more

I wish I could give negative stars. Terrible experience with this company and their representative Erica Cricchi. 1. In every dealing with Ms. Cricchi from the first email onward, she was rude and unhelpful. We came from out of state to look at an apartment and made an arrangement to meet her, but a few minutes before the time she TEXTED "I'm done for the day." No apology, and to text a message like that was pretty awful. We tried to call to see whether we could reschedule, and she didn't pick up her phone even though she had texted only 30 seconds earlier. 2. We made the mistake of meeting her on a later day. She was rude from the get-go - didn't even seem to want to pay attention to us. She was busy on Facebook on her phone when we were supposed to be looking at a rental apartment. She then announced in the midst of the appointment that she was not going to show us the second apartment we had scheduled to see. Stay away from this unprofessional group and their business. The apartments may be nice, but there is no reason to have to deal with such terrible attitude. read more

If I could give no star, I would. The building at 38 Crown looks nice, the apartments look nice, they have the best coffee shop ever in the building, it's around the corner from my job. I wanted to love it. But it's owned by PMC Property Group and they are THE worst. I was apprehensive about moving in here because I've heard a lot of horror stories about them. This includes one about a ground level apartment flooding in their 900 Chapel building and rather than fixing the problem they just moved my friend to a new apartment. I figured it was a new building and it probably wouldn't happen to me. I was wrong, dead wrong. Two months into living here, the entire first floor flooded after a 20 minute heavy rain storm. A few other buildings in New Haven flooded during this rainstorm.....most of which are also owned by PMC. I'm not sure whether to be relieved that they had Servepro out within hours to clean up the mess or alarmed that they have Servepro on speed dial. Either way, they made no effort to alert people that their apartments had been flooded, have not been forthcoming about what's happening and when repairs will be completed, and are refusing to honor a clause in their lease that states that tenants are not responsible for rent for the period when the unit is damaged. Furthermore, they are blaming the flooding on the city of New Haven and do not seem to have plans to fix what they call "water filtration", ie. water seeping in through your walls and floor. It's clear to me now why their ground level apartments have carpet instead of hardwood floor like the rest of them. They just rip it up and throw a new one down whenever this happens... Do not rent from PMC if you can avoid it. But if you can't, NEVER RENT A GROUND LEVEL FROM THEM. That being said, Greenwell is fantastic. I hope that my next apartment is also convenient to them. read more

DO NOT MOVE HERE!!!!! First of all 90 percent of my packages got stolen, and the new system they've come up limits the entry for mail main resulting in leaving packages everywhere. I moved without seeing the apt and it wasn't at all what I wanted or needed. I slept in the apt maybe 60 times in almost a year. I heard yelling all night some times I never felt safe there. When I got fired because of covid they wouldn't let me leave lease 2 months early they'd charge me 500 flat fee plus rent plus whatever re renting fees. They're not doing anything to help people in need.and on top of that when I said what if I leave early but the apt isn't rented and I still end up paying for lease will I get the fees back she said I don't know id have to put in request. YOU WILL NEVER GET ANYONE ON THE OHONE! The only good things about GMC are maintenance men (who don't ever stop) and Eriq who will do everything to get you into a home. But the only problem is they can't do anything to help you. Go anywhere else!!!!!! Rent is ridiculously high for the quality of the apt. And they're so worried about their floors but they weren't even put in correctly. After Eriq it had been a joke. They don't want to help people they just want to get you in a lease so they can profit on your misfortunes. STAY Away!! I was belittled for my situation and I can't wait until my lease is up! I'm not ending it early because the fact that I might not get fees back if I still end up paying completely! Yea NO!!!! People are rude in this building also! Stay away! read more

Undergrad neighbors partying all days of the week at all hours of the night. Property management non existent in terms of enforcing rules. Packages disorganized and always getting lost. It would have a beautiful courtyard in the middle of it wasn't for inconsiderate lazy neighbors leaving HEAPS OF DOG CRAP EVERYWHERE. Avoid this place at all costs. They will increase your rent every year. Oh and did I mention there are mice? And that the hot water only lasts 12 mins so if you live with someone that means 6 min showers for you the ENTIRE time you live here. read more

I lived here at 254 college st for a year and management is horrendous and tortuous. I hope they read this but I'm primarily targeting the greater population so they don't help them make money. - elevator was broken for several months during the winter ... it was like pulling teeth to get the management to get it fixed. There were always excuses. - then the elevator broke again prior to me moving. I lived on the 5th floor so you can imagine the impending move up and down. Naturally I was pissed and had to call daily to ensure people would come. But even then there were excuses from the elevator company and that was delayed unnecessarily. - they charge exorbitantly at then end if you don't "clean" well enough. It's like they expect sparkly and shining toilets and kitchen stoves. A quick wipe down cost me over half my security deposit. Never has maintenance and management been so greedy and poorly communicative and charge their residents with exorbitant fees. - good luck speaking with the property managers ... its always voicemail or a delayed email or no call back at all. - so not worth living here imo. But for cheap living, if you're willing to put up with above, it's fair. And the other pmc locations have likewise reviews. read more

DO NOT RENT WITH PMC OR YOU WILL REGRET IT FOR THE REST OF YOUR LIFE: PMC Property Group deserves to be in JAIL for numerous reasons. During my stay at the downtown Hartford location I endured many PRIVACY VIOLATIONS and ILLEGAL ENTRIES in my apartments without any notice (example my carpet was changed AND FURNITURED MOVED AROUND without my consent nor any notice, 3rd party vendors changed my apt windows without any entry consent/notice while I was on vacation and left my apartment door open) UNSAFE LIVING CONDITIONS (homeless man was sleeping in our hallways, I called the manager and she didn't care - I asked her to change the broken lock on the front door for 6 months and still didn't do it, I had to call the police to have the homeless man arrested and they too told me the front door lock was broken) NON FUNCTIONING ELEVATORS 3 out of 3 elevators always breaking down, consistently. I can go on and tell you in detail the horrible experiences I had during my 2 years with PMC, the incompetent staff, the poor management, the fire code violations etc but it is in your best interested to never stay at any properties managed by PMC if you want to avoid emotional distress. read more

I've been living at 41 niles street for 3-4 years and plan to continue to stay here for a while longer the property is always clean and I've never had an issues getting them to repair any issue that comes up! Every time I talk to my leasing agent or the managers they great me with kindness and a smile. I haven't had many other experiences at other apartments but future ones sure have something to live up to! read more

The absolute worst place to live. I would give 0 if i could, but i needed to leave this review to stop anyone from ruining their life by living here. I have had nothing but the worst experience possible to have with an apartment. My apartment had leaks 10/12 months of my lease. The leak went clear across the room & regardless of constant calls and emails, they continued to do nothing. They brought over "contractors" who counted the amount of steps from my door to the spot at least 10 times but never did anything else. They cut huge holes in the ceiling and then left them there and they were literally never used for anything. Once one leak was fixed after almost 8 months, 2 others started in my bathroom now and bedroom. Two completely different spots then the first leak. The emergency line is horrific, you will rarely ever get an answer and if you do so happen to get in touch with someone you will always just get "we will try to get somewhere there by Monday". It is never Monday when they show up & the problem will not be fixed. I was always on time with payments & really tried to be patient but this is the absolute worst place to live. I never even write reviews but if I can save someone from the hell ive been through, it's worth it. It rained in my house for 10 months. There is no excuse & they aren't even apologetic. No discount on rent or even an offer to stay somewhere else so they can attack the problem head on. I'm in my last month & it began raining in both rooms, I'm riding it out but the fact I spent another almost 2k on a place I can't even sleep with the raining pouring in is crazy. It started this morning (Saturday), & maintenance can't even reach the property manager. I'll update you with when I actually hear anything. I won't hold my breath **** It is now SUNDAY. No answer from emergency now or the manager. My ceiling has now reopened in all areas & began dripping on my HEAD last night. I had to move my bed to block the bathroom in order to get my head out of water. Keep in mind, my feet were still being dripped on. THEN the drywall begins to literally fall off of the ceiling. I called management & the emergency line again with no answer and sent multiple emails to the manager Angela. I even called the corporate emergency line in hoped they could help, but since they are based out of Philly, the operator literally told me they do not have any offices down here and I have to submit through the online portal, WHICH IVE ALREADY DONE TENS OF TIMES WITH NO RESPONSE. She then told me to seek an attorney for everythingI've dealt with over the past year and I will be taking her advice. DO NOT LIVE HERE IF IT IS THE LAST THING YOU DO!!!!! IF YOU DON'T HAVE ANY OTHER OPTIONS I WOULD ACTUALLY RATHER SLEEP IN MY CAR THAN EVER DEAL WITH THIS HORRID COMPANY. I am on month 13 of my lease and I cannot WAIT to get out of here. I feel very sorry for whoever must deal with this company next. This only deals with 50% of the issues I've had here, between being ignored, maintenance storming into my apartment, NO WARNING Not even knocking at 8am, when I'm a single woman who lives alone. The Residence on The Green New Haven, CT I love living in downtown but there are few things I wished i knew about The Residence on The Green before renting there . With that being said, some of the things that I have noticed for the past 4 months are: Cleanliness: Every time the trash is being taken out there is a very unpleasant smell in the hallway specifically the 9th floor that stays for days at a time. It smells like wet animal and sewers together. It is very unfortunate that they don't have a chute system for the garbage but even then some sort of odor eliminator would help. OH BTW that odor gets inside my apartment since it is right across from he garbage room Air Conditioner: The residential hallways are not well ventilated. So imaging a hot, musty and sticky hallway with the trash smell I described above. Very unpleasant and upsetting. Makes you want to break your lease and move somewhere else. Parking: Now another issue is how expensive the parking is and how poorly the maintenance to the parking garage is. So basically I pay $188/month for parking. Gratefully, the company that runs the parking garage keeps their lot clean and smells good. But, it's on the way there. From the stairwell down to the actual door off the parking garage again smell like sewers. Elevator: In a downtown apartment there should be some kind of security system in the elevators like a key fob or security code to bypass the residential floors. SO anyone can actually walk into the building get on the elevator and go on any floor as they please. That is very unsafe. I spotted some random person in the hallway couple weeks back :/ not safe! Refrigerator: Mine doesn't make it's own ice as in connected to a water line so I have to make my own ice in ice trays It is really discouraging to live there. Aside from all the negativities i listed above there are certainly some good features to this place. Great downtown views, large windows, newly renovated units with new appliances, gym, bike room, mail room, etc. I really hope someone from management sees this review and fixes the problem. So far i am disappointed with this place wish i had gone with State Street Building. But again don't know what other issues i would find there also cuz you can never get it all unfortunately read more

I have been a tenant at 900 Chapel Street in Residence Court for almost 3 years now. I loved the short commute to the hospital however, sadly, I have had a terrible experience not only with my apartment but also the management and maintenance team. During that 3 year time period, I have had 1. A roof leak during winter that went 2 weeks unresolved 2. A broken toilet and currently 3. an AC outage during summer that has now gone unresolved for over 2 weeks. There was once an incident where the fire alarm for the building went off from 12 am to 3 am because no one in the building knew how to turn it off. The property manager, Jeanne, and assistant property manager, Shana, are not responsive via email and do not provide details on maintenance requests leading you as the tenant to feel in the dark about your maintenance requests. On multiple occasions, folks have entered the apartment without leaving door hang tags of what was done and when. When the maintenance team came to fix the toilet, they were extremely unprofessional and drilled in the bathroom. However, they did not clean up after themselves leaving disgusting sewage particles remaining on the floor as well as debris. Please take a moment to reconsider your choice of a PMC property. A year from now, you will be glad you did. If you think the property will be worth a short commute to the university or hospital, again, please reconsider. A better option may be a MetroStar property. read more
