There's an equal balance of trendy items (why, sequined argyle, why?) and more versatile pieces. When I was shopping for a very specific suit two years ago Plum was the only spot to deliver fit and meet the criteria. Plus it was on sale. The changing rooms at this location are clean and spacious: plenty of hooks and bench space. As an added bonus is that the mirrors are well-lit and flattering. I've always appreciated the friendliness of the staff here. They'll happily check for sizes at other locations, etc. and generally try to help.

I think overall, this place has a good vibe and some decent dresses. I wouldn't say the dresses are the best prices, but when you hit the right sale, you'll find some keepers.

Most of the merchandise is made Shelley Klassen, the proprietor of Blushing Boutique. Her garments are designed and made in Vancouver, with material being locally sourced. While there's definitely a bit of a retro feel to most of her designs, almost a la Betty Boop, she doesn't strive to alienate her clientele by making them so that they only look good on those with model-esque proportions. Everything here is meant to add a bit of glamour and fun to the everyday woman's everyday wardrobe. Klassen's designs comprise most of the store's merchandise but they also carry Nine West shoes and bags by Canadian company Be Bold. A desk sits in the middle of the shop... no additional wooden bar sectioning off from patrons. The store looks out onto both Water Street and Cordova. The atmosphere is warm and friendly. The prices were very fair for the quality, every dress I tried on was under $200. When I was there I was the only person in the store, so I felt very comfortable when I was trying on dresses in front of the manager and my boyfriend. She was so sweet, very helpful and gave me heels to wear when I was looking in the mirror. She helped me chose my dress and was perfectly on the line between giving me time and space to decide, but also telling me how gorgeous the dresses looked. I felt no pressure to purchase, but when you try the right dress on, you know! She also had shoes in store that we very modestly priced, a cute pair of loafers only $40. Other, short dresses were more copious around the store, as well as jewelry and tops. I didn't have time to explore all the racks, but any upcoming occasion I have I will no doubt be returning here first. Cheapest prices, cutest, trendiest clothes and the sweetest girl running it all. Definitely recommend you giving this place a try. The only downside to this place is that it's not a chain, so if it's not on the racks it's not available, but I actually really like that. It adds to the uniqueness of the dress, especially for events such as graduation.

However, touching the clothes, it definitely had quality in every piece. I was very tempted to buy a high-wasted rose pink flowy skirt for $56 but I stopped the little shopping devil inside me.
