We bought a sliding glass door from the Lowes in North Conway (we are right on the ME / NH border, so we're close to both). It didn't come with any instructions, but our contractor knew how to put it in, so that was fine. After it was put in he was slightly freaking out. He said that the door had to put been put together incorrectly at the factory as there weren't any drainage holes at the bottom. The employees at the store in N Conway were very rude and refused to call us back. So when we went to this one to grab some boards my husband told the employee about this situation, and asked for advice. He told him that it does have the drainage holes at the bottom. There's a cover you need to pull out that will expose them (he showed him exactly how to do it), the wheels on our door are also broken. He told him that if it is in fact brand new (Which it is), then if he had gotten it there they'd let him just bring the door in and they'll give him a new one. Instead of putting different wheels on which he said can sometimes be a pain in the butt to do. I'm slightly bummed that we didn't get it here (in Windham) now. We can't seem to get a hold of anyone at the lowes store we bought our sliding glass door from. Yet were able to get an answer from this employee pretty quickly.

I arrived around 8:30 a.m. when the store was quiet, intending to purchase four outdoor light fixtures along with several solar lights. I approached two associates in the lighting department to ask where I could find a specific fixture, but it was obvious I was interrupting their conversation about weekend plans. After multiple attempts to get assistance, I gave up and searched for everything myself, hoping I was buying the correct products. When I finally made it to self-checkout, one of the light fixtures scanned $40 higher than the shelf price. I waited for the self-checkout associate, Deb, to approve the price correction. She walked away, came back, helped several other customers around me, then walked away again without ever acknowledging that I had been standing there waiting. It wasn't just me who noticed. Other customers were shaking their heads and commenting about what they were seeing. After spending nearly 45 minutes in the store without receiving even the most basic level of customer service, I left my entire cart behind and walked out. Five minutes later, I was at Home Depot. Within minutes, three associates asked if I needed help and personally walked me to the products I was looking for. I purchased everything I needed there instead. For more than 20 years, I considered myself a loyal Lowe's customer. Today, that changed. Lowe's lost a $559.78 sale, but more importantly, they lost a customer who genuinely preferred shopping there. The contrast in customer service between the two stores could not have been more striking. I hope someone in store leadership reads this, because this wasn't about one pricing mistake. It was about feeling completely ignored by employees who simply didn't seem to care. That's something worth fixing.

I would say that in comparison to some of the other hardware stores out this way (Windham area). This one reminds me most of the True Value I used to go to with my dad when I was a tyke. I spoke to an awesome woman who's name is Marie, she could give me calculations on everything that I asked! I was boggled! She is exceptional!! Very impressive. I gave her whacked minimum measures & Marie was able to help me with every single inquiry including phenomenal suggestions. Marie is a find! She's one of the few of very few employees who offers up exceptional critique, how to & what options were available etc etc!! I hope she makes bank! She's worth the big bucks. I call with so little information, she spoke to me for nearly 30 minutes without an iota of hesitation. She knew exactly "what to" in the department of carpentry including stove/refrigerator sizes. Marie is Home Depots best of the best. She's a wicked strong employee. She's likely a manager or in construction if not she is well versed & worth her "weight in gold!!" Marie exceeds.. she's patient, professional, kind, great sense of humor, & she knows exactly what's up without fail. Marie is one amazing lady!! Home Depot needs to recognize a rarity like Marie & give her $$cudo$$. I was in construction many moons ago & wouldn't be able to respond with any type information as she did. Marie is what I call an Exceptional Super Pro! I've been to the best of the best in stores i.e. paints, fabrics, whatever high-end! Marie could go anywhere & work wherever she desires. If any one extremely high-end store is looking for a woman with her skill, background & I believe she has rare photographic memory... I'd be offering her big bucks & snagging her from Home Depot!! She's a rarity, a true gem! Marie's invested at Home Depot, they need to invest in her so as not to lose her. I'll say she can build it & they would come!! She could simply own her own place & make it work!! She can do whatever her heart desires or dreams!! Yes, she's all that!! The faux fur in wolf grey looks & feels like the finest cashmere. Our dog immediately got up on the bed & didn't move. Lucy is always at her Paw's side. The 1st night she laid down with me for a few hours & now I find her sleeping in. These are well made insanely comfortable comforters! Truly heaven! The particular 1 I bought is called Wrinkly Rolls Chunky Bunny & feels like foxy faux fur!! The costs are incredible reasonable. BB&B was having a sale. We needed a secondary blanket & I purchased another called Purple Reign also velvety soft. I purchased a sheet set & cotton blankets. Both comforters are AhhMazing! I highly recommend BB&B & Coma Inducer. BB&B has a # of Comas & of course Coma Inducer has a huge website. My images will not do these comforters justice. We love them & the prices are phenomenal.

It's very clear that the staff there are all genuinely passionate and knowledgeable about woodworking. I love that they always ask, "What project are you working on?" Maybe it's a just savvy sales technique, but it always comes across as genuine curiosity. The store has everything from an incredible selection of hardware, much of which you can't find anywhere else, to all sorts of exotic woods, to multi-thousand dollar power tools. It's great to have a store like this so close to home.
