My sister and I had been discussing getting our eyebrows micro bladed for a few months. We both had lost some of the outer third of our brows but it was even more evident on me since a number of brow hairs were grey. My sister was first to find Alessandra. She was thrilled with her eyebrows and I agreed, they looked great so I took the plunge and booked an appointment. Alessandra greeted me warmly and it was very evident that she had excellent customer service skills. I have grey hair so there are some in my eyebrows and I wanted to keep them since I felt it would be more natural with my hair. Alessandra agreed and went to work lightly sketching out the brow outline and mixing color, explaining everything. I asked about sterile technique and she didn't hesitate to answer (needles are from a fresh unopened package and so are the inks) in a professional manner. She told me that my brows would look redder and darker than I want the first few days-week, then it will tone down to a taupe color (a good color for me with my skin tone and hair color). Some areas will take better than others, so you come back in for a touch up in about a month, and then you are good to go for a year. Because my eyebrows were essentially feral, she had to pluck a bit to start and while I could feel it, it was no big deal. But for me, I felt the plucking more than the needles, it really wasn't painful at all. The first appointment does take time but when she was done, I could see my eyebrows were literally perfect. Definitely darker than I was used to but I trusted her and the process. It's weird at first, you feel a bit like Joan Crawford but no one else really seems to notice and by week two, it's really toned down. By the week of my second appointment, I was feeling good about my eyebrows, I could definitely go without any eyebrow coloring but also like maybe they could be a bit darker. Voila, Alessandra did exactly that in the touch up! I'm looking forward to a year of not sweating my eyebrows off and generally being completely lazy about them. A lot of my facial hair is blonde (both a blessing and a curse!) so lately I've been filling in my eyebrows with eyeshadow to make them seem fuller. I don't spend much time on makeup, so this inevitably smears or is uneven or feels unnatural. Sometimes I do it and sometimes I don't, so my look was unpredictable. Saturday morning I met Alessandra for my first microblading eyebrow treatment. Before my appointment she asked a lot of specific questions about what I used to be sure the treatment would work and be safe. When I arrived she explained even more about the process and what to expect. We took a few "before" photos and then she started measuring and marking where she would be filling in. This careful process took quite awhile and she even used a digital tool to measure evenness and then made a few more adjustments. It is definitely both an art and a science! There was a lot of bright light so I closed my eyes and listened to a podcast while she began to work. I've been waxing my eyebrows for 20+ years so I may be a little desensitized but the procedure really didn't hurt! What I felt seemed like a stuck ballpoint pen drawing on my eyebrows, over and over again. Sometimes going over the same place was a little sensitive, but it was not bad at all. Alessandra used numbing cream after a few passes and the cool wipes were refreshing! We took a short breather between brows and then touched one up after the second one was done. My skin wasn't taking the pigment as well as hoped, so she had to use more that the usual amount to get the results she wanted. We took a few "after" photos and she gave me detailed care instructions with a little packet of products to use. I was nervous to see my boyfriend when I went home, but he loved them! He genuinely thought my eyebrows were natural and mine and he had to study close to realize the parts that aren't! I love that when I see myself my brows look better than I could ever have drawn myself, and now it makes me want to improve my makeup skills because my brows definitely stand out! It's a huge time saver and major confidence builder! I'm so happy I met Alessandra and that she is so careful with her art. I was a little nervous in the beginning, but she really made me feel at ease and with the time and care she takes in preparing, I genuinely felt I could trust her. I'm one of those people who have very faint eyebrows and I am tired of filling them in everyday, especially during the summer when they can just disappear when I'm in the pool. I have done eyebrows tattoos previously. My first experience: horrible; second experience; great; my third experience is with Alessandra and she is the best. Here are my reasons why: 1. Alessandra is a patient professional and our aesthetics are similar. Like most women, I am super specific about how I want my eyebrows to look. I was previously a makeup artist while in college so I understand the look of someone's eyebrows are a constant, changing look. I assumed this would be a confusing thing to explain to Alessandra, but she got it immediately. 2. She is in constant communication with her teachers and color experts. Some aesthetic professionals want to appear professional by not asking for advise or expertise from someone with more experience. But Alessandra has no problems speaking and texting with her teachers about your color, the shape... I felt like I had a few consultants. More eyes the better. 3. We spent a lot of time mapping my brows. She is very precise. She took constant measurements and made sure the brows were perfectly drawn before we went in to do the shading and permanent process. 4. She is very specific about pre-care and after-care. I've had some professionals only care about what happens inside the room, and no worries about what happens afterwards. I feel like Alessandra takes ownership of the whole process. 5. I am super happy with my brows. 6. I had done my first session with Alessandra prior to the Chinese virus and had to wait to make sure things were safe to proceed with my following appointments. She was very knowlegable and percise and when my skin didn't take to the treatment the first time as we expected it would she was able to nail down exactly what needed to be done the second touch up and then brought me back later to perfect them. This was the first time I have tried microblading and I was very nervous to start. I have light (not very full) eyebrows that I just wanted to look full without having to fill them in everyday. My first visit to Alessandra was back in March RIGHT before the first shutdown. It was a great appointment and Alessandra was very patient and took her time mapping and microblading. I really appreciated this because there were times I had to take a break when the same places were hit twice. She was very generous with the numbing cream so that definitely helped! I came out of the appointment really liking my brows and the shape and could not wait for my touch up. Then everything shut down. I was not able to see Alessandra again until July which was much longer than recommended between first appointment and touch up. I opted to start all over again because it really was not anyones fault and out of Alessandra's control completely. I AM SO GLAD I DID. After my second appointment she really knew much more about my skin type and this time did a mixture of strokes plus the machine. WOW I loved the shape and the color lasted much longer, I probably did much better with the after care as well since I was no longer a newbie to microblading. Fast forward two months (after the last shutdown) and I went back in for my touch up. I loved my shape so she really just hit spots that needed a little touch up and I absolutely love the outcome. The last thing I really appreciate about Alessandra is how much she cares about post-care and checking in with clients. She is very specific about checking in and making sure I am doing the right things AFTER my appointment (based specifically on my skin type) to make sure my brows last longer and I have the absolute best outcome.
