Have been here previously and always a great experience. However, this last time was not. Both the RN and doctor were rushed, both seemed to have a chip on their shoulder and brushed off our concerns. Considering this is a clinic for kids, I would have expected a lot more patience and much better bedside manner to both the kids and the parents. read more

1 Star -- Repeated Negligence and Refusal to Listen We gave this urgent care a second chance -- a serious mistake. On two separate occasions, their providers ignored clear household medical context and refused to prescribe antibiotics when they were plainly warranted. The first time, our 5-year-old's worsening ear infection was brushed off, even though multiple family members had the same bacterial illness and recovered quickly after receiving oral antibiotics from their regular doctors. We went to another clinic the next day, where the provider listened, prescribed antibiotics, and he recovered. Recently, our 2-year-old developed conjunctivitis identical to her brother's. When we brought her in late in the day, the provider again refused to prescribe antibiotics. As a result, the infection spread to her ears, causing painful, sleepless nights -- an entirely preventable outcome. Convenient late hours don't make up for poor judgment. We will not return and urge other parents to seek care elsewhere. read more

I bought my child into PM Peds after four days of a bad cough, shortness of breath, an unrelenting fever as high as 105.1, and testing negative for RSV, Covid, flu, and strep. Worried about pneumonia, I begged the doctor for a chest x-ray after describing all of my child's symptoms. The doctor was incredibly condescending and dismissive. She refused to do the x-ray and accepted a faulty thermometer reading of a lower temperature despite the child feeling extremely hot to the touch. Two days later, we found ourselves at the ER, where we finally got an xray which revealed... significant pneumonia visible to the uneducated eye. This provider was lazy and negligent in refusing to give an xray to a child with a high fever and constellation of pneumonia symptoms *while it was running rampant in the community.* Thanks to her inattentive and dismissive attitude, my child's treatment was delayed and her condition continued to worsen over a holiday weekend. read more

Took my son there who was experiencing severe belly pain and was nauseous/throwing up. They dismissed it as viral gastroenteritis even though he was showing classical symptoms of appendicitis. Did not refer us to ER. When his condition got worse the next day, I called up the PM Pediatrics customer service to see if they can give him IV fluids. They confirmed the location does provide IVs. But when we went there, the rude lady at the front desk spoke condescendingly they do not do IVs there, we then took him to ER. There the doctor immediately suspected appendicitis which was quickly confirmed through ultrasound and clinical exam. He underwent appendectomy the same day.., read more

In my 25 years of parenting, I have never encountered a ruder, more dismissive medical professional than Dr. Raynes / Raines / Reins (obv unsure of spelling) at PM Pediatrics in Ashburn. Our teenager has mild asthma that can flare with certain illnesses-- this has been so infrequent that he has not had to use an inhaler or nebulizer for 3-4 years. After being sick with a URI for 7 days, that included a midweek visit to the pediatrician and a Z-pack for assumed sinusitis, he became appreciably worse Saturday. While not struggling to breathe, he spiked a high fever, was having tightness and pain in his chest that was not alleviated w nebulizer treatments, and just looked much sicker despite the past 5 days of treatments. Upon arrival, PM Peds weighed him, but did not take his temperature, pulse ox or BP. Dr. R arrived, listened to his chest, and was immediately condescending and insulting as she assessed that his lungs were clear and he just needed rest. She even said, "Yes, that's what kids do when they're sick- REST." (Lady, I've been a parent since you were likely in Kindergarten and this is my youngest.) We asked if she could possibly xray his chest to rule out pneumonia and she refused. "No reason- his lungs are clear." Following maternal instincts and knowing illnesses should be improving with time and treatment, when his fever went up to 103 this morning, we went to the ER. He was just diagnosed with pneumonia. Dr. Raines is a nightmare who really has no business in a patient facing setting, even if PM Peds affords her a business model that requires no patient relationships or follow up care. read more

This practice gets 2 stars only because my previous experiences here have been somewhat decent. But after my experience yesterday, I'm not sure that I can ever give this business another opportunity. My 4-year old daughter woke me up at 11:20 complaining of ear pain. Since PM Pediatric is open until midnight, I quickly got her ready and rushed down the road to get her in before it closed. I arrived at 11:39 by my watch and noted both the sign on the door (open till midnight) and the sign at the front desk (last registration taken at 11:40). There were 2 cars in the entire parking lot, which I have to assume belonged to the remaining staff. And yet, I was told the practice was no longer accepting anyone for the night because they were still treating "lingering patients". If you are not going to honor your actual hours of operation, then that expectation should be clearly set. Do not have people drag their kids out of bed to rush over to your office to turn them away. Your hours of operation should be changed to 11 or 11:30 and your signage should clearly back those hours. "Absolutely terrible and unsympathetic" is about the only way to sum up this experience. read more

$300 dollars for strep throat test - beware. My recent visit to PMPediatrics Urgent Care has left me extremely dissatisfied and frustrated. They unexpectedly sent my son's strep throat test to an unknown lab, Virant Diagnostics, in Silver Spring, MD, deviating from national providers such as Labcorp or Quest without informing me. The shock came when I received a $300 bill for this test, as Virant Diagnostics is not covered by my Cigna insurance. Despite reaching out to PMPediatrics for support, their billing department provided no ETA for resolution and pretty much told me that they will get to it when they can get to it. read more

We brought my son here on 11/25 as he was showing symptoms of RSV - which we explained to the nurse/doctor. My son was given a steroid, diagnosed with Croup and sent home. The doctors did not test my son - not for RSV, Covid or the Flu. My son ended up getting significantly worse the next day. We brought him to the ER and they stated he did not in fact have croup, but instead tested him for RSV (like we originally suspected) and he came up POSITIVE. In addition, the woman working the front desk could not have been more rude or disrespectful. We stated very clearly and offered to provide proof that we had met our out-of-pocket maximum and did not owe a copay. The woman stated our "son would not be seen by a doctor until we paid our copay" and that she would be written up if she didn't collect. After calling my insurance immediately, they have also verified that we did not in fact have a copay, but PM Pediatrics is refusing to refund. The experience was horrible. My son was misdiagnosed, and we were mischarged. For what it's worth, I've already complained, talked to a Patient Care Representative and as you can guess, they stated PM Pediatrics is not at fault: go figure. Avoid this place and go to another urgent care. read more

Went on Sunday morning there with my son. The person that was in line before me was told it shouldn't take too long there is only two people in front of you. When I tried to check in, no greeting by the front desk person, he suddenly says there's 3 people in front of you and it's going to be an hour. I told him it will be fine and I will just wait. Then we took my insurance card without even trying he says we don't take your insurance. Well that's not true as my insurance card I can go to any urgent care in the country. He went and asked a lady and she was very rude and just said we can't put your insurance in our system. She didn't give any other options. I feel like they just didn't want to take my son for whatever reason. Will not recommend anyone to this place. read more

They canceled my "in person" appointment, (which I had made a day before), 15 min before the allotted time. They said that I make a virtual appointment. When I told them their website gave me the option for either in person or virtual appointment they said they're still working on their website to fix the problem. So while I had an appointment for a COVID test and I'm driving on my way there, the doctor talked to me over the phone explaining his reasoning for not seeing me as a matter of policy. He could've seen and tested me (and 5 other patients) during that period. Not the smartest or nicest physician. Not a good combo. (Dr. Chung) read more

When PM Pediatric first opened, they were great. Unfortunately, that is no longer the case. We have been turned away twice now well before they closed at 10PM because "they were already going to be there late because so many patients had come in." Once we arrived around 8PM and once around 9:15PM. I am not sure if this is an office policy and the doctors are aware or this is simply the front desk staff. The PM Pediatrics corporate office reiterated the office should be taking patients up to the closing time. read more

I usually don't write much reviews but PM Pediatric sure deserves this one. When I called this office they purposely advise no wait and they were indeed accepting my insurance, to then wait 2 hours on an evening for 1 year old patient in discomfort. If that was it.... Their billing department purposely overbill if I hadn't reached to my insurance company to check their payment I would never know that they owe me for the overpayment!!!! If that was it.... I am now been waiting since August to get my refund from their billing department!! Response it takes time... Do not waist your time and go to NOVA. read more

I would give this place a million stars if I could! First I called them approximately 17 times (with NO PRIOR EXPERIENCE WITH THIS OFFICE) and Holly (one of the amazing nurses) gave me amazing advice to help us avoid a visit. We eventually needed to bring our son in and when we did they made everything so easy for us. It is a clean, beautiful office with charming decor and they got us in right away. Dr. McKennon saw our son and was extremely thorough and diligent. As a medical practitioner myself, I was thoroughly impressed with her bedside manner and her attention to detail. I haven't always had the best experiences with urgent care, but this place was amazing! I (this was when I was 16) went in with chest pain, and my initial observations were two things: 1) the interior was decorated very nicely and in a very kid-friendly manner, which was great, and 2) the waiting room was completely empty, which I initially took as less of a great thing. After all, if they had no customers, were they really that good? This all changed, however, once I saw the doctor. I quickly realized that because they didn't have as many patients as other urgent care facilities (which makes sense - urgent care for children is a lot more niche than urgent care in general), each patient was able to receive a LOT more time from a doctor. In fact, my experience here was in complete contrast to my experiences at the regular urgent care places. I mentioned earlier how I haven't always had great experiences with those. Specifically, I was once incorrectly diagnosed as "totally fine" after I had actually torn my ACL during a skiing accident. The regular urgent care doctor spent approximately a single minute talking with me (no doubt because they had so many patients), before they took an x-ray (which CAN'T see ligaments) and told me everything was alright. Due to this incorrect assessment, I ended up continuing with sports for 3 months before seeing another doctor, at which point I learned that I actually had a whole bunch of problems in my knee that 3 months of sports after an injury had only made worse. Bringing it back to PM Pediatrics, the amount of time I got with the doctor was truly amazing and a complete contrast. The doctor stayed with me talking for about 15-20 minutes. Now, the thing is, I also happen to be somewhat of a hypochondriac. However, the doctor (Dr. Chung, I believe) was not only able to TELL me that I had heartburn, but also, crucially, CONVINCED me of it too. He spent a great amount of time explaining to me everything that I needed to know - from what I was feeling, to why, to how it wasn't any of the things I was really worried about, to what treatments I needed, and how to take them. I never felt rushed throughout any part of the appointment, with the doctor always happy to answer in detail any questions I had (at the regular urgent care place I almost always felt rushed). All in all, based on my experience, this place is fantastic. A huge part of pediatrics is not only providing an accurate medical diagnosis but also comforting the patient and their parents - and this place does an amazing job at all of those. The waiting room is a very uplifting place, the staff are extremely friendly, and the doctors are willing to take their time to answer and assure the questions of both patients and their parents. read more

The front desk lady is just entitled Karen..... will make sure every way possible that you loose your anger and oh god racism.....,,. I went there 10:30 pm and no one was in the waiting room and she asked my son who is 3 years old to force him to wear the mask.... The mask is not mandatory. They certainly don't know the cdc guidelines. Yet I made my son wear the mask forcefully, he opened it after few min when I was trying to give her my insurance and all. She had an attitude and constantly making me feel why I even went there!!! For example: she said we can't see you if you don't have ID. Bla bla bla..... I gave her the ID then she asked you need to have the insurance physical copy not the picture. read more

Went there for a covid test that was needed for travel and I was charged $570. They will not allow you to schedule ahead of time but of course they want to charge you as an urgent care. Covid testing is a business now for these clinics. They are taking advantage of insurance companies and the government. I will never go there again. read more

My husband took our 17 month old at 10pm last week since we felt strongly he had an ear infection. Usually we use Patient First in Leesburg, but since they were closed and we knew he didn't need the ER, I looked for another alternative. PM Pediatrics was incredibly clean and quick, the staff and provider were easy to talk to and very thorough. They did a lot of education as well. No more Patient First for us! read more

Took my daughter here for a mild suspected illness. We were seen in a timely manner. The nurses and the doctor were so good with my daughter and answered all questions. My daughter is usually scared of medical professionals so I'm impressed with how well they handled her. The facility is very clean and they take all necessary precautions when dealing with patients. We had an first-time excellent experience as a walk-in patient with Dr. Owusu. We showed up around 3:30pm on a Tuesday and were seen right away. The facility was brightly colored, immaculately clean, and the staff friendly. I LOVE that this urgent care is geared towards children specifically. They had popsicles, cartoons, and prizes for bravery. The staff was patient and kind with my daughter, who was fearful at times, during the treatment of her broken fingertip. X-ray services were on site, plus a quick reading/response from a radiologist on-call. Our prescription was sent to our pharmacy of choice immediately. I highly recommend you give them your business! They have outstanding late-night hours. I will definitely return when the need arises. read more

I almost didn't write a positive review because I want to keep this place all to myself! It's GREAT. We used to take the kids to Patient First before this place opened. Never again. PM pediatrics is so clean and such a pleasant experience. Both doctors we've seen so far have been super friendly and good with the kids. I had my hands full today with the baby, diaper bag and stroller and the doctor came all the way outside to help me open the door. Amazing! Plus the hours are great. read more

The good news is we were seen right away and all the staff is incredibly nice. Reception was very kind and doctor was nice. The bad news is the care was not so good. My son hurt his finger in a football game. Took him to PM Pediatric Urgent Care in Ashburn, VA. They took X-rays and said it was not broken. He did say he would have a radiologist look to be sure and call if the radiologist saw anything different. Said they would call that night if broken. No phone calls. On the 8th my son said he really thought it was broken and asked to go to his ortho (kid has broken arm twice and patella and never complains). We take him to the orthopedic (NSMI) and they confirm acute fracture across the growth plate. On 9/12/22 I receive an email with an addendum to his x-ray that it is broken from PM Pediatrics. 6 days later. Still no phone call. Thank goodness it was only a finger but come on it shouldn't take 6 days to tell us and then no phone call. read more

WOW! I was blown away by the quality of care my daughter received at this sparkling new urgent care facility. Everyone from the medical assistant to the nurse to the doctor were friendly and professional, and they definitely helped us to feel at ease. Dr. Chung was thorough, knowledgeable, and has a wonderful bedside manner. My daughter had a hole in her tooth that I did not notice until I was bad and got infected. I was unable to get a dentist appointment until 2 weeks later - and I called a lot of dentist places. One morning she had woken up with her face being swollen and in serious pain. I took her to PM Pediatrics because it was a Sunday. The amazing receptionist/nurse helped us and the doctor, who was also amazing, took care of her and figured out what the problem was very quickly. We got an antibiotic that helped until we were able to see a dentist the next day. read more

My experience was so great I just have to share! My little guy ended up with two corneal abrasions. He HATES doctors, what kiddo doesn't, and I heard great things about PM Pediatrics so off we went. From the amazing front desk to the nurse and doctor, I'm in awe, still, of how well they worked with him. Patience, empathy, caring, understanding, efficiency, and all the other outstanding adjectives you can think of. Took our 4 year old here on a Saturday around 4pm. There wasn't a wait and we were seen right away! Prescriptions are automatically sent to the pharmacy which is very convenient. The office was very clean. The front desk, nurse and doctor were extremely friendly. I've heard about this urgent care, and I am so glad we went. I understand that this isn't a COVID testing center, but if you need a COVID test, this is certainly not the place to go. They neglect to tell you all the information you need to know both on the website and online, and I wasted much time dealing with the harsh and vague policies of this place. I made the appointment online like the lady over the phone told me to, only for them to tell me that I cannot get a test until I see a physician. When I called again and asked about seeing the physician, the lady over the phone was constantly interrupting me and did not explain to me where I need to go or the steps in order to schedule an appointment with the physician. She kept telling me "you can schedule that online" and further down the conversation, I was told to "lose my attitude". Like I said, I am aware that this is not a COVID testing center, but the process of getting one has been a day-long nightmare with absurd wait times and rude, unhelpful people. read more
