It has taken me awhile to write this because we recently lost our dog to cancer…read more Wags 2 Whiskers, thank you so much!!!!! You went above and beyond anything we ever could have expected in caring for our dog Cocoa and we could not have been happier with your services. I'm not sure how we got so lucky to find you, but we can really never thank you enough for helping take such great care of her right up until the end. Our dog was a lot to handle and we both knew that - but she completely adored you and we know that her daily walks were something she completely looked forward to and we never worried when we went away because we always knew that she was well cared for by you. All the pictures, the videos, the texts, and all the special meds and foods at the end that you helped us with - it was so much - you guys absolutely were the best! There are no words to say how grateful we are for everything and if I could give you 10 stars on here, I would!!!!!!!!!!!! You are true animal lovers with kind hearts and I feel blessed that you came into our lives at the time you did and helped us take care of our girl to the end. We will be back, I promise!!! Give us a little time... our hearts are still mending...but fostering is in our future so we can save another one!! Thank you again for everything. I cannot recommend Wags 2 Whiskers enough!

Tailchasers is great…read more Matt came over to the house to help us decide on chosing him for watching our dogs. That alone is a big decision when you think of your dogs as family. He stayed for about an hour answering all of our questions and going through our routine with us. He and his company are very thorough and good at what they do. I felt I could trust him and his staff to come into our house without us being home. When they are done with the visit you get an email with all of the notes from the visit and sometimes you get pictures as well of the dogs playing. This allowed us to go out late on a weekend night. We plan on using them in the future.

When arrived they wanted to use ropes to lift him with due to so badly soiled. So we supplied our own blanket and carried him to car. He was in obvious pain, soiled, bleeding from mouth. He was immediately taken to animal hospital and advised had to be put down for fractured back and kidney issues. When asked for an explanation Randa immediately sent a refund saying upon my request, which was just for explanation. When followed up was told I can't sue because I signed a waiver, that it was my fault for boarding an older dog and not boarded before. I never made any accusations or asked for anything but an explanation. I'm so devastated I left my pet/family member in their care.

Hours later we received a call from their staff informing us our puppy was being transported to the Wauconda Animal Hospital to receive stitches after an incident during day care. I met the Oakview staffer at the Hospital along with my puppy. The staffer was very young, inexperienced and very distressed from the situation considering she was wearing my dogs blood and was forced to transport my dog in her personal vehicle. I will spare you the horrific details of how my puppy looked and was behaving in that moment, but I understood fully why the Oakview Staffer was in a state of shock. The Oakview staffer provided a detailed account of the incident while we were at the Hospital. She described her and another staffer pulling at and hitting a full size German Shepard whom would not release his grip on my puppy's throat for well over a minute. What she couldn't do is explain why a 5 month old puppy was in the same play group as full grown male German Shepard whom she admitted had a history of aggression. She repeatedly apologized, insisted the owner would pay for all costs and that the German Shepard would not be welcome back to their property. Not only did the owner not pay for a dime of my costs, but he/she never bothered to ever call to check on my dog's well-being or return any of my emails or phone calls. Unfortunately, we ignored the reviews and opt'ed for convenience living just up the road...it almost cost my puppy his life. The worst part is our dog is now skittish around other dogs. I encourage you to avoid this company at all costs for the sake of your pet. Jordan W from Tower Lakes, IL

Bark University, Inc. - About 4 appointments later, and new dog, who's this?!

Five stars all the way!…read more We were babysitting our daughter's rescue dog, Ellie, while daughter and s-i-l went on vacation. They had recently moved to the Chicago area. We wanted Ellie to become comfortable at Bark University so the kids would have a safe, reliable place to leave her occasionally with their busy schedules. This place is filled with people who genuinely care about dogs--from Candy, the owner, to Dahlia and the rest of the wonderful team. Ellie was understandably scared at first. She had been a street dog and had difficult experiences in her past. The staff took their time introducing her to different dogs, carefully figuring out which personalities she was most comfortable with. I was so impressed by the amount of love, patience, care, and attention they gave her. Ellie did incredibly well. What surprised us even more was the difference we began noticing outside of daycare. Even though she was only going once a week for a few hours, she became noticeably calmer when seeing other dogs on our walks. Normally, she would bark at them, but she has been doing so much better. The prices are also extremely reasonable--$30 for a half day and $40 for a full day. I especially love that on longer days they feed the dogs and have the dogs take a one-hour nap/rest break from 12-1. Bark University is truly a gem of a place.

My daughter had made arrangements and I picked up her dog from there a couple of times. They appear to be a great organization and are very good with animals. My daughter definitely had confidence in leaving her dog there overnight, especially during trips. I can't provide any info on the cost, however. Note: her dog was ferrel for a very long time so he can be a bit difficult to handle at times. That was not a problem with her dog at that location. They treated my daughter and dog very well.
