I went in for a facial today with Ruby as a first-time client seeking acne-care services, and…read morereceived an awful, careless facial that I feel like I survived rather than enjoyed. During the extractions, she was extremely rough, stabbed deeply at blemishes before scraping them out with an extractor tool. She popped a cystic blemish on my cheek that way, and it started bleeding and swelling, yet she carried on as though nothing had happened. Post nearly 24 hours, the area is still red and stingy. Her touch throughout the entire facial was unpleasantly heavy-handed. Whether she was turning my head, wiping product off with a towel, or applying toner and cream, everything felt unnecessarily rough and uncomfortable. She also has a lot of facial devices, but she doesn't have any massage skill or deft of hand when using them. Her facial may be enjoyable if you're used to rough-handling, or someone without much experience getting facials to be able to distinguish an effective one. The most intolerable part of the facial was, while I was talking about my skin concerns, she physically pinched my lips together and told me to close my mouth and talk about it later. Even if she did not want to hear what I had to say, you do not treat a client like that. A poorly performed service is one thing, but being physically handled that way by someone providing a professional service was the last straw. I would not recommend this service if you're looking for a skilled esthetician with a mindful practice.
