I purchased a Korean lash lift and tint through Groupon, and unfortunately, the overall experience was disappointing.
Before my appointment, I reached out to confirm the location because Groupon listed the service as being in Woodland Hills, while the Square website where I confirmed my appointment showed a Reseda address. I was especially concerned because I was driving from Upland during morning rush hour and the drive was already about two hours. I simply wanted to make sure I had the correct location so I wouldn't risk being late.
I was told that Groupon customers could only make appointments at the Woodland Hills location. I looked through the Groupon listing afterward and could not find anywhere stating that, which was frustrating and confusing. I didn't want to argue about it, so I just confirmed that I would be there.
When I arrived, I actually got there before the technician. When she arrived, there was essentially no greeting. She called me by the wrong name, which honestly isn't a big deal since we don't know each other, but what stood out was the complete lack of customer service. I said "good morning" and smiled, and I didn't even receive a response or a smile back.
Throughout the entire appointment, there was very little communication. She barely spoke to me before, during, or after the service. There was no friendly conversation, no checking in to see if I was comfortable, and no effort to make the experience feel welcoming. The whole appointment felt extremely uncomfortable and awkward because of this.
I've had many different personal services done over the years, including facials, eyebrow waxing, and Brazilian waxing, and I understand that not every service provider is going to be extremely talkative. But there is a difference between being quiet and having absolutely no customer interaction. Even a simple "Hi, how are you?" or "Are you comfortable?" would have made a huge difference.
I understand that everyone can have an off day, and maybe she was having a rough morning. I had just spent two hours sitting in traffic myself, but I still made an effort to be polite, smile, and be pleasant. Unfortunately, the lack of people skills made this the most uncomfortable beauty service experience I've had.
As for the lash lift and tint itself, the service was okay, but the overall customer experience really took away from it. If she enjoys what she does, I would genuinely encourage her to work on her communication and customer-service skills because this is a very customer-facing business. The technical service is only part of the experience, and how you make your clients feel matters too.
I probably wouldn't return based on the experience. read more
