We brought our infant son to PM Pediatrics in Selden for an RSV test and the entire experience has been extremely disappointing. When the nurse assistant came into the room to take the swab, he never confirmed our child's name or information. My wife immediately noticed that the test container had the wrong name on it, but instead of correcting it on the spot, it seems it was left as is. Now, more than 48 hours later, we still do not have any test results. Each time we called to follow up and explained that the name was wrong on the container, we were told the same generic response: "test results take 24 to 48 hours." Not once did anyone take ownership of the mistake or provide a clear answer on whether our son's test was actually processed correctly. As first time parents, this situation has caused a lot of unnecessary stress and worry. Accuracy and proper communication should be the most basic standards in pediatric care, especially when testing an infant for RSV. Instead, we left feeling ignored and brushed off, without confidence in the care or the system in place. Parents trust facilities like this with their children's health, and unfortunately our trust has been completely shaken by this experience. If you do bring your child here, double check every label, name, and detail before allowing them to proceed, because clearly the staff does not. read more

Go see your own pediatrician or just go to the ER. They will just send you to the emergency room because they don't want to take responsibility for anything that isn't a minor cold. They will actually tell parents you "have to". I have heard stories where they said they will follow up and call child protective services if you don't go. And the kicker is that they still charge a copayment. Crazy, just crazy. read more

Very nice staff, very friendly and they see you quickly. On site staff--5 stars. But they billed my insurance $300 for a strep test and wouldn't/couldn't tell me the result. The customer service line is definitely outsourced. I tried there online portal it's just not good. "Doctor " on staff doesn't know the difference between a deer tick, dog tick, or lonestar tick. Kept insisting that only lonestar ticks give Lyme disease and that they never come off on their own once they finish feeding. Refused to test child with multiple symptoms of lymes saying it wasn't possible. Child later tested positive for lymes. read more

Be warned! Take your child to an establishment that cares more about caring for your sick child and less about whether or not they can have your credit card information. We were literally turned away from being seen at the Selden location of PM Pediatrics yesterday because I did not have a credit card to leave on file. Apparently, the cash I had in hand to pay our copay wasn't good enough, and we were told that if I didn't put a credit card on file for them to charge at their whim for whatever fees they deem fit, my child would not be seen. Calling corporate was useless, a man named Phillip continuously put me on hold, and then hung up on me. Office manager, Ashley Acker (who made sure to spell her name for me, love that...) would not override the ridiculous "company policy" and allow my child to be seen. She actually had to audacity to tell me "everyone has a credit card" and this is "what every doctor's office does." Not true!!! I have never, never been asked at any doctor's office to leave a credit card on file for them to charge whenever they deem fit, and we go to many doctors with my autistic child. They are a privately run company and care more about how much they can bill you than actually caring for your children. So, moral of the story... this practice only cares about those pocketbooks, and if you have an emergency situation and no credit card, take your children elsewhere. LI Urgent care is fantastic, as is Go Health through North well. After hours, we hit the ER. Honestly though, I implore all parents to say no to this ridiculous policy and discontinue using this facility. read more

Walk-in wait times are fair, but there are usually appointment slots available online. The office is decorated so cute and geared towards children. This is my first time at this location and I was truly disappointed. We waited 57 Minutes. Never in my life I waited this long. I'm not even pissed about the wait because it is the holiday weekend and all the pediatrician are probably away on vacation. So my daughter woke up with pink eye. I told my husband we need to take her to PM Pediatrics we plugged it in the GPS and this was the closet location. Clean like all the other ones and an ok friendly staff. We check in as a walk in and waited 30 min before we even registered. Next time I will do it online. Later on we got called in to our room. Confirmed Pink Eye, They check her ears and everything else and said everything looks great. Definitely wasn't a fan of the doctor, she had no bedside manner at all. Long Story short. I'm giving one star because first of all, the wait is usually ridiculous, even when you check in online but besides that I had a terrible visit! The attached picture is my throat, I went in with it like this and the NP barely looked in my throat and said she saw nothing, but I took a picture 5 minutes after my visit and they were all there still. This was last night, today I woke up in extreme pain and it's getting worse. I can't eat, talk, or swallow at all, not even Tylenol. I missed a day of work because of this now, I work with oncology patients with weak immune systems and I can't risk getting anyone sick. I wish the NP wasn't in a rush and actually looked at my throat because there is CLEARLY something wrong. Now I have to go somewhere else and I don't plan on coming back. read more

Absolutely unprofessional. The front desk receptionist tonight raised her voice at my husband, rolled her eyes at him and refused to give either of us her name. She said we couldn't have two adults and two children there so my son and I left. She laughed out loud at us as we left. My other son who was symptomatic stayed with my husband to be tested. I work in healthcare and I know very well everyone is exhausted and drained but there is no need for total rudeness. A few weeks ago I had bring my 8 month-old daughter in. - it was about 8:45pm. She had been experiencing congestion, a cough and fevers which got progressively worse and began to cause labored breathing with an audible whistle and she was barely able to cough let alone breathe comfortably. I brought her in and there were a few other kids already waiting, but they brought my baby in stat since they saw my check-in notes and the heard her breathing from the behind the front desk. They were patient and kind and baby had whooping cough. They were thorough in their explanation of what they would do and why I would be there for a few hours to monitor her after an epinephrine-based nebulizing medication. They were very accommodating; bringing my snacks and water they making sure I was comfortable with baby girl in the room while I held her and gave her the treatment, they even turned on the tv, turned off the light and period checked in on her. She was so much better after being treated and could actually breathe better and sleep! My nurse and PA were amazing! Thank you!! read more

These guys are awesome! Been here twice with my son. First was 8 months ago and turned out to be nothing - but after a cross country drive and not having a doctor out here it was just great to be seen so fast. Out west urgent care like this is everywhere. We were back last night. We'll worth the hour drive from home to get him seen immediately. His doc closes at 4 and not open Tuesdays and didn't want to wait. Really fast visit, even with getting a chest X-ray to confirm a slight case of pneumonia. Fast urgent care visits are rare, but even more surprising is the doctor remembered us from the visit 8 months earlier If you need to get your kids seen but not quite a 911 type emergency I would highly recommend this group! Cash prices are really reasonable for the level of service too. read more

After taking my daughter to a different urgent care and was told she had a diaper rash, I brought her here because it was getting worse. This time I got to the bottom of her rash. Firstly, this place is so adorably cute and welcoming. The nurse at desk greeted us and was very nice. The medical assistant, think her name was Marie or Maria was very attentive and even kept my son engaged. Doctor was very knowledgeable and was able to get to bottom of it. Everyone was very sweet, and welcoming. A really great experience. PS. I was there maybe 20 minutes in all. Glad I found this place. read more

The best urgent care for kids around! I've been here twice; once for a dislocated elbow and just tonight for my 3.5 year olds nasty lingering cough. We saw the Nurse Practitioner, Norman Cruz, and he was an absolute delight! As a nurse myself I can be a tough critic of MD/PA/NPs when it comes to my daughter and he was excellent. From his assessment skills, to bedside manner, and easy-to-understand description of what was going on and the treatment plan, I was so impressed! The rest of the staff were very pleasant as well! PM Pediatrics isn't a place you take your kids in lieu of their primary care physician nor is it a clinic. It's the place you go to when your kid acts like maniac when he skips naptime and breaks his collar bone after jumping off the coffee table, and you don't want to deal with the stress and hassle of the ER. Or if your toddler spikes a high fever and breaks out in a million little red spots immediately after her pediatrician goes off duty for the High Holidays. PM Pediatrics is the place to take your kid in an emergency when you just don't want to further traumatize the poor thing by taking a trip to the local hospital. The Suffolk branch of this chain is located in a strip mall with ample free parking. It's open year-round from 5pm to midnight (which is when all my kids' emergencies seem to have happened) and no appointments are necessary. Another bonus: no long waits like at the hospital. We were seen within 10 minutes of checking in. The front desk staff is quick (seriously quick: they process your info by scanning your drivers license and insurance cards) and friendly. The waiting area has two rooms, a larger castle-themed one with the regular magazines and pamphlets; the other has a Playstation that had a Spiderman game on during my visit. The office has pretty much everything that an ER has: several exam rooms (each decorated in a kid-friendly theme, like sports or Harry Potter), x-ray machines, and a lab. The doctors have admitting privileges at area hospitals, so if things are really bad you can go straight there and not have to wait in triage. The doctor who saw my daughter was kind and has great reflexes to dodge my 14-month old's baby kung fu. She was diagnosed quickly, we had a scrip for meds and were out 30 minutes after walking through the door. The idea behind PM Pediatrics is genius and I wish there were similar places for adults. We had a very good experience there, and the doctor was good, but I can't see that anything happened to make our visit extraordinary for a 5 star review. Still, I highly recommend it. read more

I had a terrible experience because of the blonde, obese woman who sits at the front desk. She saw that I was frustrated when I had to reenter my son's information in their new system and was very rude to me during this process. She also let two children who were walk-ins be seen before my son. When I asked her why my son wasn't called before the first child who came in after us, she said it was their system and that our names were very close. I don't believe her at all. I believe she intentionally made my 11 month old wait because she didn't want to help me enter his health insurance information. I already tried sending a message to the company about her, but I feel compelled to share to the world what a horrible human being I think she is. read more

I would usually accompany my daughter with my grands and usually I have no complaints however my last visit was really shocking to everyone's ear, I experienced who I believe was a manager speak to a staff member using profanity in the presence of myself and other patient, I felt embarrassed for that staff member. My son got hurt at school and had a Little cut under his eye so we Decided to take him to pm pediatrics. The girl at the front desk was super helpful and I didn't need to fill out 1 piece of paper. We may Have waited 15 minutes if that which I though was really good for a place like that. My son was taken Into a room and the doctor came right in no waiting at all. They glued the cut and went through care and instructions. This place is really good and would recommend again, the only thing that bothered me was there were 2 girls behind the desk where they had a bowl of pops and stickers for the kids who were talking to each other and my 6 year old said excuse me to them at least 4 times without them even raising their heads before I distracted him and tried to get him to walk out. If you work at a place that deals with kids all day long you should really learn to interact with them instead of Worrying about what happened in school that day but would not let that spoil the other people who did an amazing job. read more

I visited PM pediatrics while on vacation in the North Fork, as our nurse on call advised us to take our daughter there rather than the local ER. We arrived at 11:30 p.m. and there was no wait and the nurse who helped us was very sweet. However, the doctor had no bedside manner and it was clear she just wanted us out of there (as they close at midnight). Our visit required some patience and time for my daughter to feel comfortable and the doctor did not provide us that - she hustled us out of there, was pretty short with our daughter, left us without a diagnosis and told us to come back the next day (we had driven an hour to get there and told her that). But, the worst was as we were leaving (at midnight, right when they close) the staff cheered as we left and said "go doc!" I am assuming because the doctor got us out of there so they could go home. So, we left without help for our daughter and had to pay a (not cheap) fee upfront. I wish we had just gone to the local ER. read more

Wow! Amazing knowledgeable clean compassionate care.... Wonderful. My family recently moved from Staten Island and when we were in the middle of trying to choose a pediatrician they came down with a virus. Luckily I was recommended to go to p.m. pediatrics by a friend. We saw Dr. Tischler and she was wonderful. We did not experience any wait time... And we were treated excellent.
